Oh hey I’m back
Only took me 3 years to make this video, but felt like it was needed due to the massive influx of STUFF from Geoff in recent years and the lack of any update videos on his range as of late
Questionable Notes:
E5 - Bro Country Live - probably just a random unintentional pitch
X1 - Random growl slides - non-melodic, brief, unintentional pitches not worth counting
A0 - Enemy slide - i debated this one for a while but decided its final pitch was likely unintentional and too brief to count. I did count this in my Bass Singers Lowest & Highest Part ...

Bass Singers: Lowest & Highest Notes - Part 2

Oh hey a part 2 A compilation of bass singers with their lowest and highest countable notes (ish, it's very rough) Some singers featured may have a wider range than what's stated... in that case, I either couldn't find their highest/lowest (sorry), or they are able to sing higher/lower, but haven't showcased this either at all or in a significant example There were a few other singers that coul...

*REUPLOAD* The former bass man of the multi-platinum selling vocal harmony group The Overtones turned solo, Lockie Chapman’s voice is instantly recognisable with his warm and sultry bass tones, while also possessing the ability to sing soulful and powerful lead parts with his trademark grit and open ‘ah’ sound. Since 2019, Lockie departed from The Overtones after the tragic death of the band’s ...
Low (ish) Note Compilation | E2 - C2

Yeah just a bit of a shithouse video showcasing some random low notes I’ve collected over the past few months. Not necessarily from any genre/singer/group/whatever. Not really a very remarkable video in all honesty. Most singers aren’t basses, but needed something quick n easy to come back with while researching other singers. Not expecting big views or anything for this. Some notable fun voice...

Oktavism & Basso Profundo Compilation | C2 - C1 | Part 2
Просмотров 125 тыс.3 года назад
“Simply put, the term oktavist is most precisely used to refer to basses that sing down to contra B flat and lower in a choral setting. Basso profundo is Italian in origin, and has a long history of clear definition within the operatic tradition, being subdivided into the categories of lyric and dramatic. While the term basso profundo comes from Italy and the opera tradition, oktavist has its r...
Jeff Chapman - Vocal Range

“Jeff Chapman is a long-time southern gospel singer, formerly singing bass for the Anchormen, and currently for the Kingdom Heirs. He manages to maintain a very chesty sound throughout his entire range, even down into the lower first octave. His higher range, while not utilised terribly often, manages never to sound strained, but instead retains the same power he uses to project the lower part ...

“In 2017, Avi stepped away from creating after years of rushing from stadium to stadium at a frenzied pace-an experience he calls “beautiful,” but one that also left him physically and artistically depleted. Taken from Oktvism.com: “Mikhail (Motja Moiseevich) Zlatopolsky (1934-2001) was born to a Jewish family in Tashkent. After the Revolution, when the Orthodox singing moved into the category of marginal employment, the number of oktavists sharply declined. Soviet oktavists enjoyed intense demand: during the Brezhnev era, Moscow choirs outbid each other for Zlatopolsky as the star player. Zlatopol...

People laugh at Rebroff's bass but man that's solid. There's so much resonance.
to be fair it's a growl. but a very solid one
this is amazing:) im happy i found this video:)

What happened to his TRP thread? I have been searching for it but it seem to be deleted.
@@Nipsu78090 I believe he only had a thread on the range place, it never got moved over to the range planet when the site changed. Last time I checked, you can still access it if you had an account on therangeplace. Regardless, it was a highly unfinished list with only about 2 albums of his work on there
@@matthewdockray9745 I thought it was The Range Planet thread. But okay and thanks!
My modal range is F1 - F#5. I am working on subharmonic F0s atm.
It's so funny to me, hearing him sing high and then have him return to his really bassy speaking voice. Just... The dichotomy. Top shelf
Это невозможно перестать слушать. Магическое воздействие! Спасибо!
I am trying to find a Russian bass that the Philharmonia chorus (and orchestra) sang with many years ago, at the RAH (I remember the dressing rooms and getting lost, but managed to get his autograph 😀- I was young! - anyway, he was Ah-mazing. Gravelly. Resonance like a barrel. Dark hair and very stocky, if that helps. 30 odd years later, I still remember him. But not his name ... 😢
At 8:28 Geoff looks like leon from resident evil. Great job was waiting for a good video of his vocal range

My lowest note. LOL.
I know this was way before but geoff hits an E1 chest in his cover of you dont mess around with jim at around 2:07 in that video
Debatable whether it reaches E1. I wouldn’t count it anyway
I wish my G#1 was this strong but then I'm a lyric baritone not a bass / bass baritone.
Can we talk about the fact that Geoff actually reached the Bb5, the same note as Roger Taylors famous "for MEEEEEEE" in Bohemian Rhapsody?

I wonder why it seems like a higher concentration of these voices come from Russian singers. Is it because this is more of a staple in their contry or do their men have a greater ability to do this genetically?
