Hello all! In this episode we tackle on some tougher dungeon areas. As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated as there are information you all provide that I may not be aware of. At the moment, I currently need feedback on what follower you all wish for me to use if any. I could try to go solo with no follower. Having one that can tank the enemies will help a lot but will get hit by mage ...

Hello all! So pretty much I am at a position where I need to decide where to go. The college quest requires me to go to a tough location and I need to handle some side quests to achieve arch made status. Of course, if you all want, I can skip that side quest and simply not become arch made. Secondly, Morthal became a dead end once I saw the power spike of the enemies in that location. I could p...

Hey everyone! Good news and bad news! 3.1 is live. Bad news is that it's not save safe. Which means, if I update the game to the newer version, this necromancer lets play is dead. I would have to start over. I could of course, use a cheese method to rush to level 13-14 to give myself a head start. Or I could switch to a completely different build like full mage etc. I could also do a different ...

Unable to Leave Inazuma Bug Fix - Genshin Impact
These are very useful information. I didn't know that armor weight affecting magicka cost. Looking forward to future episodes.
A good personal way of levelling in early game is: Choose 3 skills: - one for damage (one handed, destruction,...) - one for defense (alteration, evasion, heavy armor,...) - one for utility or healing (alteration, alchemy, restoration, archery, speech, smithing, enchanting,...) Up to level 25 you always level them up meanwhile you level other secondary skill that you might need like speech, smithing, enchant or other school of magic. Once they hit 25 you only level up the three main skills up to level 50. Near level 9 you should have all three skill at 50 (even if you started with 10 in all skill). Save points during the early level ups because usually the level 50 perks are worth and can be build defining at early level. For example heavy armor gives less malus from casting and can be really great for armored casters. Schools of magic reaches adept spells that are great,... Once you reach 50 your cap for the skill will be near 59/60, so unless you need a specific perk at those levels (magic school next perk is at level 75 so you can wait up), you can instead spend points on your secondary skills like new magic schools, or smithing/enchanting/speech ecc. In this stage is a good idea to make some money, the best way I found was stacking enough % price more favorable, I think the cap is 100% or something similar. Because at that point you basically print money to buy training for the skills that wants to go over 50. Over 75 is even better to spend money in training as they cost really much. Once they reach 90 is a good idea to use skill books that you hoarded during your playthrough. If you become a follower of Julianos you can read books while meditating and will give you double skill points. Meaning that you could buy training up to level 90 and then use books to reach 100.
how do you get spell reflections in first person? mine only works in third person for some reason, ive tried all the different enbs
Unfortunately I'm not very good with the technical side of Lorerim or individual mods themselves. This may be a good discord question. If I recall correctly, this specific video was captured in the Ultra setting (unlike my other videos) with the default cabbage enb (biggie's version) for Lorerim 2.0.
Magic is for the weak! You are weak!
As seasoned mage/spellblade who turned the discord server upside down searching for info, I must say, this series would save me so many hours of rummaging through tids and bits of info searching about the deities, the eccentrics of requiem and etc, keep up with the amazing content ^^
Thanks! And yeah, I was in the same boat. I had to look over discord for information. I intend to cover as much of the discord stuff as possible with this series, including hotkeys and save/load.
Jesus christ, im getting really sick of creators doing bullshit like this. Where is the next episode? I was gonna binge the next episode now i got to hang out with my wife and kids. I HATE MY WIFE AND KIDS.
:O Sorry, this was a new series I created to gradually make videos to help new players and later experiment with various magic related stuff. More episodes will come soon as I create them but unfortunately I don't have the ability to make all of them quickly as there are lots of things I plan to cover. x_x this one 16 min video actually took me most of the day to create with editing and whatnot. Sorry for the inconvenience, if anything, you could just come back after some time and hopefully by then I'll have enough uploaded for you to binge. :)
@@Mikezodia i was joking mate, im just loving learning. One note: dont assume we know things like “blood knight” or what magic one handed builds exist. Breaking down the basics like you do really helps :)
@ :D Ah. I am glad you are enjoying the series then! And yeah, I suppose that means at some point I may have to include an overview video on the builds as well. I was going to save the closer look at each build later since that would require its own episode to really showcase. x_x But I guess I could create a bunch of early game characters to sorta give an example how each one functions.
