SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 good Helpful, attentive, & professional staff. The checkin speed can be improved substantially, but I was plenty satisfied with the customer service & hospitality. Early checkin was available for free & late checkout of 30m was offered. Parking was available (conveniently onsite) albeit a bit expensive. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great The lobby area is quite large, has visibly high cleaning standards, & feels very inviting. Elevators are speedy, spacious, & well-maintained. Corridors are wide, have a great design aesthetic & frequent upkeep. ROOM [King Studio] -- 👍 great I like that they've opted for a do-not-disturb magnet instead of the flimsy & unsanitary door-knob paper signs. The relaxation theme is very strong & well-executed; scents, textures, & furnishings create an incredibly calming, upscale apart-home vibe. The unit was comfortably spacious for 2 or more, featuring tons of seating options & tabletop space. Lighting was excellent, the flooring was well-maintained, & the windows (although not functional) were clean and nice for people watching. Cons: The AC is capped & not very performant. Strange HVAC design here. BED -- 👍 great Some of my best sleep in months. Very supportive mattress with a great firmness level. Top layers were cozy, comfortable, & soft dressed with high quality bedding. Fresh & exceptionally clean. The bed side USBC outlets were a major plus. Cons: the bed is directly under a vent which some might find unpleasant if you prefer more indirect vs direct air blowing on you. BATH -- 👍 great Medium-sized eco-friendly bathroom with motion activated lights & great water pressure throughout. The shower was very streamlined but pre-stocked with Pharmacopia bath products. Cons: towels are on the smaller side; no bathrobe; single spray pattern shower head WI-FI -- 👍 great Complimentary Wi-Fi was unencrypted but very performant. Great for multiple devices & use cases. --Performance-- Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - GREAT --Nerd Stats-- 187-210 Mbps download 180-197 Mbps upload 0.9 % packet loss 5-8 ms latency 1-2 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good Not DoorDash friendly, & not a big deal. There's a full kitchenette at your disposal containing dining-ware sets for 4, double-burner stovetop, & full-sized microwave-- I made some delicious hot pot! They do offer breakfast, however, it's chaotic & poorly implemented. The crowd/lines back up to the elevator, the seating area is very limited, & the spread is odd (lots of starches w/few condiments). NOISE -- 👎 poor Not one of their strengths... Walls are thin & sound leaks in heavily from the hallway. While the ceilings are high, noise echoes loudly due to the hardwood flooring. Get the highest floor possible & pray for quiet neighbors. RECOMMENDATION & RATING Final Price: $194.25/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: accommodations Not the quietest place to staycation but the accommodations & hospitality make it worthwhile. I would stay here again & recommend it to anyone considering the airport area. 4/5⭐️

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 ok An "empty" vibe, forgettable customer service, & dreary atmosphere. I didn't get the impression anyone 'wanted' to be here. Furniture has also seen better days. No negative interactions, just a severe case of "going through the motions". Parking was conveniently located. Coin-operated laundry services were available onsite. MVP employees: N/A ROOM [Deluxe King]-- 👎 ok Turnover seemed rushed, or the cleaning standards just aren't particularly high: visible dust bunnies & debris on the carpet 🫤. The layout was rather odd & the design just didn't seem to fit the space. Lighting was also weak. tl;dr accommodations aren't as "dreamy" as depicted online. We did appreciate the modern aesthetic & functional windows; great vantage points for people watching. BED -- 👍 good satisfactory. Nothing screamed "WoW", but sheets were clean, mattresses were in good condition, & comforters were... well, comfortable. BATH -- 👎 poor Dimensions were generous & the space was clean, it's just woefully underutilized. Completely lacking in (any) design. Plumbing was frustrating: the temperatures were wildly unpredictable-- ⚠️scolding hot water occasionally ran when using the cold setting⚠️. Water pressure was weak everywhere else. TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- 👍 ok Great display; bad mount... Not a great viewing experience due to the 90 degree angle from bed to TV. This installation wasn't fully thought out & it shows. Otherwise, it's a gorgeous Samsung model, programmed with a feature-rich TV OS & streaming functions. Clean gym facilities & a decent-sized indoor pool, open 6am-930pm, can be found in the back. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Unencrypted (free) WiFi has great QoS, although speeds are meager. This was good enough for us so we didn't bother with Premium. There's also a business center in the lobby, so plenty of options for connectivity & computing👨‍💻. Cell reception was great (Verizon). --Performance-- Video streaming - great Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 9-15 Mbps download 9-16 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 5 ms latency 25 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 ok Breakfast takeout was available onsite (Bowline Canteen). Their menu was accommodating for dietary restrictions, however the convenience doesn't justify the price tag (2 entrees = ~$40). The Market sundries shop offers enough snacks to hold you over if needed (water was overpriced, use the fountains instead💡). The community microwave is located here too. There's a Trader Joe's + a number of restaurants within walking distance. in-room: ❌ microwave ✅ mini-fridge (small) ✅ coffee/tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE -- 👍 great One thing I do enjoy about Sonesta's are the designated quiet hours. As expected, noise was not an issue. LOCATION -- 👍 great The height of this stay was discovery the many restaurants, clothing stores, grocers, movies, & mall nearby. We felt safe here & the surroundings were well-patrolled at by night. RECOMMENDATION & RATING Final Price: $130.20/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: Location An underwhelming property in a heavily underrated location. For the experience we had, this stay was overpriced & hollow. It's a great area for shopping & a movie date, so I don't regret it. The suites & other configurations seem enticing but I don't see myself returning. Lukewarm recommendation. 3.5/5 ⭐️

    # 235. UPDATE; MUCH more redeeming the 2nd time around SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great A consistently spotless property with warm & welcoming staff. Diana was awesome & single-handily ran the show; the reservation system went down for a day, yet she handled it like a pro. Reviews speak highly of her already, so this was no surprise👌. MVP employees: Diana ROOM [Double Mountain View, King Mountain View] -- 👍 great Looked clean. Smelled clean. Felt clean. Effectively identical to the Double Queen layout. It includes another table & chair, so you don't have to eat where you work (the workspace can be tight). Got a lot of work done this week! Amazing view this time around. BED [King] -- 👍 good All clean & fresh sheets during our second go-around + excellent sleep. BATH -- 👍 great Turnover this time was magnificent. TV SOLUTION/ACTIVITIES -- 👍 good 55" unmounted Samsung HD TV setup & OEM remote. Smart functionality is disabled, but it's easy to connect a GoogleTV/Chromecast. We explored the indoor pool this time around & it was quite nice. The hours were very accommodating: 6am-11pm WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 ok Hilton's typical complimentary unencrypted free wifi (~10mbps). It's "serviceable"... Thankfully carrier (Verizon) speeds & reception were strong enough to hotspot. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - good Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 5-11 Mbps download 7-11 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 7 ms latency 1 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good The dining/bar area had such a classy vibe & the level of cleanliness was exceptional. Breakfast was pricey ($20 buffet) but it's filling, made fresh daily (not from frozen), & paired with a variety of fresh juices. The breakfast staff were remarkable, adding another degree of sophistication to the overall experience. One area of improvement is the signage: labels, descriptions, & allergen information is very important; especially with a dynamic menu like this. It would also save a lot of time & reduce high-contact touchpoints 💡. in-room: ✅ microwave (mini) ✅ mini-fridge (small) ✅ coffee/tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE -- 👍 great No complaints during the entire week. LOCATION -- 👍 great Felt safe in this space as a minority. Love the walkability: a shopping center is a block away, and Safeway is a little further than that. Solid restaurants nearby too, especially the shabu shabu. RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $118.22/night Was it worth it? Yes Best part: accommodations Not much has changed since staycation # 146., except that they raised the bar in hospitality again. A redeeming & even more enjoyable stay the second time around. Looking forward to the next one! Highly recommended. 5/5 ⭐️

