Different Ways to make Metallic Rustoleum??? Pearls and Flake IN Rustoleum experiment. WILL IT WORK?
In this video we compare 4 different ways to achieve a custom metallic rustoleum paint job. It will help you figure out the best way to make your own custom metallic color using rustoleum. We will still continue top coating because it seems to give the best results for the look we prefer. we definitely do NOT recommend putting pearls and flake directly into rustoleum unless you like wasting money, getting a rougher finish, and not seeing much if any metallic qualities. If you insist on mixing metallics directly into rustoleum it is better to mix some krylon clear tintable base into the rustoleum to make it semi-transparent, but it still buries a lot of the particles.

Mom's Camper Van GETS GUTTED!!! How to remove a GMC Safari engine without a car lift.
Просмотров 8 тыс.2 месяца назад
We begin the process of getting the 99 GMC safari van back on the road, by making it completely immobile. It was a real challenge and became a game of inches lowering the body and squeaking the drivetrain out and scooting the engine hoist back which was holding the body up. We rolled the entire subframe out below the body because we had no lift and didn't feel like cutting the radiator core sup...

In this video we get back to work on the new projects we picked up in the last video, the Cushman Tracksters. the one without the cab has the stock 2 stroke motor, and the one with the cab has a swapped 4 stroke predator 670 motor. Both require some attention before they become usable. But eventually we get them sorted out and take them on some test drives. #cushman #offroad #willitrun

Custom Red to Gold COLOR CHANGING RUSTOLEUM paint job on a Cj-7. HERE'S How!
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.4 месяца назад
The old Cj-7 gets a paint job. We decided to try some different supershift pearls and flakes this time Pheonix pearl and Ember Flake from Didspade. We didn't spray a test sample to know how it was going to look before doing the Jeep so it was a mystery how it would turn out. We are really happy with the results. This video will teach you the basics of how to top coat rustoleum with pearls and f...

After sitting on a pile of tube for a year it was finally time to start building the completely custom exo roll cage I have been dreaming of and trying to design for many years. We used Bendtech pro to assist with the design and fabrication process which helped save a ton of time and money (less wasted tube), but we did some of the notches the old school way and kinda winged it with some pieces...

Nice work thanks for sharing . Never have thought about rustoleum any videos on how it holds up over time like a year or two review thanks again
Good video…
Do you think a Jeep Rubicon Gladiator stock lift on 33's could run this with little to no damage or problems?
Definitely. The gold comanche doesn't even have 33's.
Hell yeah bruthers
I did my first metal flake with clear varithane floor paint with a brush and I used hobby store big flakes. It worked out well.
I am impressed! Innovation, outside the box, probably a lot cheaper than the "pros". Keep it up!
i dig it. I have a blue 78 bronco that I've been repainting parts on as I can. There is a blue metallic Rustoleium Blue Metallic has worked well for me. In the spray cans at wal mart
great video guys!
You do you, guys! 👍💪
Nice 👍
What does the isocyanates do?
Healthwise, it can cause breathing problems with enough exposure. Potentially cause asthma and I'm sure some other bad stuff. Generally paints, clear coats and intercoats with activators, or hardener have them as a catalyst to make the paint more durable. We don't know everything about them but know you should be cautious when using them.
@@BrothersfabNadventure thank you! You answered all I was wondering about it! Oh one more thing, where do you find it at? Does it go under another name retail?
@@barnsey96 we use magik harderner or finish1 hardener. Can find it online. The intercoat and 2k clear is speedokote
Oh I gotcha! I thought it was something else other than Japan drier. Y’all are awesome! Keep up the good work!
@barnsey96 the hardener and Japan drier are different things. We use both but usually only a cap or so of the Japan drier.
You gotta take the 2 nuts off if the fuel lines. The plastic will then slide off if the injector connector. That is what's holding it up
@eddiereichel9354 Thank you! We had the nuts off but it ended up just being gummed up and stuck. Some light prying and wiggling did the trick
@@BrothersfabNadventure Im working on a 96c1500 v6 to v8 swap right now.

This is a seriously epic channel 🎉
Thank you so much! We are glad to hear you are enjoying it!
Wow. Hello from the Netherlands 🎉
We are psyched to have a fan from "across the pond".
Any idea what engine mounts you're planning to use?
We haven't gotten that far yet, but that's a good question. Once we look into the options we will definitely let you know what we decide.
That looks sketchy af...
Definitely not warm and fuzzy feeling...
I'm keeping tabs on your progress thanks for all your hard work cheers.
That's awesome! We will make sure to keep getting after it!
When i rebuilt my 5.2 318 in my 95 grand cherokee ZJ orvis i had tons of build up in the engine like that. It took a whole day to prep EVERYTHING after the tear down. 😂
It's not going to be fun lol. kinda wishing we took the intake down to get dipped.
I'd say you're probably gonna need all 6 rods because they probably out of round and possibly a block because of the cam bearing falling out
Yeah we were figuring the connecting rods would need replaced, they were a real struggle to get apart and back together once removed from the crank. We kinda think the cam bearing that came out of the block was seized to the cam, it was a tight press fit still, we pried it out of the block. The other bearings that stayed in the block got knocked out with an aluminum seal press tool. so hopefully the block will be ok.
Remove the bolt that holds the ss fuel in the spider assembly and the top 1/2 comes off you want to split them so you can clean the carbin out trust me the plenum is full of carbin
They got it under control
Thanks for the tips, we definitely need to clean inside of all of that.
Nice work. I hope you will show us the engine rebuild.
Thank you, we certainly will. We just dropped the motor off for machining and are working on editing the tear down video.
This is a million subscribers RUclips channel in the making. Im sure if you keep at it you guys will have like a few thousand subs by the end of the year. I enjoy your videos and like the energy. Stay safe and keep up the good work guys!💪🙏
Wow, we can't thank you enough for the praise and encouragement! We seriously appreciate it! We will do our best to keep at it.