Thank you for these. I really enjoy them
No problem! I am glad you like them! Hopefully the future ones will help out too.
First. Keep doing these vids!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed them!
I don't know who told that the side quests were required but i just completed the college main quest and became ARCH MAGE without doing any of the side quests.
Ah. I heard this from both Lorerim discord players and comments on here. Apparently you need to show you are a 'capable wizard' to be considered for promotion. 🤔 Perhaps I don't have to if you're playing Lorerim on a recent version and its not making you side quest. Just to verify, you didn't do ANY other quest except the main storyline ones, correct?
Just recently started my mage playthrough, this info is amazing, thank you! Can't wait to see your next ones!
Thanks and I am glad you found it helpful! And yes, please stay tuned, I will add more content gradually for this series. Some stuff may be common knowledge, but others may interest you.
Excellent tutorial. I’ve never done a mage before and am thinking of a full mage build. I’ve always done spell knights but I’m thinking of doing a full destruction mage.
Full Destruction can be lots of fun, especially once you start lobbing the big spells at clusters of enemies. Not to mention, because of how Lorerim handles the magic system, magic can be extremely powerful compared to it's vanilla counterpart. The main two things to mention are: 1) Enchanting tree can be very helpful. 2) Play carefully around Archers, especially crossbow ones, as you can get one shot quite easily in cloth armor early on.
Since no one mentioned this, I'll say it: the audio was a bit choppy this time, every few minutes there would be like a couple of seconds of your voice missing. Also goddamn the followers/summons in Skyrim are a pain in the ass, always getting stuck on anything, this game is beautiful but it's also held together by spit and duct tape...
Hey! Thanks for this feedback! It's definitely something I want to look into for you. By any chance, could you give me a reference point in the video I can use as an example? There are two things that may be an issue... first I use push to talk, so sometimes I may activate/release it at poor timings, leading to words getting cut off. This is especially true if I have to respond to something in combat. Other times, I literally stop mid sentence due to a brain fart (sorry, ADD here). If it's not one of these, it's probably a mic issue I'll have to deal with so having a reference point will help a lot! Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention though! In general, I'll try to talk a bit more clearly and be more conscious of my push to talk.
@@MikezodiaI don't want to sound like i was complaining, those few seconds were hardly a bother; I'm rewatching the video to give you a timestamp, but it's 2 hours and it's taking me a long time
@@Andre-720 XD No no, it's fine. Commentary is an important part of a Lets Play, so being able to hear me properly is crucial. And if you can not find it, do not worry. When you mentioned it was every few minutes, I got worried that it was majority of the video and I wasn't able to pick it up on my end so I wanted an example. :) I'll just try to be more careful with my Hotkeys to avoid cutting out midsentence if that is the issue.
@@Mikezodia no i was definitely exaggerating, though i managed to find one in the part i remembered 1:52:56
@@Andre-720 Ty! Yes, I see what you mean now. This is poor timing with holding down the push to talk key. This can be due to a hectic combat situation, or simply me not being conscious that I released the push to talk key. Ty for pointing this out though as I need to fix this habit. XD I was unable to bind the push to talk on Ctrl or Shift as they are common keys in Skyrim, so I use the middle mouse (which is power attack and not really applicable with the current build). So sometimes the mouse wheel also slips out of the pressed state. Either way, I'll work on fixing this. Ty for taking the time to show me exactly what you meant!!
fusrodah the sun down there!