    # 146 SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 good Great atmosphere & customer service upon walking in. Strong efficiency & management displayed by staff. Checkin was fast but the fee for early checkin was $50. Absurdly high (25-30% of room rates) & unfortunately not worth the caliber of room we received. Thankfully parking & the late checkout was free (2hr). Tap payment accepted here. TRANSITIONS -- 👍great The lobby was exceptionally clean, large, & had fully stocked snacks prominently on display. Elevators are in great condition, fast, & spacious. Transitioning to your room feels very fluid & pleasant walking down the wide corridors. ROOM [double, mountain view; king, Mountain View] -- 👍 good We booked a Double Queen room with the "Mountain View". The view can be hit or miss depending on floor & angle of room; not consistent enough to charge a premium IMO. Typical L-shaped room, semi-spacious for 2, with high ceilings & good lightening (natural, overhead, lamps galore). ample storage, surface, & seating options. Waste receptacles are unusually small & AC (terminal) gets loud. BED -- 👎 poor We slept in the double queen configuration. The Hilton bed pattern (house brand linens, pillow build, etc) is always comfortable & consistent in quality (soft and breathable). Cons: I didn't enjoy the duvet due to its rough surface. The choice of base, made from an aluminum or steel like material, was noisy. There were stains on our sheets, so not the greatest attention to detail during turnover either. BATH -- 👎 poor The turnover wasn't great (again), visible hair, oil, dirt, dust, etc along walls + door. Their sliding door installation was also poor. The pocket door pull is only partially accessible while the door is fully closed, making it difficult to open (might explain the lack of cleaning). Nice streamlined glass shower stocked with Gilchrist & Soames ZERO% products & there multi function (5) shower head delivered great water pressure. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great 55" Samsun HD TV unmounted setup & OEM remote. Smart functionality is disabled, but it's easy to connect a GoogleTV/Chromecast. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 ok Hilton's typical complimentary unencrypted free wifi (~10mbps), no surprises here. 5Guw carrier (Verizon) speeds delivered in this area & reception was good. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - good Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 5-11 Mbps download 7-11 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 7 ms latency 1 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good DoorDash friendly property so you can comfortably rack up those partner points. Breakfast onsite (until 9am) costs $18. There are also snacks & drinks available for purchase on the first floor. Mini microwave and small mini fridge provided in-room, along with bottled water ($3 for non-members!). NOISE -- 👍 great Perfectly quiet LOCATION -- 👍 great Safe & close to a delicious shabu shabu; ideal for work visits, conference stays, etc RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $118.22/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: interior design Good customer service & room rates; not-so-great room turnover. It's still a competitive property with a lot of convenience. I don't recommend arriving early due to the extraordinary checkin fee, but it's a fair choice when in town for business. 3.5/5⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Infectiously kind & personable employees that operate a fast & efficient checkin flow-- blink & you'll miss it! Customer service was consistently professional in-person & via phone. Early checkin was free & ditto for late checkout, up to 1hr.
TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great A dazzling interior curated by expert aestheticians. 🤩 The vibe was heavily old-world glamour & we were impressed with the grandeur of this lavish lobby & building architecture. Transitions felt equally classy inside golden elevators & carpeted halls. ROOM [Executive King] -- 👍 ok Comfortably spacious guest rooms with a modern design, featuring your favorite shades of hotel-brown /s. What it lacks in design, it certainly makes up for in function: sliding windows, blackout shades, a huge workspace, ergonomic seating & a wonderful view. It was oddly deficient on storage for such a deluxe room; the closet space in this one was awkward & off-putting. There were a lot of small pests in our room which was upsetting. They mostly kept towards the curtain area so we didn't complain, but we had to be extra strategic about food. BED (king) -- 👍 great Really really REALLY great sleep.... This Posturpedic Plush line is a 10/10 & one of my favorites. Linens were equally premium, featuring some patented centrum core tech -- Super soft. Layered with pillows that felt like tiny clouds; sufficiently dense with a supportive medium fill. And a fluffy duvet to tie it all together. Glorious~. BATH -- 👎 poor A rollercoaster of emotions... Pros: HUGE space, luxurious deep-soaking alcove tub, designer bath products (Essential Elements), soft cotton-blend (70/30) bath robes. Cons: Low/inconsistent cleaning standards (Black mold in shower; dirty grout; Calcium buildup on shower head), inconsistent & weak water pressure, rusty vents, & poor ventilation. The tub experience was phenomenal & worth procuring a few bath bombs/salts, but as a whole this bathroom was unsatisfactory. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 ok A Samsung FHD 48" TV with basic programming on swivel stand. It's an older model so YMMV for Google TV / HDMI devices. Overall quality was fair but it's dimensions are imbalanced for this size room. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 great Best hotel wifi in all of Portland--and it's free! I wish it was more secure, but no complaints otherwise (take note Hotel Bidwell...). Great reception throughout the building. --Performance-- Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - GREAT --Nerd Stats-- 128-380 Mbps download 100-368 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 8 ms latency 3 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 poor Severely limited wrt convenience & utility. Not DoorDash friendly. Tiny mini fridge & coffee bar in the room. The (only) community microwave is accessible in the lobby. Ice machines available on guest floors. NOISE -- 👎 bad We really felt the noise in this one...: Service-vehicles, loud unhomed, traffic, etc. Street level conversations were audible from 6 floors up! Terminal AC is louder than most installations I've seen. RECOMMENDATION Final price: $161.54/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: WiFi More consistency & attention to detail would go a long way here. It has a great "feel" but we didn't hit the room lottery. I'd try it again if the cleaning standards / pest control improved. Too risky for a recommendation if any of the above details are dealbreakers for you. 3/5 ⭐

SERVICE -- 👍 great Check-in was fantastic & included a tasteful welcome package (habanero-lime chocolate & alkaline water). Courteous, professional, & consistent quality service. Everyone I interacted with -- bellman, waiter, hostess, bartender, in-room dining team, even the customer service operator over the phone-- demonstrated absolute excellence in hospitality & customer service. They effortlessly cater to even tiny requests and ensure you really feel like a guest & not a commodity. Elevators were fast & moderately sized but the custom keycard is slow to read. ROOM [Deluxe Skyline View King](instagram.com/reel/CvFZohqslVt/) -- 👍 great Spotless, spacious, beautifully designed, and well-maintained. Its unique mix of traditional + modern patterns, was a vibe. Rooms on this side also receive tons of natural light from the balcony. And ofc, the view of the south channel/shoreline from this angle was lovely. A very comfortable accommodation for a solo staycation, minus the limited (dresser) storage space. It's a notable workcation choice as well thanks to the IP phones, ergonomic chairs & generous tabletop space. *The AC system is very underrated; quiet, powerful, & eco friendly! BED -- 👍 great A formidable mattress that really delivers on sleep quality. The duvet was a bit lackluster (not particularly soft nor had a cozy weight) but still comfortable. Overall it was a clean and cozy bedspread with ample pillows. Bedside utility was fantastic: Accent lights abode the bed + lamps affixed to the headboard. And aniHome bedside power hubs for charging multiple devices with different wattages. Corner guards on the base were also a nice touch. BATH -- 👍 great Absolutely fantastic attention to detail and functionality. The extra-large vanity mirror, framed with dimmable LEDs, complements the deep sinks and sleek, ergonomic handles perfectly. The sandy porcelain Calcutta stone tile pattern creates a luxurious, spa-like atmosphere right in the room. The DEEP 70" adjoining tub was perfect for a long soak, coupled or solo, & bath bomb worthy. The walk-in shower featured a high-end 3-piece designer (Natura Bisse) bath set, a generous shower hose and multiple spray patterns to choose from. It delivered a rejuvenating shower experience thanks to the strong water pressure & FAST heating temps. Towels were excellent, and the bathrobe was simply divine-made from a 100% microfiber shell, it’s incredibly soft and breathable. A perfect match for this climate. The closet toilet felt like an afterthought, though the toilet paper is surprisingly high quality compared to standard professional-grade options. Grout lines seem hit-or-miss + some of the tile in the toilet-closet were stained/dirty. Another oddity is the lack of hooks to encourage towel reuse. TV -- 👍 great 50" HD flat screen TV on a robust wall mount. User-friendliness of the entertainment center was exceptional. A Guestlink media hub is built into the work desk, providing a plethora of inputs & ports. Screen share & casting supported are enabled + other pre-programmed functionality. Wi-Fi -- 👍 good 1 premium ($15) tier in addition to the complementary Wi-Fi option. The QoS for mobile devices was fine on the free tier & throughput was adequate for work. 25-29 Mbps download 25-27 Mbps upload FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great Very knowledgeable & accommodating for food allergies! The protein portions are on the smaller side but the cocktails are strong and it's a DoorDash/UberEats friendly location. I especially enjoyed the Peaches and Cream French toast (Gluten Free). The minibar was more traditional & limited on the snack selection but stronger on the beverages; filled to capacity with spirits and other drinks like apple juice & Red Bull. There's a generous amount of bedside bottled (glass) water too. Wine glasses + bottle opener were also provided. NOISE -- 👍 great Not a peep. Housekeeping staff are also silent and all employees consistently honor the "do not disturb" status. No complaints. RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $316.00/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: Hospitality Masters of hospitality that deliver an experience worth every penny. Highly recommend it & will be returning to blog about other room configurations. Favorite hotel this year (2023) 5/5⭐

