I moved 3 hours away from my hometown for school and the first 3 months were so hard and I would say school distracted me from feeling homesick. Now its been 3 years and I’m done with school so I started feeling homesick again but I am just now getting more comfortable living here, making friends , going to church, going to therapy 😊 its hard but doable!!!

BEWARE! UK immigration has been raiding hostels and hotels and universities in London. Volunteering or working without the right visa and sponser (which most will not pay) is illegal! So is remote working or promoting your channel! My daughter is a US citizen who is awaiting deportation at a horrible removal prison called Yarls Wood. She committed no crime. They can hold you indefiniately, no court, no appeal, and the embassy cant engage. Please I urge you to check carefully with new immigration law. Please say a prayer for the safe return of my daughter.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Most people on RUclips only talk about their experiences living or studying abroad without sharing their life after. Its a little bit challenging to adapt to the home environment after a long time of being away especially coming from the pandemic

In a way, it's admirable you haven't registered with a GP considering you would have had to pay a huge NHS buy-in fee on your visa (twice). You give but you don't take back, kinda like a reverse Robin Hood. Congrats on your assessment feedback, and you do indeed look beautiful. That storage unit, however, looks crooked. Are you sure your house isn't sinking?

2022 in Manchester I stayed at “student accommodation”, it was on of the “good ones” , I was in a 4 rooms 1 bathroom flat anyway it was really bad experience As an international student living with someone from a very different culture, especially when it comes to cooking part the whole apartment would smell like a rotten fish! Sharing one bathroom with 3 different strangers also wasn’t the best Those students accommodations don’t give you a chance to meet the people who are staying with you, they just put you on a random room So this is something I would never do again in future (during my postgraduate degree ) I would recommend sharing a house not student accommodation , meet the flatmates in advance 👍🏻

This video speaks to me so much in so many ways.. I also didn't make that many friends my first year in college despite putting myself out there a lot.. at the end of my first year I still felt pretty satisfied with what I had done and experienced because I had had so many new experiences and met cool people even if most of them weren't close friends. I was expecting my second year to be even better: expanding my social circles, getting more involved in my clubs, etc. but I had horrible issues with my roommates in the first two months that honestly ruined my year in a lot of ways. Even after these issues were resolved the aftermath, as you said, was so traumatic and I was so overwhelmed with school that I didn't have time to unpack it. I developed pretty rough anxiety and depression and couldn't understand why I simply couldn't be social and open like I was before. But honestly I was being way too harsh on myself, and after talking to my friends who've gone through similar things yeah roommate issues are sooo common and not feeling safe and comfortable in the place you live in is honestly so difficult and horrible. I had to share a bedroom with my roommate who had violated my trust and friendship and I had a lot of trouble sleeping which was compounded by immense academic stress. I started going to therapy in 2023 and I feel like I'm finally healing from all that mess. One of the hardest parts for me, I don't know if this is the case for you, was accepting that it was not my fault at all and that there are some bad things that happen that we just can't control. I relate to what you said about not fitting in at school, I go to a big Midwest state school and while there are cool people here, I was never able to fully "find my people" as it's hard when the majority culture doesn't really mesh with who you are. I'm about to study abroad in France for a year and live in a studio apartment and I'm really optimistic that I'll find my people there! I'm glad you seem to be doing really well and are happy now, and I agree that college is so much more complicated than just the idyllic 4 years that are portrayed in media. For a while I lost hope that I had "ruined" my college years, but I honestly still have half my time left and I think it'll get a lot better.

What you have to remember when you move abroad is that your home country, your friends and family members back home will move on without you because time waits for nobody.

Please don't recommend giant suitcases, because some airlines even for checked baggage have regulations like X+Y+Z shouldn't be more than 158cm, so you couldn't have a giant one but two big ones.

Living abroad is like living in a pararllel world. Life staying abroard seems to be surreal to me once i back home. Everything there is so far away from home with the physical and time difference. It is a very odd inner experience.