Great episode more pls :)
I see that you read my comment about heal on self nice, about killing dragonpriests if you get the cloacks and spells, especially to increase resistances (fire, shock etc. from alteration you can give that to you minions according to the damage type of the priest) also conjured weapons will be necessary for more damage and very important, raising your favor with manimarco will give you 60% more damage with minons and about you magica problem get yourself necromancer necklace/Band of wraith from Siege at Icemoth or become a vampire with the dawnguard quest. Also remember to insvest in wayfarer and speech to alies buffs I love this series keep going it's very entertaining to watch your videos
go to solsteim and get the darkelf that works as a spell sword. he is kind of expensive but one of the best ones out there!
He was actually my go to vanilla favorite. I haven't tried him in Lorerim due to his price range. :D I'll have to consider him as well.
steamrolling skyrim should be the goal! close to lvl 50-60 you should be there. maxing conjuration, restoration and whaever else you want could also be part of the end game! but overall storytelling is an important part of the game and playthroughs in general otherwise it's just an extended build guide xD. Loving the videos man, keep them coming!
id keep inigo around as well everyone needs there witty sidekick but back him up with serana
I think the best follwer for you would be Katana, she is a Frontliner and she is able to do lockpick to you as well and can also make your whole party invisible =P, I do like her but she may be be a little too strong 🤔, most of her abilities are locked behind gaining her trust and doing her quest though. Serana might also be a good option actually , she is a necromancer with the perk that stop bodies from turning into dust, also mostly of the times she summons 2 tanky frontliners as well
Btw, u should try to use the follower menu more frequently, instead of leaving poor Inigo to die eternally you can tp him to you once he falls
Very informative video.can you do more in depth video in magic
Yes! More lessons will be released in the future. At first just basic stuff and then more closer look at builds and different ways to make things.
I love this series man and I look forward to every video and I'm super pumped to see you play through the undead quest mod and also other quest mods like clockwork, AHO, sirenroot etc.
Thanks! As for the other quests, I am always up for suggestions. Just let me know which you prefer seeing and give me the about level range you think I should be to handle it. Also, where to go to start the quest would help too.
@Mikezodia Well I believe for project AHO you need to go to Mixwater mill at around level fifteen where in you'll get attacked by a crazy orcish slaver named Shaglak who'll eventually knock you out and take you to Sadrith Kegran where you'll be put up for auction. Next for clockwork from what I read you have to be level five and you'll eventually get a random encounter where you come up on an apparition which will initiate the quest but keep in mind once you actually get to the clockwork mansion you won't be able to leave until you complete the storyline. So annoyingly you essentially have to wait to get this random encounter and there's seemingly no set location but apparently if you travel a lot around Skyrim you'll eventually get the random encounter so my advice is when you want to start just don't use fast travel and go exploring for a while until it happens. Lastly from what I remember for Sirenroot you start the quest by going to Elgrim's elixirs in Riften where you'll have to talk to an NPC Frissa Black-Briar and FYI there's no level requirement for this questmod as it's a very dialogue centric quest where you'll predominantly be solving puzzles and platforming with a major focus on water mechanics so definitely have the underwater breathing spell. Oh just as an aside you should one hundred percent do the blood on the ice quest so you can get the necromancers amulet.
@Mikezodia Hey just one more thing you should really switch back to Mannimarco because once you reach maximum devotion you're undead deal more damage and regenerate health based on your level of favor which is pretty good. Alright keep up the good work and hey for some reason my first reply to your comment got removed and I have no clue why but I hope you still got it.
@ Unfortunately this is the only reply I got. o_o no idea. Either way, ty for info. I'll consider grabbing mannimarco again.
@@Mikezodia Oh man that sucks, well I guess I'll repeat it so in order to start the project AHO mod you have to go to Mixwater water mill around level fifteen where you'll encounter an NPC named Shaglak which will initiate the quest. For clockwork you'll have to be level five and it's a random encounter that initiates the quest so I'm sure you'll stumble up on it eventually in the wild. Lastly for sirenroot you'll have to go to Elgrim's elixirs in Riften where in order to kick off the quest you'll need to talk to Frissa Black-Briar and there's no level requirement.
can you drop the spell tomes and cast the read spell? or must they be studied?