SERVICE -- 👍 great Check-in was a breeze-under 4 minutes-- & the self-service parking was conveniently located. The building exterior was so unassuming considering the wondrous decor inside. Words pale to capture how well-curated the equestrian vibe was. The housekeeping and reception teams were incredibly helpful and prompt, reflecting a truly top-notch level of hospitality. Spa services were wonderfully relaxing, but It was impossible to book a massage for the same-day or week. ⚠Plan ahead if these interest you even a little! ROOM [Classic, Two Queen Beds] -- 👍 great Gorgeous tiling, impeccably clean, & spacious. A comfortable accommodation for a working couple thanks to the generous closet & tabletop space. Ergonomics were outstanding for completing work or creating content. Lighting (energy-efficient♻) was also excellent, complemented by the functional windows ☀. It's rare to have a full-length mirror so we employed that little design detail a lot. The Smart AC system was another nod to how well-designed & eco-friendly this property was. A lack of recycling receptacles in the room was surprising in the respect (hopefully everything doesn't go to the same place 🙏). BED [Queen] -- 👍 great A terrific bedspread consisting of soft, clean, linens made from high-quality materials. The cotton duvet was so cozy & the microfiber sheets were dreamy😌. Mattresses were in peak condition & the wooden frame was sturdy + aesthetically pleasing thanks to the leather headboard & overhead reading lights. They provide a generous amount of duck down pillows with Hypo-Allergenic pillows available upon request. Great sleep every night! The protruding ends would benefit from corner guards, so watch your shins!⚠ BATH -- 👍 ok A clean & highly functional space featuring a gorgeous vanity & beautiful brass accents everywhere. The shower experience was disappointing due to the clogged drain, coarse towels, & robe condition (texture was inconsistent). I didn't care for the Cupola (House-brand) bath products either; not a fan of 'mystery' solutions (no ingredients list or labels). Still, the installation is praiseworthy: A huge walk-in shower with a lovely granite bench, strong water pressure, & spa-quality hand shower. Ventilation was strong too. TV -- 👍 ok 50" HD Samsung flat screen smart TV. No Apps, but casting is available via Getstreaming.tv Installation of the wall mount was disappointing, considering the dimensions & viewing angles in a Double room. It was also a hassle streaming (local) content when the network is congested. WI-Fi -- 👎 poor Complimentary Wi-Fi was a struggle... Its readily apparent when there's congestion; not ideal for remote work or reliable streaming 😞. Poor QoS for mobile devices leads to constant disconnects & the cell reception wasn't great. --Nerd Stats-- 25-42 Mbps download 13-21Mbps upload FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great DoorDash/UberEats friendly but very few options & they're all 45-55m away⚠, Instead, enjoy the incredible dinner menu by executive chef Scott Savage; I recommend the Pork Belly and Salmon entree. The House sangria was also a win (the jalapeño Paloma not so much). A Bel-Air grocer is next door as a last resort & for water. The in-room water was $7🥺. in-room: ✅ microwave (mini) ✅ mini-fridge (small) ✅coffee/tea ✅ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE/LOCATION -- 👎 ok Generally quiet but occasionally pretty noisy: service buses and loading trucks in the early morning; residential garbage trucks & commotion in the hallway are some common offenders. Pet-friendly, so there was the occasional barking dog. The walls aren't terribly thin, but we could hear muffled conversations next door with the TV off. Felt safe as a minority here. RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $115.57/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: Food & Drink A relaxing and nearly ideal staycation property. The full end-to-end experience (accommodations, wireless infra, etc) wasn't as strong, these kinks easily break the immersion, especially when so far out in the country side. But, at this price point, it's worth an extended stay. Plan accordingly and enjoy a plethora of amenities without having to leave your bubble. I look forward to returning. Highly recommended. 4/5⭐

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Free early checkin & uncovered parking available on site. Hospitality was incredible: great enthusiasm, timeliness, conversation skill, & wonderful etiquette. +1 for having fully functional Tap payment. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great Fast, clean, & spacious elevators. I really like the structure of this building & its decor. Whoever curates the stock/art here has quite the eye! ROOM [Deluxe Room]-- 👍 good ruclips.net/user/shortsqECr9c4imu0 Exceptionally clean-- you can smell the freshness-- & the high ceilings were staggering! It was sufficiently spacious for us (2) but lacks storage options for an extended vacay. Hardwood floors were a bit warped, but otherwise well-maintained. Additional housekeeping is by request only.⚠️ BED -- 👍 good We slept in a double queen. No complaints on firmness or support (we're side-sleepers). Pillow build was fine & the sheets were ok, just not noteworthy. BATH (accessible) -- 👍 great Medium size bathroom with a trendy design. It was clean & well-appointed for Accessibility. The bath robes were nice as well: breathable, soft, & in great condition. The one thing that needs improvement, is storage/hanging fixtures for towels. There's hardly enough to encourage reuse for a party of two. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great 55" Samsung flat screen TV on stationary mount. It's difficult to connect a Google TV here but it's doable. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 poor Good Verizon reception in the area. Complimentary unencrypted WiFi was very underwhelming (bring a hotspot). --Performance-- Video streaming - bad Online gaming - bad Video chatting - bad --Nerd Stats-- 8-10 Mbps download 7-10 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 66 ms latency 83 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 ok DoorDash friendly with a restaurant on site offering in-room dining. We tried the Pork Shank w/Grilled asparagus & garlic roasted broccolini for dinner & had a Downtown Cosmo + Seven Daughters Moscato to drink. Drinks were phenomenal but the dinner has much room for improvement. The pork shank was enormous; it's definitely a meal for two & could benefit from a footnote or the # of ounces being listed. Protein that size also needs a bigger plate; presentation & dining experience suffer without it. To make it more picturesque & appetizing (which is the entire allure of in-room dining vs room service) they should've placed the shank in the center of the polenta, standing up. Then put the tomatoes and bacon jam around it. The Polenta was buttery and creamy but didn't quite have that "smooth grits" texture. They nailed the savory, but overdid it on the salt. I couldn't fully enjoy this dish due to my high blood pressure. Mini fridge & espresso maker are conveniently located in the rooms. Water & ice are also located on the guest floors. NOISE -- 👍 ok Nicely soundproof from outside noise but the AC can be loud. The mini fridge also has a loud condenser. Since the temperature dial was removed/missing, the only option was to unplug it for some peace & quiet. LOCATION -- 👍 great As a minority I felt safe here. Great walkability, security & safe enough for jogging. RECOMMENDATION Final price: $174.39/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: Hospitality The WiFi was rough & dinning service could be improved, but it was still a net positive. The location, amenities, & customer service make this a really solid accommodation. I could see myself returning & think you'll enjoy it if you've read this far. 4/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Free early checkin & uncovered parking is available. The checkin wasn't fast but the representative I worked with was a master of hospitality; warm, polite, & professional. I was also impressed with Maintenance: the speed at which they serviced our broken mini fridge was surreal. Job well done on management, customer service, & hospitality! Free 1hr late checkout by request. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great A wonderfully large lobby that's a pleasure to get lost in. It's exceptionally clean, ornate, & full of dazzling design details. Elevators are just as artsy with a gold shimmer & stone flooring-- fast too! ROOM [Suite Studio, Suite 1BR]-- 👍 great Recently renovated with a relaxed vibe & contemporary design. We tried the 1BR suite & studio suite. The 1BR suite has a more functional & intuitive layout, so I recommend booking that configuration if possible. The Mountain View premium is also worth it-- the higher the floor, the better! The use of floating shelves is clever & elevates (no pun intended) the room. The mobile workspace was another standout, allowing me to code against the amazing mountain backdrop. Cons: too few waste receptacles for the room dimensions; adjustable work desk wasn't sturdy; windows could be cleaner to maximize the Mountain View BED [Queen, King] -- 👍 great The double Queen configuration had perfect firmness with nicely dense pillows. The sheets weren't noteworthy (semi-soft, average quality) but they were clean & fresh. Our king mattress was also satisfactory in the 1BR. Reading lights in the headboard were a convenient surprise. BATH -- 👍 good Interesting layouts here but the flow leaves much to be desired. Transitioning from wash room activities in the studio suite is clunky. It's better in the bedroom suite, but neither are optimal. The light switch locations are also forgettable. Still, it's a very functional & spacious bathroom with high cleaning standards. Aveda bath products are pre-stocked in the showers, with plenty of toiletries for self-care. The bathrobe from T-y group presidential collection, is my favorite for 2023! Words can't describe how soft, luxe, & enjoyable these are. The slippers were also very comfortable for being OSFA. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good Team Samsung. 42" HD LCD TVs on swivel base with status quo Marriott set top box & universal remote. A Bluetooth speaker was also available in the room. Orientation & location of the TV in studio suites is a pain point. They'd benefit from a premium mount here since the base is glued down, limiting its rotation. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good The complimentary WiFi offering was mediocre. We ended up using hotspots a lot here; Verizon service was strong & consistent. --Performance-- Video streaming - bad Online gaming - bad Video chatting - bad --Nerd Stats-- 10-13 Mbps download 15-18 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 50 ms latency 77 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great DoorDash friendly, with a bar & restaurant onsite. NOISE -- 👍 ok Relatively quiet & peaceful but noise leaks in from the hallway terribly. This can be stressful in the studio suite where the double bed is a step from the door. AC is also loud. LOCATION -- 👍 great Proximity to restaurants, stores, and museums couldn't be more convenient and in abundant! Amazing culture, people, and walkability. Safe enough to jog a few miles and explore. RECOMMENDATION Final price: $178.42/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: view A really awesome experience. I extended my stay multiple times & still couldn't get enough. SERVICE -- 👍 great Very professional & helpful staff. They seemed intimately familiar with the property & everyone I interacted with was personable. The checkin area is a bit tight & the placement has a slightly awkward flow, but it's quite fast & early checkin was available. Parking is available on site as well. ROOM (Superior King Room) -- 👍 great Great aroma & ambience when you enter the building, leading all the way into the room. The interior design & attention to detail was exceptional. Lots of creative textures everywhere: grooved wallpaper, hardwood panels & flooring, ergonomic lounge chair; leather-strapped armoire -- the list goes on! Dimensions were spacious (comfortably for 2), but not much storage space for personal effects except the wardrobe. Remote-controlled shades & blackout curtains over the sliding balcony door were convenient & fun to use. The arrangement was especially conducive for remote work, thanks to the huge desk, although this chair pairing wasn't the most comfortable. +1 for the larger recycling receptacles ♻️. BED -- 👍 great I’ve always had great experiences with Beautyrest mattresses, and this one was no different. The monogrammed sheets were exceptionally comfortable, complemented by the swath of King-size down pillows. And as far as duvets go: this was one of the best I've encountered all year (2023). Beside utility was equally perfect: reading lights were conveniently built into the headboard & the bedside tables offer plenty of USB and 3-pronged outlets w/o compromising on tabletop space. BATH -- 👍 good Glass walk-in shower with French Momo bath products (these are surprisingly mostly sulfates so bring your own). Water pressure was great when showering but weak when using a sink. The sink was also slow to heat & the design isn't as functional or intuitive as it should be. It's a great aesthetic though. Towels are on the larger side & they provide an ultra soft, form fitting, bathrobe -- with hood! TV -- 👍 great 65" Samsung HD flat screen with basic wall-mount. Good quality picture & no hassles. WI-FI -- 👍 great 2-4x faster than majority of the free tiers @ casual hotels, so no complaints! 43-56 Mbps download 49-50 Mbps upload FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good DoorDash friendly. Room service, through the oak+violet restaurant, was very allergen conscious. There were a multitude of gluten free & vegetarian options to choose from. The onsite bar had an extensive wine list & the atmosphere was prime for a few glasses. In-room was a clever coffee bar setup that discretely slide in and out from under the desk; very smooth & convenient. NOISE -- 👎 poor Peaceful & quiet inside. Externally? The car wash across the street was a nightmare: lots of loud mariachi & power cleaning equipment. Keep the balcony door closed if looking for R&R. RATING Final Price: $193/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: bed Great service, food, & well-appointed rooms. Nearly perfect except for receiving a room facing the obnoxiously loud car wash. Worthy of an extended stay or your next workcation. I look forward to returning. Highly recommended. 4.5/5⭐️

