So would the rent paid to homeless accommodation suppliers, agencies and NGO's who are tasked with providing homes - If not good enough for the job then the homeless can start up their own NGO, or else what? What's the solution?
They do care, enough to fund and supply NGO's and local authorities to be made available for the general public (including the homeless) to interact with. We really need the Homeless to get their act together at this stage and ditch the spoon fed approach. It starts with cooperation, support and realisation of what's at stake
If over half a million adults weren't living with parents the housing mess would soon become a catastrophe . 10 % annual price increases in Dublin are here to stay .
A genuine homeless NGO should hold them all (the caring charitable NGO's) to account. Of course if the homeless are going to shrivel up in a sleeping bag or disappear up the telly's ass then who's going to care??
Peter, it's so sad for people and I don't see anything happening to alleviate the suffering of those 15,000 + people, then the street sleepers in this weather, its inhumane, Shared as always
This is what I found out today. A Chinese woman has a flat in Dundalk that is paid for by the hap. well, now I found out she does not live in it but has sublet it out and gets 12 hundred a month she lives in Newry and works in a Chinese takeaway..
The truth is we voted for more of this I am trying to help my children to get out of Ireland my 23 year old son has now lived in Germany he told me he was never so happy his app is I bed city center 700 euros
Yes it is but is still much more affordable and better weather but u are right transport within cites is still good but outside that not good but u right it has gone down hill badly in fact is should be used as a lesson for woke madness
Couldn't agree with you more Peter.. An absolutely shameful reflection of what this government thinks of it's own people... Unforgivable 🤬🤬.!!! ☘️🇮🇪🙏🙏🙏
Individuals disguised as Politicians within areas that have Individuals sleeping rough on the Streets, especially on Winter Nights such as we Currently have , should be Individually Sued on behalf of these Homeless People for allowing it happen.
Every single guy out their is in serious trouble . Rent at 300 euro a week at its lowest plus bills - tavel to work, a pint once a week or some . There's nothing left from a gross wage of 650 euro a week. Zero 0 . What are we sapost to do .?
The planning autorities in ireland like an bord pleaneula and dublin city council reall need to stop objecting to homes being built and apartments plus local elected goverment councillers need also to stop objecting to homes being built and the epidemic of nimbuysim in ireland frim people strongly needs to stop this is whats causing the horrific houseing crisis in ireland 🤔🙄 and im going to keep saying this
Peter,we need to name and call shame.i have yet to hear one Church leader address this situation. What have the new politicians done yet. These are our people.
What can we do to initiate change ? This is a sincere question in the face of contempt for homeless citizens. Who voted for the politicians who don't care? Please do a video on how we can take the steps to make the change from the grassroots.
What the Irish people could have done was boycott voting in the general election. This would have sent a very powerful signal, which is "This Democracy is not working for us." If half a million people refused to vote (refuse to play the game), that would quickly cause a constitutional crisis and open the way for the Irish people to start over and set up a democracy that delivers for the people. Otherwise, get out on the streets and spell out what you want from your government.
The outcome of that Court case yesterday marked a further major turning point for Ireland because it now sets a precedent for wealthy landowners to carry pistols and shoot trespassers dead without fear of conviction or of even losing their gun licences.
Great video Peter!!👌🇮🇪 unfortunately there seems to be a very bleak future for Ireland! I think the most frustrating thing is that all of these problems are easily fixable but our incompetent government just keep allowing everything to get worse and worse and then they'll complain about not having the work force, who have all gone abroad where they will actually be appreciated! Sad sad times to be Irish, but your videos give me hope that we still have people who put the Irish people first!🙏🇮🇪❤️
I remember 2009 when everything crashed and bondholders and banks bailed out while ordinary families lost their homes. Same type of situation today contempt exhibited by this government for hard working people. Nothing will ever change in Ireland
It astonishes me how these same people got back into power. By the time their term in government is fnished Ireland 🇮🇪 will be finished . Such disheartening and sad times we live in.
This is terrible news, but in fairness, it was easy predictable. There's nothing going to change anytime soon. We should let AI take over the major decisions and remove the human greed element.
These figures are conservative. They don't take into consideration adults living with parents couch surfing with friends Tec. Also because there is no good retirement affordable accommodtionand many pensioners stay in far too big houses they can barely manage whereas if they could move on the house wouldbe available for young families
What a wonderful government? Must be the best in the EU. The same got voted in recently. All of them must be devoted Christians. What can go wrong? Except, they do not inspire me in any way.
It confuses me that there was a building boom a few years ago, and there are empty houses never used and boarded up, whole unfinished estates. Why are they not being finished and used? Serious question. Refugees could be employed to finish them and they could be used by them while they wait to be processed, or given to the Irish homeless too. This would get some people off the streets at least, and maybe bring down rents a bit. Has this ever been discussed?
but sure there are NGO's supposed to be working for the homeless, The Simon Community, Focus, peter Mcverry's, Crosscare, Depaul, Threshold etc Can you imagine if there were enough houses available from the local authorities? Then the Quango's above would be out of purpose, out of a well paid job themselves?? ;-)) The Homeless need a new Quango, we can call it 'Direct Action For A Home' bringing direct action to create Homes - 24/7. Heads up, pay your subscription, attend the meetings & conferences . . . .
There are many older houses in my area. Beautiful homes that could be done up. Most of these houses are in limbo I.e no wills, older people in nursing homes etc. Also we don't have enough electricians, plumbers or builders. Lots of people want the degrees which are irrelevant to today in most respects.
It's funny that the migrants tents disappeared for the auld winter season. Irish people die. Irish children homeless. Nice heated hotels for the young fit healthy men.
Why not 'take control', in true meitheal spirit, of all those empty diocese buildings in almost every town nationwide? It is not known who owns them, it is assumed various dioceses and religious congregations. Many of them only require small amounts of work to be habitable. Some of them could become new buildings to provide food and other essentials for those in need. It needs to be spoken about and organised by all those with channels such as this one who speak out against injustice and homelessness. Let actions speak louder than words, now is the time, strength in numbers.
We are shameful as we sound like broken records. personally I believe if the Irish are stuck for solutions then look abroad for 'Best Practice' solutions. I was talking to a Dutch man yesterday who explained the secrets of their success in supporting 18 million people on a country 1/3 the size of Ireland . . . Also this . . . ruclips.net/video/U9fMoQlRyGk/видео.html from Japan.
If you include the people that are still in direct provision even though they've been granted access to remain in the country but can't leave because they've nowhere to go, the homeless figure is 20+k
My new years resolution is to discuss solutions (any body else?) What's needed is trailer parking spaces and public toilets among other implementable measures then street sleeping will be greatly reduced - oh and we'll need a supply of these "Tiny Homes" . . . ruclips.net/video/3bYfCRKwckM/видео.html

