The view point from 3:23 , where is that?
I don’t quite remember where that was taken, but I think it is on Nove de Julho Avenue. You can have a similar vantage point from the patio underneath the MASP museum or at the end of the Paulista Avenue, corner with the Bela Cintra Street
For the 8, 20 and 50 rides pack - card, can you also use it for the buses? For the BRT bus, can you pay with card or do you need cash? Does driver carry change?
How do you get UBER at the airport, if they don't sell sim cards? I cant use esim
Most airports in Brazil have wifi, or if not the wifi from the airport, some restaurants and shops might have it for clients as well.
I wonder if you have a rainy day video. I will look.
I do in fact have a video about what to do when it is raining: ruclips.net/video/STjZhKwwMJg/видео.htmlfeature=shared Hope it is helpful!
North of where you are there's the reef , lots of people swim there up near Padaria Boa Viagem
Thanks for tip! 🥰
What about Brooklin
I confess I don’t know much about the neighborhood. It seems to have good accommodation options but it is a bit out of the way for those that want to move around the city. There are not any attractions I know of and I don’t know much about bars, restaurants, etc. However, I never hear any of my friends recommending Brooklyn for those visiting, nor I hear anyone really interested in going there either.
Informative video. I plan to attend nye fireworks event then head back to airport SDU. What’s the walking distance and time for me to catch uber while maintaining safety? Please help!
I dont think it is a walkable distance from the beach to the airport. The road right next to the beach will be closed and maybe a couple parallel roads more. So you are probably going to walk 2-4 blocks until you get to a road which allows cars. All the streets will be crowded throughout the night. The concern here is more around pickpocketing then anything violent. Even the tunnel between Copacabana and Botafogo (which I usually do not suggest to cross by foot) will likely be busy with people attending the fireworks display. My suggestion is to stay somewhere a bit farther from Copacabana but near a metro station (i.e. Botafogo or Flamengo), then get a metro from the fireworks back to your accommodation, then get a taxi/uber from there. This will help you avoid a bit of traffic
@@tripsterpanda @ thanks! I plan to be somewhere around posto 5 to watch fireworks. After fw walk about 4 blocks to cantagalo then ride the metro all the way up to cinelandia. Transfer to SDU via uber. Is this realistic??? My flight departs NYD at 9:30 so need to be at airport by 7:00 am. I have hotel in mind closest to SDU airport where i plan to stay.
@@rdiesel84tbh, I think Cinelandia is not a good idea as it will be very deserted around there, so I wouldnt select it. Thinking of all the stops, Botafogo is probably your best bet as there will still be some people around the streets likely. Also, at 6 am the traffic in Copacabana will be better, so you might not even need the metro.
@@anacristaldii decided to reserve a spot 5 min near posto 4. Is fireworks visible from street? Im considering reserving kiosk but insure if we can after fireworks or even open after 10pm.
Thank you! Would you say that taking a plain iron ring (like, think as un-fancy as possible) is fine or it'll draw attention anyway?
A simple ring should be fine. The problem is usually stuff with bling. Also, necklaces are a bit worse, even the ones that are not worth much because they are snatched easily. The ring someone would need to actively ask you to remove it, but that is not usual to do. In general you just dont want to have bracelets, earrings, etc that look expensive.
@tripsterpanda I see, thanks a lot?
visiting rio in 2 weeks (november 2024).....staying 2 weeks in copa area.....can you be my tour guide or know someone who can? single guy, 61, from Florida
Hi, I won’t be in Rio, unfortunately. I don’t have a recommendation, but there are a couple of Facebook groups about travel to Brazil where people will likely be able to recommend someone to be your tour guide 🥰
Looks cool
It is very cool in there indeed!
This channel deserves more views. Great production value

@@tripsterpanda Also, Barra Funda is in the Line 3 (red), not Line 1. And in 2025 the airport shuttles will be done with the people mover, a small train moved by air that will connect the train station to all terminals.

Liberdade before the Japanese was knows as "Campo da Forca" (Field of Gallows) reserved for the execution of many enslaved black people and convicts. The one man you mentioned was one just one of thousands that had be executed. If you going to showcase the neighborhood, pls tell the true history, tell all of the history.
Thank you for adding to the story. I do believe I mentioned what you say, but I appreciate the extra info in case it was not there.
Hello,we are heading there this December. Are the restaurants open over Christmas?
Hi, Christmas is a big touristic season for Campos do Jordão. Brazilians usually celebrate the Christmas Eve instead of the Christmas day. You will probably find loads of Christmas Eve Supper (Ceia de Natal) for a fixed price in many restaurants. I suggest you book/pay in advance prior to going, as things can get busy/sold out. On Christmas day, lunch time might be the usual busy, since it is not really a tradition for us, I wouldn’t expect it to be as difficult. Some restaurants will likely be closed, but there are always the ones that will be working. You can also check for their working hours (horário de funcionamento) for the holiday season usually up to a month earlier. Lastly, if all fails, shopping centres might have shops closed on the 25th, but the food court will likely be open.
@@tripsterpanda thank you for the info and the reply! we are looking forward to it.
Hi. Do you organize tours in Rio?
Hi! Unfortunately, I don’t have the tourism credential yet, so I cannot offer tours, but I will make sure to post here when I do :)