You must read the tome for required number of hours to 'learn the spell'. Once a spell is learned via spell tome, the tome is no longer needed. The spell is added to your magic list under TAB. You can equip it on the left and right mouse buttons like most weapons and can hotkey them as well.
@@Mikezodia Alright, thanks. I was wondering if you could skip the study (like it really matters) by casting the absorb knowledge spell if you dropped the tomes on the floor.
@ Oh, my mistake, I read that entirely wrong. it's late on my end. No, you can not learn spells by casting absorb knowledge AFAIK. Also, if a book would give you a quest (like red eagle's), it will not activate with absorb knowledge... so careful on missing out on quests.
I'm pretty sure there is a follower Elf lady that lives in a tree near Falkreath that only uses a bow. Even if you give her swords and weapons like that she will only use bows. She would be a good companion for what you are trying to do.
Ah Auri, yeah she is one of my two main companions I used on a previous character. And that is a valid replacement for Inigo once I get expert lockpicking spell as she has two inventories. She could carry lots of stuff.
You can ask her to use daggers in the "let's talk about traveling together" dialogue, still her specialty is obvious bows
@@quironakatsuki9962 I didn't know that about the daggers
So Mike, with your explanation on perk scaling, how would you level perks then? The way you put it makes it sound like holding perks could be good, but obviously you need to spend them as well. Do you have a general rule for when to invest points, or is that in an upcoming lesson?
I could talk about it in future videos, but that would be a bit later, when Im targeting very specific build paths and spell schools. As for your question, the only time you would want to hold perks is if you do not want or are not ready for the next tier spells. This can be because the spells in the next tier are something you do not plan to use (such as melee focused builds) or the spells are too costly for your current magicka pool. Most players would prefer to use the higher tier spells and find ways to manage their magicka consumption, but some (like myself), don't mind spamming weaker spells at smaller enemies until I get better magicka management to run stronger tier. But saying that, you generally always want to aim to use a higher tier as soon as your magicka pool can support it in a hectic fight. Also, when I mention the above, I am using destruction as an example. Other schools may have different rules. For example, Conjuration spells usually last a while and don't require 'spamming', so the higher cost doesn't really matter nearly as much... so getting next tier would be good. In case of illusion, if you're using frenzy, the higher tier spells allow you to target higher level enemies, so getting the next tier spell becomes more important. But if you're using illusion for stealth builds and to get spells like Blend... you can probably get away with not tiering up right away and focus on your one hand / sneak perks. ** Incase you missed it in the intro video, also remember that placing a perk point in one tier, reduces the cost of spells in the NEXT tier by 25%. This will be overwritten by the usual 50% when perking normally. Just figure I throw it out there in case you missed it.
I love this. Mage in skyrim is sometiems so hard for begginers. Ive "played" for 10 years.... but damn, I am still confused with Magic ... i feel like its the hardest of the 3 classes. Would love to see you make "pure" mages in Loreim, talking about why you pick certain things and show you progresing thru the story. Use less cheese if possible... also i can spell relly well
Where is teh next episode? its been 7 hours already. its the weekend, i want to binge 20 episodes. thx.
@ XD sorry. This is one of those slower series to create as I need to plan the order to show things and what to show. lol. I am glad you enjoyed it though. I will try to create another episode soon. :)
Great video. I really appreciated your explanation of spell scaling and how it interacts with the skill tree. I hadn't realized that scaling accumulated per perk tier level like that. Thanks for sharing!
XD Yeah, honestly I found it out recently as well. And no worries, I plan to upload more episodes over time to cover more topics and dive into spell combinations and approaches to various builds. May be things most people know but sometimes you may find a a useful bit of info in the bunch.
As a Mage I knew all of this already and it was still worth the watch.
Thanks! Hopefully future videos may have some useful information for you as well!
