Me too, could never afford the real NSK ones etc. Here's the link (www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003658611436.html) to the one I bought (no affiliation, not sponsored, etc) but note a couple things: - You can get the same package without the '90,000 rpm' bit in the title, I'd recommend that (just search around that store) as the 90k rpm is a firmware hack so the display reads 90k but underneath it's just the 50k model, there is no 90k model (I checked the manufacturer's site). - When you order they'll ask what size collet you want for the one-size hand piece; I went with 3mm (instead of 3.15mm / 1/8th inch, the size dremel bits are) as all the high quality carbide/diamond burrs for mold making industry etc are 3mm, and you really want to put high quality burrs in this as any runout that crappier bits have undo the benefits of a micromotor's high rpm etc. Here's a link to a cheap-good set that I use on steel etc just fine (no affiliation etc still, this is a good alie store, I've gotten a lot of stuff from here www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005193070570.html). Or, if you intend to use dental industry bits, ask for the 2.35mm size. Note you can change out the head for different sizes, it's a replacement part so you're not permanently stuck with one size here. - They'll also ask what collets you want for the collet changeable handpiece, I asked for all of them, they asked me to pick three and sent me a link to buy the rest (www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005603800840.html), getting the full set (ie three additional) added $70 AUD to the cost.

Hmmm, in theory they all work in a very similar fashion so light from above should give you a good surface mode picture. Some things to note though: Make sure the lights are above the lens (ie the only light the lens can see is being reflected off the part, otherwise you'd get washed out glare), and you need waaaaaay more light than you'd think. I don't talk about it in the vid but that's two 10 watt leds that have spot lenses on them, so it's 20W of LED light focused into a spot 50mm wide... it's painful to look at, even briefly. When you say 'it doesn't get much better', could you elaborate on what you're seeing/what it's like?

I think it's cast aluminium; it was a bearing retaining ring for the hand wheels on a bridgeport mill, I was tightening each bolt sequentially to get it seated well and even pressure on the bearings, not using much force, then 'pop' and the failure you see in the vid. I ended up turning a new one out of aluminium that's much stronger than the original.

Yep, I'll make all 3D printable designs available for everyone, additionally I'll release the design files (step or f3d) so people can modify it easily to suit their needs. The bearings I'm waiting on got delayed in the post but as soon as I've validated the new design it'll be up for everyone to use

The trick is all the bearings point to the same spot, so I just drew a point in CAD, aimed all the bearings at it, then joined the dots :)
