    One of the best videos I've watched! I was born and raised in Rio, but I've lived in the U.S. for the last 20 years. I haven't been to Rio for 12 years, and my family and I are getting ready to go this September. I feel that I'm not as street smart as I used to be because I haven't lived in Rio for so long and this video helped me regain my confidence as a Carioca! 😂 Obrigada!

      I did travel alone, yes. I felt apprehensive by what everybody I was telling me (I am originally from Rio), but nothing happened and there was police all around. I think the feeling is similar to what people talk about Rio, everybody says it is extremely dangerous but in reality if you are sticking to the tourist areas, you should be fine. My trip to Salvador was amazing, and despite the apprehensiveness, I felt safe overall!

      Oi Jackson! Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo têm a maior oferta de cursos. Caso queira só conviver com brasileiros e praticar informalmente, qualquer cidade do Brasil ajuda. Os sotaques variam drasticamente em cada região do país, então dependendo de onde você estiver, você aprenderá gírias e modos de falar diferente, mas provavelmente será entendido em todo o território brasileiro. Boa sorte!

      @tripsterpanda 20 дней назад

      @@D.Jackson141 eu gosto bastante dos meses de inverno e outono (entre maio e setembro no hemisfério sul). Outubro ainda é bacana, as temperaturas começam a aumentar e chover um pouco mais, mas ainda é baixa temporada, então a cidade está um pouco mais vazia. Meu mês preferido é setembro, bastante sol ainda, menos turistas (verão na Europa está acabando + férias escolares já acabaram = menos gente na cidade). Isso pro Rio de Janeiro. Pra Salvador, o verão (dez-mar) é melhor, pois naquela região é o período menos chuvoso, diferente do Rio, onde chove menos no inverno.

      @@tripsterpanda ok, so I ask that here for now: I'm from Italy so I read that I can stay in Brazil up to 90 days without a Visa, however if I want to stay more (say 6 months for example), what I can do? I read about the digital nomad visa but do I need to have a contract or can I obtain it even with a small gig (that produce by now almost nothing) and some cash that can afford me to live?

    • @tripsterpanda
      @tripsterpanda 2 месяца назад

      You need to extend your visa with the Federal Police in Brazil. They will know how to proceed with it for you. I don’t think you need a nomad visa if you will only stay for 180 days, but if more, then yes, you should consider. If they didnt change the requirements for the nomad visa, you need to prove USD 1500/month or 18,000 USD in total in your account. I would also suggest reaching out to the Brazilian consulate to ask them about these specifics and also to get a CPF, similar to the codice fiscale. Having a cpf will probably allow you to: buy cheaper internal flights on the domestic website, getting a supermarket loyalty card and get discounts when you getting groceries, easier to get a sim card for your mobile without depending on others. I suggest you get this number before going to Brazil if at all possible. Have a lovely trip!

    This is extremely concise and helpful. Thank you so much! For future videos, you may want to increase the volume of your speaking and reduce the volume of the background music. I had the volume up to 100%, but still had trouble hearing you clearly. Had to turn on the captions. Other than that, this video is absolutely perfect!!!

      Thanks for the feedback! We did notice it in a few of the videos and took steps to correct it, hopefully the more recent videos have better sound balance. Thank you so much for the compliment and the feedback as well!

    This video is amazing and I love that you didn't shy away from being honest about Salvador's past while still showing its beautiful culture of today. I can't wait until I have an opportunity to go there!

      It is an unfortunate past but that shaped our country. Most of the things people enjoy nowadays about Brazil has its roots on African culture: carnival, samba, traditional dishes, new years eve traditions. I am glad you liked the video, thank you for being here!

    Can you do a video how foreigners can buy sim card in Brazil please ? I read that it is difficult for foreigners to buy SIM card in Brazil. Thank you

      @tripsterpanda 2 месяца назад

      Hi, I have drafted videos about it a couple of times but I have not yet found a consistent and easy way for foreigners to do it. There is also a lot of differences depending where you get your sim card or which operator you choose. Once I am able to pin down a consistent process, I will definitely make a video about it. Thanks for the suggestion!

      there should have an international sim card.specially for foreigners,which should have in nearly all the countries in the world

      I absolutely agree! In theory, all tourists should have a cpf number in Brazil, but no one really does it, as it is just a pain and not really useful once you leave the country. I think that if they had options for tourists to do things without a cpf in Brazil, things would be much easier! In any case, you have options like e-sims, which allows you to get connected in Brazil without all the hassle. This is my affiliate link, if you would like to check. airalo.tp.st/TZ95Jztj I might earn a small commission but there is no additional cost to you, should you decide to use their products.

      @@tripsterpanda I had bad experiences using Airalo last year in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan 😡 Airalo couldn’t connect to ANY telcos in those 3 countries. I ended up buying esims/simcards from the shops in those 3 countries. They work brilliantly ! My question is : Have you been using Airalo in Brazil ? Because if you don’t, you are just like billions (yes so many of them !! Haha 😝) of scammers out there who promote Airalo but never been to the actual countries they said Airalo works.
