Inside the station it should be safe. In the surroundings you probably need more caution. There are a couple of interesting spots around there like the Pinacoteca and the Portuguese Language museum, but they are both right next to the station, so it should be ok.

The metro has signs in English. Also, as Portuguese uses the same alphabet as English, you should be able to read the station stops. Google maps and the metro map will also help you with this

Right outside the station it's safe-ish, don't venture out too much without keeping an eye out for suspicious people.

Hello, unfortunately, I don’t think that is possible. Usually you need one card per person.