It is indeed! Try to include it in your plans, you won’t regret it 🥰
Very informative! Thank you!
Very welcome! 🥰
This the second video of yours I watch. 2 things please turn the music down, it's hard to hear you. Second invest in a mic. It is very hard to hear you and understand what you are saying from the camera mic. Other then that thank you foe your videos. I'm coming to Brazil and appreciate the information.
Thanks for the feedback. This video in specific here was filmed a while ago (if the second video you are talking about is the one about safety is also a bit old) and things were still being worked on. Newer videos will have lower music and I will be wearing a lapel mic in them. I’m glad the information is helpful!
That’s were super useful tips! Thank you❤
Glad it was helpful!
If a place is full of thieves, maybe party somewhere else
Anywhere you have loads of crowds, you will have pickpockets, being it Rio, London, or New York. I am just letting people know how to enjoy it in a safer way.
Great! Can you point out best places for picanha!!
In the area I show in the video, Majórica is the best steakhouse (I think I mention it on the video as well). In Rio de Janeiro as a whole, Copacabana Palace is a great churrascaria rodízio (Brazilian style steakhouse)
@@tripsterpandamuito obrigado. Os teus vídeos têm sido muito informativos... Vou ao Rio em abril 2025. 😊
@@edviges1 que bom que eles têm ajudado! Espero que aproveite bastante! 🥰🥰
Ok
Stick to the tourist areas, I got attacked and robbed in the middle of the afternoon on the beach in Pituba by two punks from the favela.
I’m glad you are ok! And you are right, I focused more on the Pelourinho area for this video, but I do mention the deserted streets, I guess the beach would be the same.
Hi, thanks for the great vid ☺How did you find your private driver for the day? Did you book through your hotel or is there a company you recommend? Obrigado in advance 🙏
Hi, the hotel recommended it to us! That seems to be a very common business model as not everybody has a car to go around, so there will be many drivers to take you to interesting places.
@@tripsterpanda Cool, thanks :)
My pleasure :)
One of the best videos I've watched! I was born and raised in Rio, but I've lived in the U.S. for the last 20 years. I haven't been to Rio for 12 years, and my family and I are getting ready to go this September. I feel that I'm not as street smart as I used to be because I haven't lived in Rio for so long and this video helped me regain my confidence as a Carioca! 😂 Obrigada!
Hello fellow carioca! 👋🏼 Pleased to know my video was helpful to you! I have the same predicament as you, as I live in the UK for a while now. I hope you and your family have a lovely time in our beloved Cidade Maravilhosa! Safe travels!
can you use one fidelity card for multiple people on the same trip?
Hello, unfortunately, I don’t think that is possible. Usually you need one card per person.
I am having a fantastic time here in Salvador right now, and your video really helped me make a better trip! Thank you!
I am very glad my video helped you with having a great time in Salvador! Have fun!
@@tripsterpanda I"ve also enjoyed your videos. I want to visit in late Oct or Nov and could use a travel plan. Can you help me?
Great tips..had a hard time with the music in the background - distracting and harder to hear you.
Noted! This video is one of the older ones, the newer ones have a better sound balance. Thanks for the feedback!
Very helpful video. How is Brazil in December 😊
Very nice, but very hot! High season due to year end holidays plus summer vacations. In Rio it can be rainy but sunny in the northeast. I have a full video about best times to visit Brazil where I talk a bit more about the weather during these months 🥰
Obrigado pela informação
Por nada! Agradeço pela visita ao meu vídeo 🥰
Brazil is great for street food and snacks. The best you'll ever get and very affordable.
We agree!
Thank you!
You are welcome 🥰
Is there an obesity problem in Brazil?
Yes, but not as intense as in the USA
Thanks for the video. Did you travel alone? I’m considering traveling there alone.
I did travel alone, yes. I felt apprehensive by what everybody I was telling me (I am originally from Rio), but nothing happened and there was police all around. I think the feeling is similar to what people talk about Rio, everybody says it is extremely dangerous but in reality if you are sticking to the tourist areas, you should be fine. My trip to Salvador was amazing, and despite the apprehensiveness, I felt safe overall!
Thanks for the reply. I’ve been to Rio alone and agree that by using common sense and sticking to tourist areas, all should be good. I’ll use the same approach in Salvador.
Thank you so much for this informative and straightforward video. A lot of information is endorsed and it’s hard to decipher what is authentic. My birthday is NYE & I wanted to celebrate the Brazilian NYE tradition. I even hired a tutor to help learn Brazilian Portuguese. Considering it will be crowded, very hot and expensive I will plan to visit May-July. Crowds aren’t my thing. 😊Thanks again.
Thank you so much for the compliment! It means a lot to me! And yes, year end tends to be the most crowded of all times, after carnival. Very glad my video was helpful and hope you enjoy your trip. Ps: if at some point you do decide to visit during your bday, go to the sugarloaf party for NYE, absolutely gorgeous view of the fireworks. Tickets are usually on sale in September. Haven’t been for the NYE party there yet, but it is on my bucket list for sure :)
@@tripsterpanda Muitissimo obrigada! I wish your channel much success. I am binge watching and creating my itinerary using your videos. Especially where to stay and safety since I will be traveling solo. Mais uma vez, muito obrigada. 🍀🍀

Pedra do Sal is hardly a secret.

Yes! I loved the card and kept it from my previous trip :) Love Istambul, one of my favourite cities from the ones I have visited 🥰
Eu quero visitar Brasil para praticar meu português. O que cidade devo visitar? Você tem algum conselho para mim? 😅
Oi Jackson!
Pra Salvador, o verão (dez-mar) é melhor, pois naquela região é o período menos chuvoso, diferente do Rio, onde chove menos no inverno.