As I am currently doing a mage build, mostly summoning focused I will say its kind of hard to self balance it for my preferred difficulty. Some of the stuff is way over powered, some stuff feels weaker.
Yeah, I have to admit some spells are just "wow". As for other spells, my goal with this series is to somehow find ways to apply it. Especially Illusion school since I can see potential for crazy combinations over there.
You do think that restoration is a valid school of magic? Don't, Don't you!!
5:01 "How many points do you want to put into destruction?" "Yes"
LoL. Yeah, this character was for testing so had to max that destruction tree up. XD
I think 1 follower is enough because your build is coming together now. I stopped watching other series because they just add 3 followers build just doesn't matter anymore. And to become an archmage i think you need to master all of the magic schools.
Awesome video you rock big fan of skyrim
Ty. Quick reminder that this video was released back in 2.0 version of the game. Some things were changed/removed. However, the Absorb Knowledge and Giant slaying still applies. I have an even faster leveling video on channel if needed.
I'm amazed at how well that centurion fight went in the beginning! Well done!
XD Ty. Yeah, I got lucky with that Spriggan Reanimation. Sometimes I ask myself why I don't just mix and match the conjuration, using spriggans with skeletons. But then I ask if that would be a true 'Necromancer' lets play. As of now I've only used necromancer themed summons and outside summons were scroll based so I couldn't really abuse it.
Hey Mike im not sure you know but you need to have 90 and higher in all schools of magic to get the Arch mage robes. The quests you need to complete are the ones involving the magic schools.
Hmm. I wasn't worried about the robes nearly as much as becoming archmage since that's a one time chance, either you get it or you miss it. But I wasn't aware of what quests you need to do to become one. You said it involves other magic schools... do you mean I need to get quests from the other mage instructors?
I dont think your character is ready for Labyrinthian. Multiple Dragonpreists, numerous high level Draugr, the Bone Dragon... It's a challenge for sure.
Wow. That's going to be tough. Yeah, maybe I should target some other questline. I might consider Oghma Infinium.
only way you could kill a lvl 140 vampire is skeleton champions with bound warhamer bounce on self and fire/sun cloack adding the spells you usualy use to buff your minions i assure you that you can do it you can also heal you minions with heal undead on self and power of the master and keep spaming healing 👍
Yeah, Morvath is a tough fight. I did it last night in my level 28 Heavy Shout Nord with upgraded Silver Hammer and 4 Followers and it was still a hard enough fight that I had to retreat a couple times to heal. I think if I had had the Fire Breath shout it would have gone a little quicker.
@@genxmonk70 you just need to have some kind of persistent dps(cloacks are the cheaper ones) in order to counter the ammount they heal(a lot)
@GodOfCatsX I mean, I chose massive dps and it worked well. But as a developing Necromancer that isn't using giant silver hammers or destruction magic, it'll be rough for Mike
@ well bound weapons count as silver too soo if he can get hands on a bound warhamer book he will have waaay less problems
@GodOfCatsX I thought Bound counted as Daedric with a fire buff, interesting.
Another cool trick is that the decompose spell in the restoration school lets all of your minions/summons drain hp and heal overtime from the enemy you hit with the spell
I see you trying to reanimate some decapitated body and fails to do so because decapitated body can't be reanimated.
XD Yeah I have a habit of not fully looking at the corpse before wasting magicka on it. Believe the same happens if you chop off a limb.
Let me tell u, labyrinth is crazy. I had a easier time beating Vyrthur (And that guy could one shoot me) than doing Labyrinth on my first playthrough, staff of magnus is totally worth it though, it would solve ur magic problems and it can deal crazy dmg, but for real... I don't think you can handle it currently <<, I didn't wanted to give equip suggestions cause I like to see people using different things, but u should rly look for the Band of Wraith and Necromancer's amulet, these items would give a major boom to your build. Also I forgot to send on your last video but getting magick bolt would also really help you, it's way better to use it while in combat than spamming circle of entropy (maybe that strategy with circle of the moons on the minions would work better though, didn't tested it). I really like your videos men, keep up the good work ^^
Ty! :D Im familiar with necromancer amulet, only reason I didn't get it is because I've been health dumping and that amulet requires magicka investment. However, I don't recall band of the wraith. Is that better than my current ring?
