I have upgraded the TMCC SD40's with Crusie Comander M and installed LED lights inside the SOO caboose. The Cruise Commander upgrade was brought on due to a broken magnet on a motor flywheel.

Last train to run on the layout through this room. This portion of the layout has been demoed but lives on in memory like so many of old railroads across the US.

Lionel O Scale Layout Update #1 11/28/2010
We need a Christmas 2023 run! Hope all is well with you and your family, Dave. Merry Christmas.
Bill here, you have to be CDN? Great layout. CP rolling stock outstanding, father worked on CP out of London. Working on layout from childhood living in London. Started room, table, layout $$$. Anyways maybe we can connect some time. Great Layout!
Bill, I live in MN.
Very nice layout!
Can't wait to see more train running videos on that great layout... 😊
Great looking layout! Nice engine, I purchased two of the Lionel Penn Central RS27's and really enjoy them.
Dave, what a great surprise to see your latest video come up for me to watch. Always great seeing your layout.
Engines looks great and I enjoyed the crew talk.
Nice train action.
You get some new toys for Christmas? Looks great!
I did. Last February, I pre-ordered the F7 AA units #2201A&B, RS-27 #415, and a BNSF stack car with graffiti they all arrived around Christmas.
These radio communications must only be available when operating with a Legacy Base and Controller.
Yes
Another cool run Dave!!!
Glad to see you’re doing video’s again I really like your layout
Glad to see you're back!
Thanks. It has been a busy winter and have not had time to make new videos.
Nice work
Excellent run Dave!!!
💥💥subscribed💥💥
Very nice layout Dave.
Very creative layout.
There is a cat..... in the classification yard...!
She loves to be in the train room with me. Often sleeps in the classification yard. I have to make sure she isn't in the tunnel when running trains.
Great!
I enjoyed the trin run. Nice looking Engen and rolling stock
Very nice! 👍👍
Nice steam video.. I see the hesitation and sound cut out at the tunnels is gone. What was the issue?
The TMCC engines cut out in the tunnel was resolved by moving the ground wire for the light structures to a separate transformer. The lights were on the same ground wire as the rail ground. The metal base structures, Mystic Station, Girard Station and the control tower caused a signal interference. Also I recently found a rail dip over a framing joint in the middle of the tunnel. The dip was causing some engines to have a quick electrical short.
@@davypettit thank you Dave.. so glad to see you back
Another great video Dave.. I never tire seeing your layout. Where I had planned on building my "Pettitville Industrial" layout.. counting the cost and not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel I settled for HO instead and made a three wall , 20" wide switching layout. Then a guy from Canada saw my '03 Harley and showed me cash.. Now I have $$$ but, I also have a layout in the footprint of where the "O" was going to go. Back to the drawing board..I've begun an around the room ceiling layout that is about ready for wood. I'm waiting on a pair of Ross switches.. #100 & #101 I think they are for a run around and then I can begin the hard stuff. Any suggestions you can give would be greatly appreciated. Tom
the scenery looks great.. I see there are a few more updates to watch..
Nice video Dave.. I think this is the first time I've seen an operations type video where you've made up a train and head it out. Great stuff. Going back to your channel line up and see if there is anything else I need to watch to get caught up on. Again....great to see you back.
Dave... you're back!!!!! man it's great to see you with an update. I've gone back to your channel so many times over the past months and re watched your videos.. and for some reason I did Not get a notice that you had uploaded a couple of new videos. I have begun an "O" layout finally. I had to and continue to have to make compromises from my original plan. Great update on your scenery. I have to go check out your other uploads.. Tom
Thanks Tom. I subscribed to your channel too. Look forward to the progress on your new O gauge layout and the rest of your train room. I will post a few more videos in the coming weeks.
@@davypettit thank you Dave...again.. any tips, suggestions, hints to keep me from some pitfalls along the way will be greatly appreciated. "O" is a completely new animal. I am totally green in this scale.
@@Mercatoyd feel free to reach out with any questions. I've been in O Gauge for a long time.
@@davypettit thank you so much Dave..
When Lionel pulls out of China let me know, until then they can stay on my ban list.
Looks good
Hi Dave - New subscriber. I was wondering what your turn radius is. Also, do you have a diagram of your layout? It looks great. Regards.......
Minimum curves are O42. I have a track layout diagram. Working on a video to present the diagram. Thanks
So basically it pumis rock
Sweet.👌♐
So, I take it you like Soo ? Nice layout and rolling stock !
I grew up watching the Soo Line and it is my favorite railroad. When I was a kid, the Soo was the main service in my hometown; Marshfield, WI.
Nice, it was the New Haven and B&M for me.
Great use of the space you have nice!
I love the content on your channel. Your layout is fantastic and the equipment you operate is very cool too. Thank you so much for sharing. Thumbs up. Please count me as a new subscriber on your channel. I cant wait to see more new content.
Thanks. I subscribed to you too.
@@davypettit thank you
Beautiful steam and beautiful diesels! You have a fun collection. Thank you for sharing them on your channel. Thumbs up.
Cool engines! I love the movements you are doing in this video. Showing off the sounds is fun too. Thank you so much for sharing. Thumbs up.
Gfgfff
Very nice layout
Would you consider telling us a little about your rolling stock and locomotives? Thanks in advance!
Very nice!
Great to see the railroad running. I like that track plan so much, that I intend to approximate it in my own basement using tubular track! The room is nearly cleared at this time, just a little cleanup and paint on the walls before the benchwork can start.
Thanks. Look forward to seeing your layout on RUclips.
Nice run Dave!!!
Excellent! I'm glad you're making videos again!
Probably a stupid question from a beginner, but how do you run multiple trains on the same rail power? Say, if you want a yard to park 2 other engines. I only have postwar engines. Is it only possible using the newer controlled engines?
Not a stupid question. I run legacy and TMCC engines. All track has a constant 18 volts. Each engine is digital controlled. With conventional engines you would need to install block control to turn off power in the yard while parking engines.
very interesting indeed. Continuous operations, industry (which always adds spice to a layout), and it seems you’re quite the omnivore when it comes to trains. That makes 2 of us. And you’ve earned a new subscriber. P.S. you should do a layout tour and explain why say industry x is in location y. Just curious and think I’d be interesting.
beautiful layout, sure wish I had my own house to make one for myself. in the mean time ill watch videos of yours lol
I uploaded new videos this week
That CP Loco is a beast!
Awesome trains and super layout! You utilized every inch of your room space nicely. New subscriber here
super inspiring layout for a small space with only one loop
What are the rough length and width of this layout?
