Request: don't use noise cancelling / noise gate on the audio. It's really hard to hear what you say, and I have to play your video much louder than other videos to understand what you say. I get that you are a small channel, and congrats on 2k5 views for this video! If your computer has separate sockets for microphone and earphones, it might be worth plugging in your earphones in the microphone jack and speak into the left earphone as that should give roughly the same sound quality as your earphones have when listening, which I assume is better than whatever you use as a microphone currently.

Could you check the Multi Terrain Angle? For me it works fine until i start seeding then the LUA enter and I have no idea why. MTA for real maps is must have
Working in EUmap - I am adding farmlands with infolayer in Giants editor. I painted the entire map to unsellable first, then painted farmland 1. I can see it visually in Giants editor painting in different farmlands. I save in Giants editor. I open FS25 and the farmlands are not there. What am I doing wrong?
Have you directed the farmlands.xml in your map.xml or is it still set to data?

The map is looking great and this episode explained how to make the boarders which now makes more sense think I understand what to do now thanks What is a rendered png
its the modified one down from 5000x5000 to your 4097 border and playable! to keep the same height scale i suggest taking the playable from here
@RhodTehMod that's what I thought it could be My 25 1m tiles don't come out square do I need to add more tiles to get a 5000x5000 out of it or is some settings wrong
@ yeah it all depends on what size your tiles are)
They are 1m and look square but when you merge them you get a rectangle
you are missing a row of tiles then :)

I just saw your YT and have a suggestion (could possibly work, like for other 3D game terrains i have done): So that the game map high poly edges fit better to the edges of the 4 low poly border maps - a narrow “high poly strip” could help as an edge connection, which remains on the 2 inner edges of the respective border map. I would have to test the maximum width of the high poly strip at the border edges myself. But it will certainly produce a better edge transition without having to cover it with dense grass etc. first.

Hello, you placed the whole transformGroup "field3" on your field. You better let "field3" at location 0 0 0 and only place "nameIndicator" and "teleportIndicator" on your field. Then the script will create the polygonPoints in the right place. 😉

Great video mate but how do divide the 25 tiles up to make the 4 corners of the border
the tiles you get are usually allready in 1000x1000 tiles from the websites. this is just for merging them in QGIS as per my DEM video
So do you merge all 25 or just some of them for a specific corner
@ all of them to a png file to then edit in gimp

Hey, im currently trying to do this with my map layout, ive made the nurb curve, plane and everything up to 1:36... When i do the modifiers, it will not follow the curve at all, it just ends up doing a straight line forever
@@MatthewTreppel hey bud that’s normal have you set the cursor to your nurbs curve? If you have snap the road to your cursor and it should be following the curve as intended!

I will soon be watching these on repeat to make a map lol. I've always wanted to make southeast Pennsylvania but never understood the editor enough.
It’s a tough learning curve, I’m starting as well. Today I downloaded a blank 4x map and spent 2 hours creating 4 large square fields. It looks terrible, trying to line up the polygon points is cumbersome. You can’t see what you’ve done from point to point. These videos RhodTehMod is sharing are extremely helpful.
@@_Corsa Yeah I agree. Hopefully I figure it all out soon. I've mad maps in many video games before so it can't be TOO hard, right?

Great video, the only thing I can't seem to iron out is how to get that smooth terrain from the DEM. I have saved it to a png from QGIS, converted the .tif to a .png using a converter (adobe) and I always end up with bumpy terrain... messing around with the bit depth didn't seem change anything either. Was there a specific converter you used to convert the file to a png?
yes there was buddy as stated i used one by Ola Haldor, hes a great mapper and makes some great tools for easing map making progress and unfortunately is only accuired by his patreon!
But as you can see it is 100% worth it!

Oh i think i checked it out briefly but got turned off cause I had to pay for a subscription (I know, I know, im cheap), I didn't realize it would lead to a smooth map, perhaps I'll ut a few dollars into it, would definitely be worth the time, I spent hours smoothing and sculpting terrain on my last map.. thanks
FS 22 = 4 texture FS 25 =2 texture layers
I do think this could be a very good map, the detail in the terrain is amazing. I havent seen a map started with that level of detail, which should then show through on the end result.

Hello, I will try to this on Poland map. I used Geoportal (online software) and get DTM data download to get the file TIFF. In this software I can only chose the area (in km2 of course) and after the TIFF file was download and I used QGIS and do what You said I cant change the resolution on file to 3000x 3000 and 250 pi. I can save under 300 and 400 pi what gives (after convert file in gimp to dem.png) wrong heigt in Giants Editor. I want to do my real place in Poland (Górki village) in 4x. You are 99% there buddy! The height scale you need to set up in giants yourself. So within QGIS you need to see what the highest height is and the lowest and subtract the smallest from your highest to get the height scale For example 50 is your top 20 is your bottom 30 is your height scale :) hope this helps let me know

@@RhodTehMod I dont know where is the change of scale. I have ony bumpy terrain. I know this terrain in real and this is not just like in the GE. I dont know what I do wrong.

@@paolocucinotta7645 yeah it should still work but you will have lumps in the terrain were the buildings would be! I think this answers your question! If not ask away

@@BagOfWetNugs what are you trying to get rid of? You need to use the terrain detail part of the foliage and the type of crop for it to dissapear
@ I’m i’m trying to get rid of the fields to replaced the whole map with the grass
@ yeah that’s what you need to do with terrain detail, then you can use texture paint mode next to terrain sculpt to paint it to grass

Great video thank you. I'd like to create an error free US 4x. There are a few on 3rd party sites tons of warnings, with hundreds of square fields. I think the perfect US 4x map would have 20-30 large fields.

@@emilholm2317 generally roads are 7.2 m wide and 3.6 for single lane roads refer to my road video

First time playing FS, not a modder. Wonder is there a size limit to how big a map can be ? 20 miles/kilometres square, or some value ?
@@nemesis851_ they go in 2x standard so shouldn’t exist 4x 8x 16x 32x and so on. (Used to) I think 4x - 8x would be the limit for fs25 due to ground deformation but I’m not 100% sure

Hello, please tell me how in giant, when I change the texture on a certain material, so that they change immediately on all objects with the same material? Previously, in the editor for 22 fs this worked for all materials, but here you need to set it for each one separately..
@@BohdanLetsPlay you need to change the colors and names of items you make through blender etc as you’ve joined an object with the same name of material! Hence them all joining
@@RhodTehMod But the blender does not allow them to be made identical, for example, if you name the material, Road01, and make a duplicate of the item, then the blender adds .001 to the name, and in the editor itself, when I change materials, objects with the same material must be changed each separately, and this takes a lot of time, sorry if I misunderstood you, I’m using a translator
@@BohdanLetsPlay no you need to remove all materials to the ones that have .001 and 002 etc and add. A single one since it’s been mapped.
