Thanks! Lol, a few bits of kit can turn a simple camp into glamping! I didn't secure the tent to the gravel. The weight of the kit inside and my hope the wind doesn't pick up is what kept it in place. I wrap the breakables in tea towels and pack them close together...so far they have survived many miles of rough tracks.

Cheers, Grant 👍 I sold the RV3 when I bought the camper trailer. It was a great tent, I'm sure you'll like it. When I go camping without the camper trailer I prefer to take my 'swag' it's not really a swag, more like a small tent. I prefer it though over the RV3 as it doesn't flap in the wind, has four large wall/window panels and rolls up with the mattress and bedding! But sometimes I do miss the RV3...I may end up getting another one 🙄

@4X4CA Yeah I've had my RV3 for a couple of years almost and it's a great tent! Recently bought a Zempire Pronto 10 as I needed something bigger for family trips but I'll keep the RV3 for just myself or if anybody else needs to use it 👌 It is a nice swag, no shortage of ventilation that's for sure!

Hey Margaret, It's good to be back!...life just keeps getting in the way of regular uploads. Yeah, that chair is great. it's very comfy and packs up much smaller than my regular chair. Oh, I eat plenty! Lol, but I am still trying to loose weight. Cheese, bread and wine and a butter/ olive oil pasta sauce is a 'slimming' day Lol. I've 7 more kilo's to go. ...I'll start again after the holidays! 😎 Merry Christmas!! P.s. Glad you like the music. I no longer use the free music from RUclips as I just paid for a subscription for royalty free music. Money well spent!👍

Thank you! I got it from BCF, it's a slimline insulated air mattress. on top of that I put a thin 'egg shell' foam layer and then a cotton mattress topper. very comfy, insulated from the ground and packs up relatively small.

Hi Robert, The blow up is thicker, so more comfortable but packs up smaller. plus, 'self inflating' mattresses usually require some air too. I've had that axehammer for years! served me well..although it is in need of a good service...re-wrap the handle and hone the blade. I'll get onto that in the next vid 👍

There was one type of giant fly that came around a few times and freaked Digger out...it's harmless but for some reason he really doesn't like them.

Hi Liam, the camp lights are made by Zempire...I bought mine through BCF. They are nice lights and quite robust but one thing I don't like is that the on/off switch is raised, which allows it to be accidentally turned on while packed away. Thanks, Nayan! I loved SA outback...just wish I had more time to explore. I'll be back one day. Not sure which lights you are referring to...maybe the round, hanging ones? They are made by Zempire but I bought mine from BCF www.bcf.com.au/search?q=light+zempire&lang=en_AU They give off a nice light and are quite robust...I've dropped them many times. The one thing I don't like is the on/off button is raised, I've fully charged them, packed them into my kit to only to find they have been on the whole time.

Hi Kevin, Yep, still got the camper, I'll be taking out in the next video. The swag is handy when checking out new spots or those that are too hard to get into while towing. Digger's almost 8 now...but still a puppy! Lol

@@4X4CA Hi Frank. I'm new to the video game as well, also self taught. (seems you have more experience than me lol) As a stills photographer, I would say lighting, composition, exposure etc. As a newbie video editor, I would say keeping people engaged, ie changing filming angles, timing, and telling a great story, which I think you do very well. 🙂

Thanks Sam, I just have one gopro which is fairly limited when it comes to filming. I am just now, literally all day today, starting to learn about ISO, EV, WB etc. I thought I would just 'point and shoot' I now realise I should have got a mirrorless camera..I'll have to make it work for the time being until the channel grows. As you know, its $2k for a basic camera and thats before accessories. 😞 I hope to head out again next week, so it will be a week or two before I upload the next one. 👍

@@4X4CA I'm mainly using the GoPro as well. My main wildlife camera is 5kg with lens, so not ideal for hiking. I will also upgrade to a mirror-less eventually. I'm actually quite impressed by the GoPro. Apart from in low light and closeups, it seems to handle most things pretty well. Have fun on the next adventure. I'm busting to get out there again! 😃

The gopro is a good camera, it just won't do everything I want...i.e. shallow depth of field. For filming outdoors in all weather, beach, mud etc it is very hardy. but yeah, low light is very difficult. I tried to make a video on the motorbike in low light but it was so grainy...need to find the right settings. You can get a macro lens for the gopro I'll keep practising!

Hi, I liked this tent very much. It sets up very quickly and is built from quality materials. They are popular with those who like to do quick overnight stops. It is large when packed up, most owners have to carry it on the roof as its too long to pack inside most vehicles. There isn't much headroom, the roof slopes down from the front to rear of the tent. Oztent make several sizes, so check which orientation you'd prefer to sleep in before deciding which is the right one for you. Keep in mind that as the roof slopes all the way to the ground, useable floor space is reduced dramatically. I would definitely see one in person before deciding which size is suitable for you. Mine was the RV3 (medium-large size) I recommend this tent for its quality build and ease of set up. The other features, or lack of, depend on your particular intended use. I hope that helps. The best part for me is just after setting up, sitting back and taking it all in. Digger loves everything! lol he is always asking for food, he is never full and will eat anything! lol

Hi Suzanne, luckily I brought that piece of log with me, everything was soaked from the overnight rain. It was a hard wood making great coals to cook on…that really was the best bit of salmon I’ve had, if I must say so myself! lol I heard about H. Helena, it must be very scary to go through. We get them here but only much further north in Queensland. Fire is the biggest risk for me camping in thick bush. I’ll try and get back out again sooner rather than later👍
