    The sheer amount of effort behind this channel is insane to me, it is so good, thorough and knowledgeable. My wife and I are from Mexico City and just took a trip to Rio and Sao Paulo and used this channel as a guide for Rio, it was super helpful, thank you!!

    Thank you for making this it was so helpful! Can you please make a video about shopping? Where do locals get household items/toiletries? What are the main chains stores? What is sold at the 'street bazars'? Where to get touristy stuff, etc. That kind of stuff. That's another video that would be super helpful, thank you!!😊

      Hi Kris, I will def try and have one like that. I have a couple of other similar videos that might be helpful: search for the one about souvenirs, street market, and the cost of living, these three videos can give you some extra insight on your questions in the mean time

      It is! Much cleaner than the one in London, at least (and more spacious too!)

    Thank you as always for your informative videos! One question, I’m traveling to Rio for New Year’s Eve , would I still Be able to use my bank card on that day, even with the upcharged rate they have? Or is buying the new years card the only way

    • @tripsterpanda

      Hey Roy, you do need to buy the ticket in advance as the reason for that is not to upcharge (in fact, it is the same price as a regular trip), it is just to ensure they can serve all the people well. I remember a few years back when they didn’t have the time slots, it would be an absolute nightmare to use the metro on NYE. My suggestion is that you stay within walking distance to the beach, or get the metro before 7 pm, as you won’t need a reserved slot ticket.
      If you do get to Rio a few days early, I guess you could go to Carioca station and buy a slot reserved ticket (and maybe see some attractions around there as well). The problem is that they might sell out before you have a chance to get one.

    Are the metro stations/train in the North Zone safe to visit/use?

    • @tripsterpanda
      @tripsterpanda  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes, depending which one you are going to. You just need to keep your eyes peeled a bit more than in the south zone. I would also avoid night time. The Tijuca area should be generally safe.
      Please note I am talking about the region around the stations, outside of the metro. The metro should be safe regardless of the station.
      In the north zone, i wouldn’t venture much farther than Nova America mall, tbh.

      My pleasure! My idea with this channel is to have more practical information, as I think many travel channels lack that. I am glad you find it useful!
