I told him I was calling from Virginia Beach, and he still treated me like one of his customers. He stayed on the phone for about 20 minutes graciously answering all my questions and concerns. @@miamiwaterheater2281my neighbor has the 18kw water heater for a 3br 1 bath apartment and he said in the winter when temperatures drop below 30 degrees the water heater struggles to keep water warm when showering he increases temp to 130* and reduces inlet water pressure by almost 50% just to take a hot shower. he also changed shower head from a 12inch water fall shower head to a small water saver shower head 🚿 so he can take a hot shower. the cone on the top is just to dilute the flue gas going up the stack. it will not cause an explosion. It is an important part but not the most important the flames will get their combustion air and the flue gas will go up the vent and out. With dilution the vent pipe will not be very hot, without dilution it will get hot and better not be touching flammables

    • @miamiwaterheater2281
      @miamiwaterheater2281 3 месяца назад

      I agree in part with what you are saying but we have seen the vent put directly on the heater without the diverter and what happens is a pop (explosion like sound) in the sealed burner chamber which in turn breaks the TRD. this is a best case scenario.

    Good video, good information, and I clicked on the link.......Great prices!!! Just wondering, I'm retiring and moving to Michigan and will be installing a soaker tub. Is it worth it to consider a tankless, should I get two, or should I go with a traditional tank water heater? Thanks for the video and info.

      for a soaker tub i'd recommend a tank heater because a tankless would work but it would take a really long time to fill

    This company is genius. This is how you build a brand and generate a ton of Google juice. You should be taking notes if you are a small business owner.

    Thanks, great info! Does it help to know what's on site at the moment? I have a 40 gallon tank, 4,500 W and 240 V. One double pole 30 amps. Central Florida, two people, two bathrooms house, but only one shower in use, so I think an 8 or 11 will be good? Is this a whole house unit? What are the requirements? Will I need to change wires, etc? Do you happen to work in Central FL, or ship here? Thanks for any help, I've been taking cold showers for a week now, lol! Still trying to understand. Also, how about condensing and non-condensing units?🥴

      Yes the 13 will work. You will need 240 volts 60 amp breaker. Yes you will need to change the wire to 6 gauge

    So, my new water heater did not come with that, nor did the old 11 year old water heater I replaced. Is that OK? Double wide by the way

      Manufactured home or mobile home water heaters. Have a closed combustion set up. There is a direct vent pipe that goes through the floor under the water heater down about 18 inches and that’s where the water heater draws in air from. the vent pipe that’s connected to the top of the tank does not have a vent cap like your showing, It is sealed closed up to the roof.

      @@manders78 That is what we see on our modular manufactured and set in 1997. An unused hood vent is sitting right next to the closed system outlet. The outlet is double flue to the cathedral ceiling. Thing is when it gets super windy out of the West, the wind will blow the pilot out. WH is in the very NE corner so it may be getting a down draft off the ridge plus sidewinds. Basic roof with gables North and South. It has a roof top-thing on it that looks more than basic but.. here I am at 8000 feet in the high desert seeking a cure.
