- Here's another all new collection of crashes captured on Seattle's traffic cameras! From red light runners to rear enders, this collection has a little bit of everything. Big thanks to @SafetyVid for helping me get almost all of this footage!
As far as I know, there were no serious injuries in any of the captured clips. My hope is that viewers of these videos can recognize situations likely to lead to a crash, and adjust their own driving accordingly.
I do follow my own advice - I can honestly say that I never pick up my phone while I'm driving, and I'll turn right and circle the block before I make a left through stopped traffic. I'm not a perfect driver, but these are pretty easy steps to reduce the risk of a crash.
Clip listing:
0:00 - Need for speed
1:08 - Left turns
2:29 - Doing it wrong
3:45 - Red light runners
5:21 - U-turns
6:13 - Rear-end crashes
8:13 - Attracted to poles
8:44 - Lane changes
9:31 - Under the influence - Авто/Мото
Another great compilation!
And, a great reminder to keep our phone in our pocket (or bag/purse), and keep diligent while driving.
Thank you, I appreciate it! And I agree, keep that phone put away!
At 1:43, the city of Kenmore had similar problems along SR 522/Bothell Way. They put "barriers" in the middle of the road and adjusted the signaled intersections to allow for U-turns. At 2:30, I'm guessing DUI as the vehicle's exterior lights were off. Though I understand some vehicles dashes light up without the driver turning a switch giving a false impression the exterior lights are on. I've seen lots of people driving during darkness with no exterior lights on and they rarely "get it" when I've dimmed/flashed my lights at them.
Yeah, they did that along part of 15th Ave NW north of the bridge, and it made a big difference cutting down on crashes. I'm inclined to agree with you on 2:30 being a DUI - I don't know how else you crash into the ferry terminal like that. Thanks for watching!
I have family that lives in Seattle so this is very informative for me, ill tell them too. lol thanks
My husband grew up in Ballard. I swear he can't tell the difference between a left turn ARROW and a regular green right that means oh have to YIELD to oncoming traffic.
Great compilation!
The ferry dock one caught me off-guard 😂
For the crash at 3:10, I believe the causing driver was detained or arrested, because he got loaded into a cop car.
Yeah, that ferry one was wild - I'm going to try to start posting on Twitter faster for crazy ones like that. Thanks for the info on 3:10 - I'd definitely believe that he was impaired!
This video is proof that the average driver has no clue how to drive. Former CDL holder and I drove vehicles with a GVW of 63500kgs. Canada. Sets I have pulled Wiggle Wagons(2 30ft trailers), Rocky's, (53ft & 30ft) joined with a single axle converter, Turnpikes (2 53ft trailers) and tandem axle converter, super B train 53 ft. Single and 30ft single. After 15 years of driving these types of transport trucks; I found that I had to be very watchful and expecting the unexpected. It never ends well for any driver in a sedan who collides with a transport truck especially when that collision is a head on which almost always is fatal especially on highways.
Yeah, I think between distraction and impatience there are a lot of dangerous drivers out there.
@@SeattleTrafficCams Lack of courtesy, Lack of patience, Lack of attention and mechanical defect are the 4 main categories that all causes of accidents can be placed into. The saddest part of this is that 3 of the 4 are 100% human controllable the last mechanical failure is 95% controllable with regular and proper maintenance will catch failing parts before they cause a problem
It baffles me that there is little to no enforcement for dangerous drivers. Most of these people have no business having drivers licenses still, yet most probably do.
No bafflement here the answer is that with the explosion of entitled people who think the roads are for their exclusive use of them. God forbid that anyone gets in their way because they are to ignorant to ensure that they are driving safely. The Darwin award has been awarded thousands of times to drivers who ignore the laws governing the use of roads. Remember driving is NOT a right it IS a privilege that comes with responsibilities that mean all drivers must follow the rules of the road depending on where a driver is in the world the penalties can range from fines to execution. Regardless of the penalty severity all drivers must suffer the consequences of the behavior.
Even if they didn't have licenses, traffic enforcement is virtually non-existent in Seattle. Police are under-staffed and also seem to be on a years-long soft strike, so it's gotten pretty bad out here.
@@SeattleTrafficCamsIt’s practically the same thing in LA. Cops here don’t respond to accidents at all unless if the cars are disabled. If the damage on both cars is minimal, you’re shit out of luck to get police there, let alone get a report. And cops don’t even enforce or uphold the law because the DA here doesn’t prosecute anything.
@@B345T1N355Officialwhy would you need a report for a minor accident?
I appreciate the voice-overs!
And I appreciate the comment - thanks for watching!
I also prefer The Voice Over episodes rather than the text ones.
Great stuff!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Another Great Video Thanks, i prefer the Talking than the Text because sometimes reading the text i miss what happened.
i have great idea for you about some of the crashes you show maybe do a compilation of the crash and then when the Cops/Fire shows up so we can then see the How it happened and the End of what happened just an idea 🤔 but anyways keep up the great work Thanks 👍
Just found this channel. Interesting seeing accidents around town. Most are all over the world. One of these is just a few blocks from my work.
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I agree it's always fun to see spots you recognize - I watch a few dashcam channels and I often see places I drive regularly.
Many of these seem like the drivers should see they're about to crash a few seconds before and should be able to brake and stop, but didn't bother to.
Its Seattle was all these in the same 24 hour period
If you’re going straight and you don’t see someone start to slowly pull in front of you then you need to open your damn eyes. Half of these were completely avoidable by the person that wasn’t at fault
Voice over is good thank you
I do really like your voice.
Nice
Thanks!!
Great video, even on mute.
I'm not missing Seattle traffic at all, or Washington state in general. No one is actually looking out of their car while driving. They all think they're in virtual reality until some shit happens.
Lol, the VR thing sounds about right. I'm not sure drivers are that much better most other places, but I'm sure the traffic isn't as bad.
The many recent immigrants with zero driving experience comprise the majority of these accidents. I was T-boned by a driver running a red light. Vietnamese, no English, very young, said to me “the light was blue!”
You were in one accident involving one Vietnamese person; therefore the “recent immigrants” are responsible for the majority of accidents? What the hell kind of reasoning is that, champ?
Great commentary, sir!
😂😂
Does your mother know you are doing this?
Anyone can get a drivers license
oh your voice is ok. 😃 It's not a robot voice.
Thank you!
Blood and guts please!
I mean, I do have some footage of fatal incidents but I'm not sure that's what most people want to see...
Seattle driver's are some of the worst in the country.
There’s no excuse for it, either. This region is relatively affluent & educated in comparison to others.
7:15 i mean i cant even blame the dude for hitting the vehicle... just get in the MIDDLE TURNING SECTION couldve been completely avoided
To help prevent left turn crashes it's a good idea to have turn arrows whenever possible
Why talk over these delicious crashes? Self absorbed much?