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great Employees at every level were awesome: warm personalities & eager to accommodate ❤️. Not just pleasant to interact with, but efficient too. On top of that, it's a pet friendly property & they don't slouch on the turnovers. Hospitality still pales in comparison to the visuals: gold paints, gold accents, & gold windows🤩. A brilliantly executed design that felt decadently luxurious, yet tasteful. One of the brightest, cleanest, & glossiest interiors you'll find in Vegas. FYI: The public spaces are chaos during checkout hour.⚠️ MVP employees: all 🤔 ROOM [1BR Suite] -- 👍 great A well-appointed room if there ever was one. Turnover was immaculate, not just "clean", & smelled heavenly. Impressive for a suite with dimensions big enough to lease. Tabletop space felt endless & the furnishings were the epitome of comfort; our couch was more comfortable than wherever you're reading this review from (no offense). Weaker areas: Lightning isn't comparable to the public spaces, but floor-to-ceiling windows & a captivating view solved that problem. Ergonomics are lacking for remote work & outlet distribution is poor. Bring an extension cord if you're a techie or plan to game+stream. ⚠️ BED [King] -- 👍 great Exquisite 😭. A lush & cozy duvet, clean high quality Egyptian cotton bedding, plump king-size pillows, & a custom Serta mattress. Easily one of my top 3 sleeping arrangements in Vegas so far (Palms & Mandalay Bay). BATH -- 👎 ok "Spacious" would be an understatement; the space was massive & covered in dazzling marble. The convenience of 2 FULL bathrooms was * chefs kiss * & the toiletries line (diamond natura bisse) was remarkable. The not-so-good: Plumbing was not on-par with the rest of the installation -- water pressure was meager & temperature were unpredictable. The hand shower in our guest bath was in need of repair, spraying water everywhere. Lastly, but most importantly, the tub jets no longer work. This was a letdown as they're still mentioned in the marketing (all hype 😞). ACTIVITIES/TV SOLUTION -- 👍 good ~40" LCD HD TV's mounted in the entertainment center. The channel selection was extensive & the OS+remote were hassle free. Unfortunately, for the size of these units (900+ sqft), the display size is unbalanced. Other leisurely indulgences include: Spa services: (huge menu; limited hours) & a gigantic outdoor heated pool open 7am-7pm. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good 3 unencrypted WiFi tiers: Free - ~5Mb Enhanced - 10Mb @ 9.99 😕 Premium - 15Mb @ $14.99 😑 We stuck to the free option, considering how egregiously overpriced the others were... Connecting initially was cumbersome. Afterwards it's smooth sailing. It benchmarks well & the QoS is properly tuned, throughput is just low obvs. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 3-5 Mbps download 4-23 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 22 ms latency 12 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 ok Not DoorDash friendly (delivery apps are generally a hassle in Vegas anyway). Room service was surprisingly modern & allergen aware for a legacy hotel. So we tried the Chickens Wings (BBQ) & All-American breakfast. Room service was often quicker than bell service, that was impressive. The wings were delicious, despite the depressing presentation & portions. Eggs were also tasty. Leagues better than the breakfast steak (not worth the $17 upcharge) & burnt toast that came with it. The kitchen provided access to a lot of convenient appliances. It did not however, feature a complete or robust set of utensils for cooking. Same for the cookware. Plan accordingly if you're hoping to cook 🧑‍🍳. in-room: ✅microwave (full size) ✅mini-fridge (full size) ✅coffee/tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE -- 👍 great The way this building is architected + training of the staff is the ultimate combo. We were happily lost in our own little bubble the entire time 😌. LOCATION -- 👍 great I felt safe as a minority in the property & surrounding area. Security protocols were well-conducted & consistent. Best of all: Fashion Show Mall Is right across the street (200+ stores🤯). Valet parking available. RECOMMENDATION & RATING Final Price: $94.11/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: hospitality The decor, management, & accommodations exceeded our expectations in many ways. Food service quality wasn't as noteworthy, but it didn't feel stuck in the past either (a la Mandalay Bay). An area this accommodation did not deliver in was the bath experience; our biggest motivator in booking. I could see myself staying here again though & would recommend it. 4/5 ⭐️

