Was it not reported for instance, that Ireland had Gross National Income (GNI) in the EU27 in 2022 at €363.6bn , while its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was at €506.3bn at 23 feb 2024. Add to this the 13bn€ Apple tax arrears fine, another payment to Ireland. How is this govt managing these funds? This budget says nothing meaningful that will seriously help the irish worker, small business, farmer, health, housing . The aim is to buy votes, while keeping people, hoodwinked, and so occupied and swamped down with beaurocracy that their "opaque shenanigans" veil the behind the smokescreens transfers to depts., opws, ngos, big bosses, private hands...etc. All go undetected...until after the fact. 🤑🤑🤑🤥🤥🤥. Therebis no accountability at all! Wtf are these public representatives doing with our money? This budget is but a case of "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" ...the former being us the people, the latter being members of cosy clubs and private wealthy. That money belongs to the people. It does not belong to the politicians, or civil servants or others. These scoundrels, are our public representatives, and as such are expected to merely prioritise and execute the projects and needs, and to properly manage our money for our benefit. even that energy credit of €250 they (energy companies + politicians) take away multiple times that during any year. Much smarter solution lower the energy prices and push in that €250 where the sun doesn't shine (an ass). Stupid games really.

That's what I really disagree with you on, you're really good at pointing out that government is the most inefficient most expensive way to provide anyone with anything ever, and you want government to fix it? I was once where you are now before I realised that government is the most inefficient most expensive way to provide anyone with anything regardless of who is running the government or where in the world the government is, Maybe it's just not the governments job to provide anyone with anything, maybe they should concentrate on maintaining an economy in which the citizenry can afford to provide for themselves, because despite your dislike of private enterprise, you should understand that a deregulated competitive free market without government involvement always rises to meet demand, every single time providing absolutely everyone with better and better quality products and services at lower and lower prices, Even more so, I think even the welfare state was a terrible idea, it provides nothing for the needy that charity couldn't provide better for a whole lot less money and a whole lot less costly red tape, I think if government just got the hell out of everyone's business and did one job and one job alone, they might, just might be able to do it well, get the country out of debt and maintain an economy in which the citizenry can afford to do all the shit government are fuckin useless at, and do it for ourselves, all that shit, health, education, housing, and the welfare of the poorest among us, if government weren't ripping us off in taxes and wasting the money, every single one of us could spend our own money way more efficiently than government can spend it for us, even if the government taxed the top 10% of us at 99.99% they wouldn't put a dent in fixing the problem of government being the single most inefficient most expensive way to provide anyone with anything ever. Buying votes budget is more apt

Country is far too small to deal with our new epidemic, people being ushered in far faster than we can build. The gov. paint a positive picture, financially, but we are being stretched. Ireland is not far from an unprecedented collapse.

Something has to give………….a lot of ordinary people have been brainwashed into the ideology, spend, spend, spend, if at a lower level…..

As long as vulture funds continue to be able to buy housing in Ireland, there won’t be any crash. Along with continued mass immigration from India etc. prices will continue to go up