Wow,talk about turning a fairly small job into a massive project. I have done many pre - and post face-lift Astro/Safari engine replacement jobs,I used to maintain a fleet for a company that used dozens of them. Every one of them was done out the front, and the upper rad support can be cut and welded back on the post face-lift vans,GM used to sell a kit that had the plates for the repair. These used to take a work day start to finish.
I subscribed to you guys because you did such a good job cheers.
Thank you, we appreciate that!
All you had to do was remove the front radiator support and grill, take the intake manifold off and it comes out the front
I swapped motors on two Chevy school busses like this, front suspension, cross member and trans dropped out. Had the bodies balancing on barrels LOL crazy.
if there is a will there is a way! Thad does sound a bit wild for sure, good old back woods engineering.
Thanks for doing this and posting it in the group. This is exactly how I'm gonna have to do mine. It's gonna be a while but by the time I grab my next astro, there will be a ton of work already done to the front end of this one, so I'll just be swapping everything over. Plus, I'll be swapping the drivetrain from a Silverado. Manual trans, manual transfer case, etc ..
You are welcome! We searched a bit before doing it and didn't find much in terms of doing it this way, so we figured it would be worth putting something together as we figured it out. We're glad you enjoyed it. We are currently finishing the motor tear down so we can send it down to the machine shop to get mic'd out and brought into spec. We will have a video on that as well.
@@BrothersfabNadventure nice! Thank you
Couple stationary cameras mounted about can help capture stuff without slowing you down too much. The magic is always in the editing.
Thanks, need to grab a couple more cameras and mounts.
@@BrothersfabNadventure you gained a new subscriber looking forward to seeing more of the van

Man, I love that area but haven't checked out the mine yet. I'll definitely be over there next time. What trail did y'all leave on? Great video thanks for posting it!
@jcahillmetals we popped out on spring gulch road right near idaho springs (lamertine trail i think). Not to be mistaken with spring creek out of lawson which also connects up there along with saxon mountain.
I will be joining you next year with my 1963 Thiokol 601!
At the jamboree or other adventures?
@@BrothersfabNadventure i’m going to the jamboree, I live in Maine. I plan on spending about eight or nine days playing in my snow cat. Doing some research now to try to find out where I can go, I like remote areas with very few people!
@Dan-ue1gr nice, we should get out on some adventures! We know of a bunch of potential places that could fit the bill. We'll need to scout out some parking when the time gets near. There are a few that are not groomed and having a blade could help (one of our friends has a blade if he is available to join).
Just found this channel and this seems interesting
Thank you! We will do our best to put out exciting and informative content
You did a great job keep up the great work
We appricate that! Thank you
First video seeung you guy, new subscriber. Hope you guys get more, seem like a fun channel. Have yall heard of the spray on bedliner people use to paibt off road vehicles.
Thanks for the sub! It's a slow roll but we are still moving along. We did raptor liner on the inside of the mj bed, seems pretty durable.
Just earned a sub for having the 🥜 to shoot in the snow and that speedokotw looks AMAZING even with the orange peel I’m definitely gonna give it a try
Thanks for the sub. We really appreciate it! We would have preferred to do it in more ideal temps, but it's just paint and can be re-done if needed. Plus, it will get beat in the rocks and is bound to need touch-up anyway. The orange peel can probably be cut and buffed if we are bothered enough by it. But we've heard some peel can help the paint last longer due to less uniform light reaching the base. We think some orange peel in the basecoat seems to bring out the pearls and flakes a bit more.
just found you guys today great energy
Thank you for the compliment, we are glad you found us!
I just subscribed, awesome work Man. I've been holding back on painting my 75 c10, I've never done body work or sand blocking.
Thanks for the sub! Don't hold back jump on in. If you mess up that bad could always sand off and try again. We do alot of "wet on wet" (no sanding in between) because of our conditions. The more time you spend in the prep the better it will turn out. If you have any other question feel free to ask here or send us an email at brothersfabnadventure@gmail.com
Cool color 👌
Thank you! Glad you like it too
That is alot of homework you shared. I appreciate it brother
Glad to help! Thank you

Thank you! Really liking the color change.