CHECKIN & SERVICE -- 👍 great Great mobile checkin experience with support for electronic payment methods + we got to checkin early. Staff were very professional, personable, & kind throughout our stay. Room [Deluxe Poolside King W/Café Kitchen] -- 👍 ok Hearing music from a record player as we entered the room + the welcome gift on our pillow made a great first impression. The arrangement of the room felt very stylish & intentional; the stone floor + entryway curtains create such a nice aesthetic. Lots of natural light from the front & backsides so the sparseness of lamps works. Cleaning standards were top notch too. Despite the great ambience, the room has certainly seen better days & could use a new coat of paint (cracks & chipping). The remote controlled AC unit performed poorly so it was uncomfortable staying in the room for long periods of time, and that was with the overhead fan running constantly (beautiful wood design FWIW). Not particularly spacious for two homebodies & very little storage space. Too few outlets if you're here on workcation. BED -- 👍 ok Clean, soft, cozy bedding & perfect firmness as far as the mattress goes. Pillows were undersized and on the lighter side. The base wasn't particularly sturdy & the headboard was unexpectedly itchy + rough, but tolerable. BATH -- 👎 poor A bit of room for improvement...: Rusty, low cleaning standards, & the tub was heavily chipped/damaged. Despite the underwhelming fixtures & cramped space, the toiletries were great-- my favorite travel brand: Lather, all natural-- the water pressure was strong, & the towels were clean, soft, & hefty. I also enjoyed the texture of the bathrobe & sandals. WI-FI -- 👍 good Encrypted Wi-Fi was a pleasant surprise with great speeds for streaming. Just not great for large video conferencing streams. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - average Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 196-228 Mbps Download 19-23 Mbps Upload 0% Packet loss 22ms latency 3ms jitter FOOD -- 👍 good DoorDash/UberEats friendly. Our unit included a kitchenette equipped with an oven, stove, full size microwave, large mini fridge & espresso maker. There is a $25 fee for "excessive dirtiness"; this is the first time I've seen such a policy in Palm Springs or Desert Springs & it felt disingenuous, but I'm sure there was a reason for it (?). Free breakfast (primarily fruit & breads) was served in the mornings. NOISE -- 👍 ok The (unaware) guests can really break the immersion despite the "whisper volume" policy, which isn't consistently enforced; phone calls on speaker phone, video calls without headphones, loud conversations in the jacuzzi. This made it hard to enjoy the amenities during the night hours, but the noise level was much better & steady during the day. Random & infrequent pet noises from the neighborhood can also be disruptive, but it's otherwise a quiet & peaceful space majority of the time. AMENITIES -- 👍 ok The sauna, heated pools, & massage services are the highlight of this property & we found them mostly satisfactory. The mineral water pools were clean, Accessible, and less than 10 steps from the room. The sauna is also open 24/7! My partner LOVED her CBD massage, the masseur was very observant, professional, and attentive-- "money well spent". I had the opposite experience unfortunately...: the pressure wasn't where it needed to be for a Deep Tissue massage & my masseur was texting/responding to (very audible) notifications throughout the session. This was also my first time encountering a massage professional with such coarse & rough personal skin care (hands). Lots of room for improvement & not a service worth $225 + tip. VERDICT Final Price: $535.36/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: mineral pool The company of guests during your stay really make or break the experience. The rooms could also use a bit of an update/reno, but it was a mostly pleasant experience overall. I'd recommend checking in sometime off-peak for maximum enjoyment. 3/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great We had an issue with our booking via Expedia (wrong pics & sqft) but Adrianna went above & beyond to salvage our birthday staycation; she's, hands-down, the best Marriott representative I've interacted with all year. The bellman works incredibly hard here (remember to tip!) & other staff were notably courteous, attentive, very well-dressed (Morgan's glasses 🔥). Elevators are quite tiny but there are only 9 floors so its tolerable. Conversely, this is a building where taking the stairs is an enjoyable scenic route-- there's stained glass at the very top! ROOM (Executive Suite) -- 👍 great I'm usually stunned by the lobby and underwhelmed by the room... but not here. The decor is surreal, radiant, & opulent from entrance to bedroom. The guestrooms have a very modern, but classy/classic, aesthetic & are well-maintained with visibly high cleaning standards. It goes without saying that the stock is comfortable, high-quality, & meticulously-chosen. The rooms also have lots of seating options, an ergonomic workspace, & plush carpeting. The traditional guest rooms are a bit cramped for 2, so aim for a junior suite if traveling with companions. The city view rooms are perfect for people watching. cons: AC is loud (but not 'noisy') & the coffee tables are extremely low (watch your shins)⚠️. BED -- 👍 great No need to get into thread count, cotton blends, or pillow sizes-- there's a cloud where the bed should be...'nuff said 😌. Perfectly firm, soft, supportive, & clean, with luxury linens & a cozy microfiber duvet. BATH -- 👍 great Immaculate cleaning standards in the bath; an American style bathroom equipped with a walk-in rainfall ceiling shower, beautifully maintained ceramic tiling, & a double vanity. And the TOTO toilet is proof they mean business. Towels are large and in great condition. The bathrobe is weighty but I found the texture more than satisfactory (TY Presidential collection is still my preferred robe). Showers prestocked with Essential Elements BATH (Gilchrist & Soames). cons: no bathtub; no slippers provided; 2 shower heads instead of adding a hand-shower TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 poor 2 (dated) ~40" Standard Definition LG TVs, 1 on a swivel bases & the other wall-mounted in the common area, controlled by the infamous MarriottBonvoy remote and Set Top Box (STB); This configuration surprised me because it clashes with the lux nature of everything else 💔: budget brand, dated model, user-UNfriendly remote, immobile mount, slow TV OS. GREAT for their experience management & IT, but mediocre for guest satisfaction. Wi-FI -- 👎 poor Complimentary (unencrypted) wi-fi behind the familiar Marriott portal (remember to opt-out of tracking!). Signal strength, coverage, & QoS were great, but throughput is abysmal. Not ideal for a workcation: --Performance-- Video streaming - poor Online gaming - poor Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 2-5 Mbps download 4-6 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 19 ms latency 55 ms latency FOOD & DRINK -- 👍👎 We didn't sample the in-room dining menu this time (DoorDash friendly locale btw) but thanks to Adriana, I was able to celebrate my favorite person's birthday with a bottle of champagne and truffles -- on the house! 🥹 (Rooms equipped with small mini-fridge, dry-bar, & Lavazza mini espresso maker) NOISE -- 👍 great Soundproof++. Not a peep from the city streets, housekeeping, or adjacent neighbors. Very peaceful. VERDICT Final Price: $387.99/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: hospitality❤️
It's obvious why this property has been around so long: they deliver a sophisticated, luxurious, and rich decor you can't help but get lost in. Wifi & TV infrastructure isn't their strong suit but those things can be improved & didn't impede on my stay that much. I would absolutely stay here again & highly recommend staying here for multiple nights. 5/5 ⭐️

    # 160. SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Favorable checkin experience by professional and efficient staff. This hotel has a lot of features which they cover in impressive detail. Free early checkin with a generous 12pm checkout. ROOM [Junior Suite] -- 👍 ok An odd selection of furnishings with a lot going on, like a yard sale. It's not as strong on design as the building's common areas. Lighting was also dim but the floor-to-ceiling windows pick up the slack. The storage space is another redeeming quality if you're here for an extended stay. But functionally it just wasn't my favorite...: Wobbly tables, noisy chairs with oversized bases, a thin work space area, & a partially functional curtain setup. A real hodgepodge of a design. BED [King]-- 👍 great Solid "A" Their Posturepedic mattress provided excellent back support. Sheets were incredibly smooth with a comfortable & breathable 60/40 blend. Topped off with a cozy duvet. Pillows were ok. Although they were soft & fluffy, they were short on loft. The size didn't match the mattress and the fill (duck down) was insufficient. Overall really strong; just needs better/more pillows. BATH -- 👎 ok Small bathroom space with sliding door setup. For the shower experience: it's the dreaded half-pane zero-entry walk-in, although It's not as bad as Hotel Vance *shudders* . We enjoyed the water pressure & Papaya bath products they provided. I'm especially grateful for the functional windows because ventilation was poor. Towels are on the smaller side but they provide a great bathrobe; a soft cotton-polyester blend with awesome textures. Standard toiletries & appliances. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good ~40" Samsung Full HD TV w/basic programming + streaming integrations & select apps. The mirroring apps didn't work (like most places). Limited AV options with the style of mount installed. Not chrome cast/google TV friendly. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 great Various dead zones in the room, luckily their WiFi offering is top tier albeit unencrypted. Prepare a throwaway email address for the portal registration. --Performance-- Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - GREAT --Nerd Stats-- 180-240 Mbps download 87-102 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 8 ms latency 1 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 ok Contactless DoorDash delivery isn't supported. Onsite restaurant serves breakfast/lunch (7am-2pm) & room service 11am-11pm QR code link didn't work so we passed on trying to figure out the menu 💸 FWIW the mini bar experience was amazing. A variety of snacks + a premium selection of spirits, ales, & wine! In-room water was horrendously overpriced but free water can be found in the fitness center. Ice bins on-floor provide conveniently pre-packaged bags. NOISE -- 👎 bad Big "no" on sound proofing & the light rail is soo~ noisy. It runs consistently throughout the day (kudos to the city). Try to reserve a room as far as possible from this side of the street. LOCATION -- 👍 great Grocers, restaurants, & public transit conveniently accessible. Felt safe enough during the daytime. VERDICT -- 👍👎 Price: $131.99/night Was it worth it: no Best part: minibar The value is good & it's a great spot for people watching but too noisy for comfort. One of the weaker BW's despite the premier label. I wouldn't stay here again nor go out of my way to recommend it. 3.5/5 ⭐️

