    Excellent quality restoration. I remember when my grandad got one the blades were gun metal blue and the handle was never that shiny.

    Nice work, but I wish you had tried using a mixture of automatic transmission fluid + acetone instead of penetrating oil & vice to release the rusted nut & bolt. Try it - it really works much better & faster than regular penetrating oil. Which buffing compound did you use on your buffing wheel to get that great shine?

    Got one of these had since the 1980 ‘s got blue carbide blade it’s second one .The original one got fried accidentally sawing through a mains cable & the blade looked like somebody had bitten a chunk out of it ,it was only the bade that was damaged.
