It would go a long way if people would not think of themselves having the right of way all the time and speed on top of it. Defensive driving has died it seems.

The lack of $1,000 fines for committing these flagrant traffic law violations (speeding, running red lights and stop signs, tailgating, not signalling, speeding) is why such wrecks easily occur. Thousand-dollar fines would behoove politicans to make police enforce these simple traditional traffic safety laws, especially if cops themselves were fined $1,000 per occurrance for not enforcing them. Most people would have to sell their car to pay the fine -- and still owe on it -- or serve a day on a public works chain gang for each dollar not paid. Either way, the public highways could be fixed by free chain gang labor or, public transit could be funded by fines for scoffing the law.

This year has been noticeably worse than last year. I own a classic MGB and I've been almost hit 3 times in one month. People are even more distracted than ever. There's a lot of people not waiting for a car to clear an intersection before going. 2 of the 3 times I was almost hit was my making a left hand turn only for the moron at the side to try and go before I am even around the corner. They both knew I was there, yet decided to force me to take evasive actions just to not get hit. SLOW DOWN AND LET OTHERS SHARE THE ROAD IDIOTS. *not you, those who drive like that.* 😉

Here in Austria, from the arrival of the first fire trucks to the first jet, it takes a maximum of 1 to 2 minutes. If you don't believe it, just google it and watch videos.

Driving in Seattle sucks, so many low skill drivers that don't seem to know the basic rules of the road or just don't care.

My husband grew up in Ballard. I swear he can't tell the difference between a left turn ARROW and a regular green right that means oh have to YIELD to oncoming traffic.

I missed a great wrong way clip. When the detour was opened on 99 in Milton I was going north and a car was in the left lane going south. It wasn't until couple days later going through again that it occurred to me that both lanes were north bound and the videos on my camera had been copied over.

Just a reminder to the asses that go the wrong way at traffic circles in neighborhoods...you go counter clockwise. Nearly got hit yesterday by an old fart doing a left turn because he was too stupid to go around correctly.

I've lived in 8 states. Everyone likes to say "Im from "this State" and we have the worst drivers. Here in WA, they take the crown hands down no contest. Like there is bad drivers everywhere but WA has a whole different level of insanity. It's amazing anyone ever makes it home.