CHECKIN & SERVICE -- 👍 good We did obtain early checkin but it took a very long time to get keys. I really like the staff here: friendly, funny & beautiful people. Although visibly light-staffed, our calls were always answered timely. ROOM -- 👍 great An aroma of natural leather and wood fills your nose when walking into the spacious Plains themed room. Soft courtroom brown leather chairs, stone surfaces, & sleek stock create a really nice vibe. Smaller details, like the brass etched knobs & wood carved handles, add incredible depth to the theme. The wall art really pops & the wall-to-wall windows provide crisp & clear views (bummer they don't open). Extra amenities like umbrella, iron, & ironing board are stored in the wood armoire/wardrobe. This turnover was 10/10 & exceptionally clean! BED -- 👍 great Amazing accents, especially the cow-hide themed throw pillow (things I didn't know I needed...)! The mattress provided very restful sleep, fitted with fresh premium linens & a fluffy duvet. The pillow selection was equally excellent: soft, weighty, & cool. Night stands are fitted with lots of charging ports for your devices. BATH -- 👍 great Great design & function: Large rope-suspended mirror between warm cylinder vanity lights; smooth stone tile; ample towel racks + hooks to encourage rise ♻️; motion activated lights; absorbent shag bath rug. Spacious walk-in shower with glossy tile bench and a mounted shower caddy. Impressive backsplash contrast. The shower head had a single function & the water pressure was mediocre. This was disappointing because it doesn't clear the bench, nor is there a hand shower. Not very Accessible for the vertically challenged (<5' 4"). No manual exhaust fan. But the ventilation is good enough. The stock Lockwood products were great-- as someone with eczema this says a lot! The Blackfin towels and robe resonate well with the "out west" cabin bath theme, but the selection could be optimized more for comfort + general softness. Thinner brand bathroom scale included. TV -- 👍 good 55" flatscreen Samsung had amazing quality but was installed on an underwhelming mount; no swivel, tilt, and/or extension & HDMI ports were inaccessible. App functionality is disabled, so ScreenShare & Casting was also a no-go. DirectTV is included so you're not stuck with basic programming. Wi-Fi -- 👍 good Connectivity was a mixed bag. Initial connection issues (never succeeded on first attempt) and client churn is aggressive, so prepare to reconnect every few hours. Performance was good when connected & sufficient for remote work. --Nerd Stats-- 16-20 Mbps download 19-20 Mbps upload 4 ms latency FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good DoorDash friendly* (requires leaving a note on the reservation to permit delivery persons going up). LOTS of delicious food within delivery radius. The restaurant menu was not allergen friendly or accommodating, but it is an appetizing read. Rooms equipped with smart mini fridge & coffee bar. NOISE -- 👍 great Very quiet and peaceful; the interior and exterior sound proofing is an absolute win here. RATING Price: $160.00/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: accommodations The theme was very well executed. As often as we found things to break the immersion, there is enough attention to detail here that we dropped back in immediately every time. A free 2-hour late check-out was the icing on the cake. A GREAT choice for your next staycation, extended stay, or working-weekend. Despite any shortcoming, this location is the perfect place to enjoy the sweetness of doing nothing. I hope to stay here again and try other configurations + themes. Highly recommend. 4.5/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👎 ok $20 early check in fee; bold considering the competition in the area & slow workflow. No tap payment support either. The staff are cordial at least, almost to a fault. Housekeeping was frustrating: Long waits for towels & they ignore the DnD sign⚠️. No late checkout (YMMV) TRANSITIONS -- 👍 good Beautifully festive & clean during our "Halloween Hotel tour". A tremendous amount of social space in this one & the halls are huge. Elevators are just painfully slow, but spacious. ROOM (suite) -- 👍 good Modern & spacious suite that provided good lighting, storage, functional windows. Seating options were plentiful & comfortable. The dedicated workspace was also noteworthy but this isn't a great place for remote work. Terminal AC wasn't performant; takes a long~~ time to circulate air in this configuration. BED -- 👍 good We slept comfortably on this BeautyRest King. The duvet was very thin considering the microclimate & underperforming AC. Everything else was great: clean, soft, & breathable cotton sheets; pillows with great loft, support, & a good fill. BATH -- 👍 great Half bath setup with good cleaning standards. The design felt awkward initially, due to the vanity being right next to the entrance. The positioning for the other half actually works out so you're able to watch TV from the shower-- very nice! The shower was streamlined, featuring the sliding glass walkin design. This one turned out to be more enjoyable than expected! Water pressure was good throughout & House-brand bath products were stocked inside. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good 2 throwback ~40" RCA TVs on swivel stands with basic programming. You don't see these often outside of Oregon, but the quality is good. They do need to be repositioned since it's difficult to control one TV without the signal being received by both. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 bad Oof; Non-performant would be an understatement. Record low cell reception & dismal WiFi. Low throughput, high lag, frequent timeouts, & lots of disconnects... --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 1-16 Mbps download 3-22 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 45 ms latency 85 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good Contactless DoorDash supported! Full Breakfast available between 7-11. Warning: They're heavy on the salt... but the foods are cooked well & coffee is decent. They also sponsor a Happy hour. Magic chef microwave, large mini fridge, coffee & water for in-room amenities. Ice machines on floor. NOISE -- 👎 poor Peaceful environment outside, but loud hallway groups & thin walls were frustrating to endure. LOCATION -- 👍 great A cluster of shopping centers, retail stores, & other hotels in the area. There's also a dispensary within walking distance! Most importantly: I felt safe here as a minority. VERDICT Final Price: $157.76/night Was it worth it: no Best part: accommodations Highs & lows were abundant with this one. In the end, It did not win me over due to noise, fees & inadequate internet access, but it's far from terrible or warranting hyperbole. I'd explore other properties in the area before settling on this one, especially if Internet or remote work matter to you. There's good competition in the vicinity. 3.5/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Checkin here is inherently lengthy due to the feature overview & different guest systems. Normally I abhor slow checkins, but I'd sit through this one twice bc the stay is worth the wait! Consistent, professional, & personable service at every level, including phone service. Emily was incredibly fluid & thorough in covering the amenities. Special s/o to the Doorman as well (the real MVP)! Free early checkin. Free 1 hour late checkout. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great The building is very unassuming but the design & aesthetic inside was nicely curated. The lobby was pristine, lux, & appropriately decorated for Halloween. Very fun & lively at various hours. Elevators were spacious, just a tad slow. ROOM (suite) -- 👍 great Large, clean, modern suite with... everything. They hit all the functional marks Good Lighting: ✅ Functional windows: ✅ Comfortable Seating: ✅ Tabletop space: ✅ Closet + drawer storage: ✅ Performant AC + fan: ✅ The tile could be cleaned better or more frequently. BED -- 👍 great No complaints--we slept like royalty! The duvet was excellent: cozy, fluffy, warm & fresh. A+ mattress: good support & firmness A+ linens: soft & clean A+ pillows: right-sized, nice density BATH -- 👍 good A medium-large restroom space featuring a modern design & traditional fixtures. The combinations shower-tub delivered great water pressure. I really enjoyed the hand showers in their accessible rooms too. Towels were fresh & clean. The bath robes (available by request) were underwhelming; interesting pattern & light, but the texture didn't add value. Various toiletries were provided & there are plenty more available by request downstairs. Grout lines have seen better days & are in need of a touch up. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great Unmounted ~40" FHD Samsung flat screens primed for streaming. These models are older, but picture quality isn't an issue & have full compatibility with Google TV. Ports were easily accessible & the universal remote interoperability was solid. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 ok An unencrypted network serving a clunky, over-engineered, registration portal. Every beautiful thing has 1 flaw & this would be it. QoS is well-tuned tho & throughput was adequate for remote work + multi tasking Good proximity to towers for consistent 5G-5Guw speeds (Verizon). --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 12-20 Mbps download 15-19 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 15 ms latency 10 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good Sadly, contactless (DoordDash) delivery is a no-go. But, unlike most hotels, the staff were incredibly helpful w/locating deliveries. There's a restaurant on-site but no room-service so we didn't explore this 💸. Not a big deal bc the kitchenette was fitted with a full size fridge, microwave, stove, cookware, & clean dishes. Great inventory for an extended stay. The pantry downstairs has additional appliances if needed (air fryer, etc). NOISE -- 👍 great Peaceful atmosphere & quiet patrons. The unhomed are still as rambunctious as ever, but weren't a significant source of noise pollution & only an issue if facing the street. LOCATION -- 👍 great The concierge did an AMAZING job at giving us a lay of the land. We're very familiar with the surrounding area, yet my tiny spiel here wouldn't do it justice; so talk to Ace--you're in good hands! They provide plenty of navigational resources with very solid recommendations. VERDICT Final Price: $134.65/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: accommodations Competitively priced: ✅ Exceptional service & hospitality: ✅✅ Comfort, high quality, convenient: ✅✅✅ ...I regret not staying longer. But they went above & beyond to earn my business & you won't be disappointed. An overwhelmingly high recommendation. 5/5 ⭐️

CHECKIN -- 👍 great Great checkin experience: fast, friendly, & informative. The customer service was top notch. ROOM [2 Queen Beds] -- 👎 poor The room was clean, but had a heavy mildew odor. Opening the balcony door helped to circulate enough air to deal with the smell. The electrical is in need of maintenance due to how the lights flicker + long delay when turning on (it doesn't feel like a safe or quality experience as a guest, especially for a $200/night stay). Lighting was also awkward & insufficient: there's an overhead light above a microwave & refrigerator (appliances which have their own lightbulbs & LEDs) and the remaining 300+ sqft is vast darkness. If your balcony view is unobstructed, then this shouldn't be a problem & you'll enjoy a flood of natural light. BED -- 👍 great Queen beds have a great firmness level with decent support. The bedding is also soft & the pillows are dense. The quality of sleep was amazing. BATH -- 👎 bad The bathroom is beautiful at first glance but the plumbing infrastructure isn't well maintained so the sink sprayed & leaked from underneath whenever we used it. WI-FI -- 👍 great Unencrypted but very performant. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 93-94 Mbps download 74-90 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 8 ms latency 4 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK --👍 great DoorDash/UberEats friendly. The breakfast is actually delicious (bacon, potatoes, & real eggs), so give that a try. NOISE -- 👍 ok it's by the freeway, so set expectations accordingly... No complaints with guests or housekeeping. Generally peaceful & quiet. VERDICT Final Price: $337.00/night Was it worth it: no Best part: views This place has a lot going for it: strong customer service, great location, & above average food. The maintenance/upkeep is where they drop the ball & need better management. We cut our stay short because it wasn't ideal to air out another room or throw a bunch of towels at leaky pipes. YMMV but in the current state I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you get a really REALLY good 3rd party deal. 2.5/5 ⭐️