@Eggmanrocks Thank you.
NON STOP IMMIGRATION>>>> every day I see people dragging their suitcases along the streets...
It won’t change as long as there are people like Harris, Martin,Donohoe, McDonald.
That €50 million government jet would build a few houses
So would the rent paid to homeless accommodation suppliers, agencies and NGO's who are tasked with providing homes - If not good enough for the job then the homeless can start up their own NGO, or else what?
What's the solution?
Peter thank you, the voice of Ireland. Keep it up.
Many thanks!
The government doesn't care, Thanks Peter.

⚠️THE REGIME MUST GO ⚠️
Too many traitors voting them back in. Shame on them
If over half a million adults weren't living with parents the housing mess would soon become a catastrophe . 10 % annual price increases in Dublin are here to stay .
It's disgraceful Peter , it's only getting worse & they do not care .
True
A genuine homeless NGO should hold them all (the caring charitable NGO's) to account.
Of course if the homeless are going to shrivel up in a sleeping bag or disappear up the telly's ass then who's going to care??
People voted for the same 🥴
no they did not sorry it was rigged bud
Plenty of room if they weren't housing half of the world
Time for truth to come out, time for irish people to wake up, wakie, wakie.
As granny Harmer said, it is all by design.
Peter, it's so sad for people and I don't see anything happening to alleviate the suffering of those 15,000 + people, then the street sleepers in this weather, its inhumane,
Shared as always
My God. It's just getting worse and worse.
God's servants are too busy lining their own €,€€€,€€€'s nests and hand wringing for special effect, pure shameful.
This is what I found out today. A Chinese woman has a flat in Dundalk that is paid for by the hap. well, now I found out she does not live in it but has sublet it out and gets 12 hundred a month she lives in Newry and works in a Chinese takeaway..
You never see blacks Chinese Asian homeless in tents on the streets strange that! Maybe because there not junkies or alcoholics!!!
The truth is we voted for more of this I am trying to help my children to get out of Ireland my 23 year old son has now lived in Germany he told me he was never so happy his app is I bed city center 700 euros
Germany 🇩🇪 is going down the tube

It's Margaret Thatcher like policies
The government HATES the working class!
They love talking about these things but never do anything about it like everthing else in ireland🤔🙄
True Derek it,s Time for Action!.

Where is the government money going? Money from the cities barely subsidizing the rest?
Most of the money is for themselves and the loyal NGOs.
They should go and live in lenster house until they are homed
How about Aras An Uachteran.
And yet again people still vote the same goverment back in.i rest my case !!!! 😮
Too many are too comfortable themselves, these homeless figures are just figures to them
It feels like we just live in an economy instead of a country.
powerful video powerful channel
If google , Facebook, all the tec company's were to pull out and head back to the usa 🇺🇸 Ireland 🇮🇪 woukd be Ireland again.
Our politicians dnt give a shite about the homeless or the vulnerable they say you can judge the state off a country by the wsy it treats its weakest
Ah it's only the natives we have to think of our International Obligations surely though.
Sick, isnt it.
Who voted these people in again. Thus is outrageous....male, Irish men......shocking
Most irish couldnt give two
..... about the homeless , judging by the recent election rrsult.
Good man peter keep up the good work

Horrendous
What a useless government we unfortunately have they don't seem to have a clue what to do
Sad days we living in
Vaše političare i crkvu treba javno prozvati
The majority of Irish citizens ar content with the "StatusQuo". Hence no ground swell for change.
if you think what you are hearing is scary. what you are not hearing is horrifying.
If we had another GE tomorrow, they'd still be voted back in.
When you leave housing to big business, you leave citizens homeless. I wonder why so many of our politicians attend church?.
The outcome of that Court case yesterday marked a further major turning point for Ireland because it now sets a precedent for wealthy landowners to carry pistols and shoot trespassers dead without fear of conviction or of even losing their gun licences.
Housing is also a major issue for the middle class.
And counting..

We're being deceived everyday. Jesus told us to expose the deceivers did he not. Your good work is appreciated Peter.
Scandalous 😡

Most TDs are Landlords

Irish citizens being made homeless every day, to make way for Tax Free Ukranians.
the bold fenian men must return once more
I tried voting for a change but it didn't happen
I can't do it alone
It's funny that the migrants tents disappeared for the auld winter season. Irish people die. Irish children homeless. Nice heated hotels for the young fit healthy men.
How can you get a place to rent when there asking for more money than you make a month.

Watched an ngo introducing migrants into new accommodation in irishtown dublin, one at a time, is this a new trend to avoid detection
The homeless should get together and form a small army . What have you to lose?
Small....?
And start building houses for themselves.
