    I installed the Mark7 Autodrive on my RL1100 6 months ago. I am thrilled with the performance and results. Mark7 has a great support team to help if you have questions or need help. It's an awesome solution for any serious reloader. When I was asking around about which autodrive to go with the Mark7 autodrive was tops on everyone's list. One recommendation I got early on and I agree with it, have you press running well and all the bugs ironed out before installing your autodrive.

    SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENT for the primer express...............make the blast shield out of 1/8" plexiglass. It will still stop a cascade primer detonation. More importantly, we'll be able to see through the blast shield to see an upside down primer, or any other problem, as its transparent. We can see problems before they jam the press.

  • @andrewdow1609
    @andrewdow1609 8 месяцев назад

    Sounds like that Autodrive causes a whole bunch of stress that eventually causes all of the presses to bend. Props to Mark 7 for detecting this, and coming up with a fix.

    • @Mark7Reloading
      @Mark7Reloading 8 месяцев назад

      The press core itself will not bend. Yes, however toolhead "flex" is sometimes causes by applying high amounts of force on the toolhead sometimes causing small deviations in loads. You will see this more in larger rifle rounds than you will pistol. This bolt makes the toolhead more rigid on its mounting point on the center ram. Making the deviation little to nothing.

    Is it possible to make the Digital mesure to throw slower? Since the 6mm XC have such a smal neck and large case capacity the powederfunnel gets "overloaded" and powder sometimes get stuck in the funnel and you get double powder, no powder or powder all over the case plate. At the moment the mesure throw is fast and dumps 100% of the charge in 0.1 sec Could we make it 1,5 sec? having it empty slower for large case smal caliber?

    Good Morning Gavin. Do you think that the feet are critical in mounting? I'm using an Inline Fabrication plate and was just studying on what their purpose really is.

  • @williambotha5864
    @williambotha5864 Год назад

    So both feeds stop when one plate sees an error? The reason we break down the process, three steps for .223, is because of the error rate that affects the entire plate? These include decap sense, swage, primer feed, primer orientation, digital clutches, powder load errors, primer bullet seating, bullet feed ... haven't you just doubled that risk? I must be missing something.

    • @EssentialLiberty
      @EssentialLiberty Год назад

      Yes but also doubled output.

    • @williambotha5864
      @williambotha5864 Год назад

      @@EssentialLiberty LOL, the throughput of a machine is the result of the theoretical capacity multiplied by its error rate (unplanned downtime). The hypothesis that doubling the feeds somehow doubles the capacity is fallacious as an error on one of the feeds will stop the other, regardless of its status. And every time you have a digital clutch / torque sense (on either of the plates) - what are the downstream risks if you don't make sure the cycle completes properly on BOTH plates (primer insertion, powder fill, seating depths, crimp)? I sense that the downtime for a pressure-related error will increase here. You will still have to refeed the primed cases, doubling the case feed risks, and operator effort.. This is the reason that commercial producers split processing .223 into three discrete stages, so that a ringer cannot produce a high primer, a sizing jam cannot affect a powder load or incomplete crimp. (Both of which can produce a cataclysmic defect for the shooter, and you can't inspect for them) Cost up, set up time up, operator workload up, FMEA values up, throughput slightly improved, machine needs to be returned to OEM for major service/refurbishment (for how long?) ... you decide if that's worth it.