SERVICE -- 👎 poor The location/address & marketing presence is a bit in disarray, following the Hilton merger... It's hard to find information like phone numbers or menus online. Legacy Links (for example: themodernhonolulu.com/waikiki-restaurants) weren't migrated and don't redirect to useful/updated information. Delivery & rideshare apps also have a hard time with the location, with only a reference to the spa (which has been closed for 2 years) as a pick up point. Very confusing for first time travelers. Check-in took a bit long but the staff is friendly & personable. It was also nice to see Tap payment support. Calls to restaurant and/or reception often went unanswered, on multiple attempts. Spacious elevators, albeit slower than normal & make horrendous sounds when closing😱. Late checkout (1hr) offered. $35 resort fees. ROOM -- 👍 great A large room with a beautiful & simple aesthetic. While it is comfortably spacious for 2, there's very little storage space for personal items. High cleaning standards were comforting & our balcony view was sublime 😍. The 2 outdoor chairs weren't very comfortable nor well-maintained though (rust). BED -- 👍 good King bed sleeps very well. The pillows weren't king size nor optimized for comfort though. Sheets were coarse & we didn't care for them, but the down blanket was unexpectedly soft, cozy, & eco friendly! (Recycled microfiber polyester) ♻️. ⚠️The base is sturdy but protrudes quite a bit, so mind your shins.⚠️ BATH -- 👍 ok Good line of bath products provided (Crabtree Evelyn). The sink design is beautiful -- very wide and has great usability. Amazing water pressure throughout to fully take advantage of the 5-spray pattern shower head. Glass shower door is a bit misaligned and required some effort to fully close. Towels are on the larger side. TV -- 👍 good Basic programming watchable on a Samsung flatscreen HD display w/swivel base. No casting/screen share functionality enabled, but the ports were easily accessible if you happen to bring cables/streaming sticks. ⚠️HDMI input wasn't compatible with latest MacBook, so YMMV. The remote is very hygienic, but the functionality is poor & unintuitive. WI-FI -- 👍 ok Basic complementary behind a web portal & a premium paid offering is available. Free Wi-Fi was good for light surfing & generic multitasking; not so much for over employed video conferencing and engineering workloads. 19-22 Mbps download 14-19 Mbps upload Good QoS for mobile devices. FOOD -- 👎 poor DoorDash/UberEats friendly. Restaurant room service was available but we weren't able to reach the restaurant over the phone after many attempts & gave up. Mini coffee bar, microwave, & small (15-30") mini fridge in room. Ice machine on floor. NOISE -- 👎 poor Very noisy being in the middle of the city. No noise issues from neighboring walls, but the ceiling is another story, YMMV. VERDICT Final Price: $244.97/night Was it worth it: no Best part: views Just "ok". Maybe post-merger it will become more noteworthy. I could see myself reviewing it again, but lukewarm recommendation today. 3/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 good Checkin was fast & tap payment is accepted here🙌. Early checkin is available for a $40 fee (quite egregious since this is 20-30% of room rates). The front desk hospitality was true-to-form as described in other reviews; employees that can't be bothered, couldn't care less, & probably don't want to be here. It was inconvenient to request towels after hours due to lack of bell service, so plan accordingly. The GM, Elliot, reached out to us directly & expressed how committed he was to making sure we had a pleasant stay. This was a very nice touch & he seems earnest about improving the customer experience. Late checkout (1.5 hr) available for free. ROOM (guest room) -- 👍 ok Rooms facing the backside don't receive much natural light so the dull lighting is one of the first things you notice walking in. The carpet choice makes these low-light rooms feel particularly dreary. Our room was also incomplete (coffee ingredients but no coffee maker; no luggage rack). Nevertheless, it wasn't a total loss: the workspace was very productive & the chair had great ergonomics; lots of drawers & hangers for personal items; functional windows; beautifully chosen floor lamps. Cleaning standards were also high, minus debris behind the entertainment center. BED (Queen) -- 👍 good We slept in a 2 queen configuration which was very restful. The mattress had the exact level of firmness I needed. Bedding was clean, soft, & felt very luxe. I especially like the duvet: a 250tc polyester microfiber shell & similar fill ☺️. The pillow setup was quirky...: double-folding King pillowcases over Standard pillows. BATH (accessible) -- 👎 poor The accessibility of the tub is some of the best I've seen in ~80 hotel stays. Cleaning standards were visually "ok", but there was an odor & the vanity mirror was dirty and/or in need of treatment. The shower has good water pressure & is pre-stocked with bath products in fun containers, but they're generic & non-descriptive... There's a lack of information online & on-site about what's inside, so I don't recommend using these (very strange company brand decision). Despite the pressure being consistent, the temperature fluctuated a lot while showing. Ventilation was inadequate, even with the door ajar. The tissue box cover isn't a great fit for these smaller sinks: Water seeps underneath, gets absorbed into the cardboard, & wet tissues go unnoticed in a lower occupancy room. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great 40" HD LG LCD TV on swivel base. They offer basic programming, powered by the usual set top box & universal remote. Google TV friendly. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Verizon coverage is not ideal in this area/property: 1-2 bars max signal strength. LTE, 5G, & 5Guw speeds intermittently available. Complimentary WiFi is unencrypted but BLAZING fast & more than adequate for work. --Performance-- Video streaming - great Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 120-130 Mbps download 120-145 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 9 ms latency 1 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great DoorDash shows that contactless delivery is supported at this location. There's a market in the lobby that offers the typical instant food & beverages. Dinner & breakfast services are also available for a fee (~$20). Rooms are equipped with a tiny mini fridge & a mini coffee bar usually. NOISE -- 👍 great Explicit quiet hours 10pm-6am; no issues with guests around us in the respect. Lots of heathy trees in the vicinity so birds can be LOUD in the morning 🐧 . LOCATION -- 👍 great The location is convenient (transit, shops, etc) & felt safe. VERDICT Final Price: $170.21/night Was it worth it: yes. Best part: WiFi I was apprehensive on this location based on reviews, but the GM is genuinely trying to improve quality & is receptive to feedback. The accommodations aren't the most noteworthy, but the price is competitive for such a convenient location. If the price is right & hospitality continues to improve, I could see myself staying here again. 3/5 ⭐️

