For me, I think the real takeaway from TB's night is that the Pacers now have enough to survive one of those games where Myles gets into early foul trouble. I like Moses Brown for what he is and Enrique Freeman has some potential but there's no way you'd feel good about a situation where one of them was your lone backup 5 and MT picks up two quick fouls early. With TB, they can at least keep their head above the water in that scenario, and that's great. Also, I don't know if the stats say this anymore but I know in the past it was a thing that good college shooters who project as NBA role players don't usually hit their shooting potential until year three or four, so I have zero worries about Shep's shot at this point.

  • @kalu8652

What do you guys think of a potential Cam Johnson trade? I think it solves a lot of our issues (roster logjam, missing an elite shooter in the starting lineup that Ty can just farm assists off of, actually getting a true SF instead of playing an SG or PF there). Kind of a win-now and a development move at the same time, because shipping say, Nesmith+Obi and picks or whatever, gets Jarace, Shep and Mathurin more minutes (development) while making us better now. Johnson is kind of just a 6'8 Buddy who isn't terrible a D. We have other guys who can shoot 3s but most (Mathurin and Nembhard in particular) hesitate on catch and shoot 3s. Our most willing catch and shoot 3 guys are all on the bench (Obi, Shep, Jarace).

We're playing much better, I'm very happy with the improvements on both ends of the floor. Still puzzled why we couldn't start the season like this, but I'll take it. If we continue on this sort of trajectory we'll be top 4-6 by year's end, a few unfortunate injuries to teams like the Bucks/Knicks and we will catch them up. We lived in Indiana until 2017. We now live in Tampa and love living here. I still support my Pacers by watching FanDuel and using a Indiana zip code lol. I went to my first Pacers game in 1989 when I was 7 years old. My wife and I used to go to a Pacers game every year for our anniversary. We would drive from Fort Wayne to Indy and get a nice hotel room downtown. We would go to a bar across the street from the fieldhouse to drink cheap then go to the game then go and celebrate at Kilroys. The main part of this is as we got more stable in our careers our seats got slightly lower and lower until we were a few rows up 10 or so. I remember after one game I wanted to meet Chris and Quinn. I went up to Chris and you are right he was just so kind and didn’t have to take time to talk with us but he did. He took a picture with my wife and I and it was a great memory. The next year he remembered us and mentioned my daughter so I knew he remembered. We are all flawed humans but he seems to be genuinely one of the nicest people in a big money cut throat business. Side note Quinn was kind and funny too! It was right before JJ and we met Stacy as well. Lastly congrats on your new baby. They really are a blessing from God. They teach us to love selflessly, have patience, and do what’s best for them even when that’s not what THEY want, just like he does for us❤. Enjoy the ride.