Btw, I am not sure if u know this but two things: 1-If u don't spend all the points when u lv up the remaining points are accumulated on the next lv, like u get 30 per lv up, if don't expend anything once u lv up again u will have 60 points to use 2-Getting the agility perk from evasion will make so clothes have 100 armor rate per piece, it won't show on the item but you can see the difference on the overall armor rate on the bottom of the inventory
@@Mikezodiatrue I forgot about that, guess you could aim for Gauldurs Amulet as a place holder then 🤔, the band of wraith is from the assault on the ice fortress quest and it's veeeery good for conjuration, to start the quest you need to travel to a boat (SW from the boat that takes u to castle volkihar) I think there was a book there that started the quest or u just take the boat directly, can't remember it now. The quest doesn't take too long, but there are lot of side locations to explore, the ring in question is a reward for defeating the final boss though, nothing related to these side locations
If you must update I'd like to see another necromancer, but for a twist one who is more on the 'good' side rather then 'evil' so no siding with the Vampires in Dawnguard or the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood. Just to see how that goes, you can still specialize in undead but that's my two pence on the matter.
674th I was here!
Zen sends his regards.
Let him know I love his nightblade build. Looking forward to seeing his Bard approach.
before finishing the college main quest you should 100% do some radiant quests. without spoiling too much if you dont do those then the college wont know how knowledgeable you are or how powerfull wich could sway them to mak the wrong decition if something were to happen to the current arch-mage!
Damm it, just when it was getting fun.... update if you feel like it, there's no point in continuing the series if you feel forced to do it
:) Don't worry. It seems most of the regular watchers of this series is voting for it to continue. So I'll hold off on the update. I actually enjoy playing Necromancer, my biggest concern was always 1) are people enjoying the series still and 2) will the new update make any video guides I make inaccurate. Since it seems 3.1 didn't many any drastic changes, I can continue working on my mage guide series on the side without worry.
Btw, if u want to truly maximize the value of the skill books, u should get the black book winds of change (the one from the bloodskal blade quest), one of the possible buffs u can use with it is scholar insight, which makes u get 2 skill levels instead of one, u may be able to also mix this effect with Xarxes now that I think about it 🤔, but meh too much work level up the gods all the way again. U should also take a look at the black books effects btw, there are some rly op ones 😉
32:16 use the Squad Control Panel to access his inventory 1:42:00 it's ok to save points remembering that above 75 it's a 6:1 cost
You need a key to get into the next area, its in the door on the opposite end. It is guarded by a guardian construct which I could not hurt, I had gone daedra summoner instead of necromancer my expert level daedra could not scratch it. I gave them bound weapons, they did 10 damage which it instantly regened. I eventually just let them distract it while i looted the chest which had the key. I don't know if mine was bugged or I just need a different damage type. Like maybe its immune to all non electrical damage or something, but i tossed some electrical damage spells at it to no noticeable effect. Maybe that ridiculous sprigan can take it.
:O Ty for the heads up. Hopefully I can beat it with what I have. Worst case scenario, I can try stalling long enough to get the key.
The Mara statue looks different in my Xbox series x modded game. Is that just because of LoreRim?
Could be, Im not familiar with the xbox version. Lorerim adds a massive amount of mods that changes so much.
Dont update please. Finish this one first then update :)
Don't update. You're a good ways into this. Or do update if you just want to change things up because it's not as fun as you wanted The Bard is ok, but it's kind of a meme thing. You only have three instruments and the effects aren't as consistent as I had hoped. So you end up needing to pay support to a group of Followers.
yeah there is no need to update im still at 3.0.17 and no bugs just finish this character then if you want you update and do another character
