I have one of these (still with a very old box older than me) and its a meat slicer not bread. It works great although it is of its time when it comes to the hygiene of cleaning small flakes of ham from that little slot below the blade...😃 Its a lovely project !

This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell

These things have been known to explode when exposed to heat. I wonder if the filler material has a different expansion coefficient than the metal, or even a moisture content that might be the reason?

Had one issued to me in the 1980's when I worked in the electricity supply industry.

When you added the screw back on to the triangle reamer. Are there any fasteners, bolts, screws, or any part that you could have used that would make it be an exact replica? Or does the screw able to penetrate all the way through to the other side?

How did you get the ball bearing assemblies out of the housing plates?