SERVICE -- 👍 great Early checkin was free & the process was fast. No electronic/tap pay yet based on how they processed my card ☹️. The booking.com pictures misrepresented our room but the manager was very empathetic & quickly resolved the issue. Very timely on answering phone calls. Expert-tier custom service through & through 👌. Uncovered self-service parking was conveniently located & free. Late checkout offered (1hr). ROOM (Suite) -- 👍 great A homey & well-appointed room with good cleaning standards. There's was ample storage space for our personal items & dimensions were comfortably spacious for 2. highlights: Carpet throughout; functional windows for fresh air; powerful AC unit; large work desk; ergonomic rolling chair; conveniently placed waste + recycling receptacles. The huge leather sectional is an awkward sit for those with short frames/legs, but not terribly uncomfortable. BED-- 👍 ok Clean, sturdy, & well-maintained. The queen mattress wasn't firm enough for me but it's great for those that like softer profiles... Bedding was cozy. TV-- 👎 poor Small older model Samsung TV on swivel base with universal remote for Dish set top box. The HDMI connection was flimsy so it took some effort to troubleshoot before we could actually watch TV. Most of the remote buttons aren't compatible with this TV & require multiple presses, perfectly aimed at the receiver. Not great for navigating the thousands of channels. WI-FI -- 👍 good FREE ENCRYPTED WI-FI! Performance is average on throughput but it's secure & we appreciate that 🙌. Great QoS. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - great Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 11 - 15 Mbps download 3-6 Mbps upload Packet loss: 0% BATH -- 👍 ok High cleaning standards. Design-wise it was a bit dated but functional & well-maintained. The combination shower was uncomfortably tight & the water pressure was weak; didn't enjoy the shower experience, despite the strong ventilation & the Dove bath products line. FOOD & DRINK-- 👍 great DoorDash/UberEats friendly. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast is provided & the eggs/omelets tasted so good! Full fridge & kitchenette in the room, along with Mini coffee bar & a full size microwave. NOISE -- 👍👎 Great noise isolation & no complaints about guests or cleaning staff. External noise from the nearby Highway & parking lot loitering can be loud. VERDICT Final Price: $202.88/night Was it worth it: yes. Best part: breakfast Great service, good food, & competitively priced. Not the best sleep but it's easily the best hotel within this stretch of Livermore. # 183. CHECKIN & LOCATION -- 👍 great Empathetic staff & fast checkin! The lobby is uniquely decorated with a mix of old & new design patterns. Comfortable & visually engaging. Convenient parking was just steps from our door! Getting around was a little tricky & the scale of their maps is challenging, but eventually we acclimated. ROOM [Garden Deluxe] -- 👍 great Looked clean & felt clean. The room was nice & spacious with plenty of storage for all of our stuff. Great aromas were in the air, although the pine/wood scent was overwhelming to my partner. AC system was frustrating due to its location & its performance. Gorgeous aesthetic with functional windows, strong lighting, & ample seating options.
BED -- 👍 great Good sheets. ✅ Good pillows ✅ Good mattress ✅ Good sleep. BATH -- 👍 good Medium sized bathroom, which gets very hot due to the light choice & ventilation performance. This can be a pro/con depending on your preference. Shower experience wasn't as strong as other amenities, yet still a good value. The small shower space still delivers on good pressure & temps. Tarocco toiletries & bath products were provided along with a good brand of towels. FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great Restaurant on site offer SUPERB in-room dining--pricey ($18-41) but worth it, except the horchata! Mini-fridges were stocked with decent mixers & complementary Ghirardelli's chocolate in-room. Pepsi vending scattered throughout the property along with ice machines. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great Mounted television with good programming (direct TV) & premium features, like a Netflix integration. Around the property are ducks, koi, & thought-provoking statues. Walking around the property is such a calming experience. Something for guests of all ages. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 great 📶 great performance all-around for work, multi tasking, & multiple devices. --Performance-- Video streaming - great Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 170-217 Mbps download 263-317 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 7.2 ms latency 6.2 ms jitter NOISE -- 👍 good Can be hit or miss depending on neighboring guests or restaurant crowd. Yes Best part: pond (koi & ducks) This place was SPECTACULAR. All the pros greatly outweigh any cons we documented. I highly recommend this location for couples & anyone looking for a staycation w/delicious food, little ducks, & good vibes. Looking forward to staying here again & trying more configurations. 5/5 ⭐

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Ideal representatives at the front desk: stylish, friendly & all smiles! Free early checkin & uncovered parking were available. Checkin speed wasn't the fastest, but the experience was pleasant. Phone service was occasionally slow at times. Tap payment was broken here which was a bummer. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great Lavish, sophisticated, comfortable-- a dream of a lobby. Then onward to the spacious, speedy, & see-through lifts that zip you to your floor. Looking out into the common area was a real treat. Interior walkways were very well-maintained enclosed by beautiful balustrades. ROOM (guest room) -- 👍 great Incredibly spacious, classy, and exceptionally clean. Strong lighting from the faux balcony & overhead fixtures pair well with the high ceilings & glossy flooring (tile entryway, plush carpet). I was really impressed with the AC system: virtually silent with awesome performance. There's a ton of storage space for extended stays & a productive ergonomic workspace setup for remote work. Cons: Not enough waste receptacles & no recycling 💔♻️ BED -- 👍 great We slept like babies in our Double Queen configuration: Beauty Rest mattresses dressed in a very cozy, very breathable cotton mix of linens. The choice of pillow fill was also the perfect density. Superb sleeping arrangements. BATH -- 👍 great Very high cleaning standards on display in this regal masterpiece of a bathroom. The glass shower is big enough for a dance party while the tub is deep enough to fall sleep in. There's a surplus of grooming toiletries (essential elements) + hand showers that provide unyielding, rejuvenating, water pressure. Solid facilities all-around. The towels are on the smaller side but the heavy bathrobes were very comfortable & absorbent. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good ~40" SAMSUNG LCD HDTV on a fixed mount w/DirectTV service. The wall mount wasn't optimal for such an oversized room, offering no extension, rotation, or tilt. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Average, unencrypted, complimentary WiFi offering. We experienced frequent disconnects, so QoS could be improved. It's really something special when you can order an entree with fries that are 100% perfectly cooked. Microwave, coffee bar, & (medium) mini fridge in the room. NOISE -- 👍 great Not a peep. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOCATION -- 👍 great It's near the freeway but that posed no issues & we felt safe with the surroundings. VERDICT Final Price: $161.50/night Was it worth it? CHECKIN & SERVICE -- 👍 great Swift contactless checkin with a very engaging & attentive host. They're flexible with arrival times & communication methods (sms, 3rd party, email). Highly responsive too! ROOM -- ok 👍 Spacious, clean, & contemporary unit. The texture of the stone flooring really feels soothing on the feet. There's plenty of storage space for personal items. My only cons here are: the loud AC unit, the small table/workspace, & lack of easily accessible outlets. Not very functional for remote work. BED -- 👍 great The mattress was very restful. Good firmness level & good supportiveness. I really like the pillows here for the unique density; thick but still incredibly soft. The bed side amenities were also tasteful. BATH -- 👍 great The best part of the stay-- a deep outdoor spa tub equipped with a long hand shower. Perfect for a couples bath. There's also a spacious walkin shower inside the unit-- Very strong water pressure. The towels were large, fluffy, & in great condition. The overall design of the bathroom is beautiful & the theme was very fun. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great Huge (55+) wall mounted flat screen Onn Roku TV with smart capabilities. SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 ok Decent checkin speed, bogged down with handwritten paperwork. Parking available onsite & tap pay is accepted but they're not optimized for it. No impression of the customer service/hospitality from the front desk, but the security guard & housekeepers I ran into were friendly. $50/night deposit. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 good Keycard required at every transition: entering building, operating elevator, etc. An unassuming & simple lobby compared to the elevators & corridors, but it was well-maintained. The layout & design of upper hallways was a bit of a maze; not the best use of color psychology & signage could be better. High cleaning standards throughout. ROOM (suite) -- 👍 good Modern 1-BR carpeted suite with ample lighting (overhead + natural). Lots of seating options & storage, but tabletop space is very limited. Despite the size, Its not the most functional for a large party if doing more than sleep. Based on the security posture, I'm surprised there wasn't a deadbolt on the door. BED -- 👎 poor The mattress was significantly past its prime & not the most supportive, but it's adequate for passing out after walking the strip. Average sheets & pillows. BATH -- 👍 great Large, incredibly clean, & modern. The design is more traditional/humble but robust in function, offering multiple vanities, strong water pressure, & hefty towels. I really enjoyed the shower experience. The toiletries (Pure by gloss) are not a favorite yet they're good in a pinch. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good Multiple ~40" flatscreen LG HD TVs. Typical unmounted hotel TV with good accessibility for hdmi/streaming devices. WI-FI -- 👍 ok A lot of packet loss, but really strong throughout. Vegas WiFi did not disappoint when it came to remote work. --Performance-- Video streaming - Good Online gaming - Good Video chatting - Good --Nerd Stats-- 210-340 Mbps download 48-176 Mbps upload 1.7% packet loss 6 ms latency 10 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good DoorDash contactless delivery is a no-go but there's a full kitchenette with all the things! Multiple sets of dishes, utensils, & cups were stocked & ready for use. I was impressed with the cleaning standards. Convenience foods are also available for purchase in the lobby. NOISE -- 👍 good While the building isn't sound proof, the environment wasn't louder than other nearby properties. Expect to endure the occasional "sounds of Vegas" ( sirens, horns, etc). LOCATION -- 👍 good VERY strong security presence, for better or for worse (flashing lights outside the bedroom window) & close enough to the strip if you don't mind walking. DURING RACECAR SEASONS: I don't recommend ride share / car service from here; Usual shortcuts, backroads, parking lots routes, etc weren't available. VERDICT Final Price: $260.77/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: location The amenities & price point are very competitive. F-1 construction has made this spot a little more inconvenient, but that applies to everywhere else on & off strip. I would absolutely stay here again & highly recommend it to anyone considering an off-strip stay. 4/5⭐️

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 good A well-lit, clean, & polished lobby with a welcoming atmosphere. The decor was impressive here, then flat everywhere else. Hospitality was consistent & strong from reception to security staff. A++. $25 early checkin fee (+ tax) killed the vibe though 😕. MVP employees: Terrance ROOM [Premier Double Queen] -- 👍 Typical Double floorplan with decent tabletop space, seating, & storage for 2. Wallpaper has seen much MUCH better days OTOH & the colors were boring (old-world browns). Thankfully south/southeast facing rooms receive plenty of natural light, salvaging the mood. It's pretty bare bones outside of that. BED (Double) -- 👎 bad Unenjoyable sleep experience. I felt no support from either of the mattresses. Linens were rough & the pillow set was more decorative than functional. Just not a great composition. BATH -- 👍 great Dimensions were on the smaller side but it was a clean, simple, & effective space. Grout lines were pristine & the tiles themselves were beautiful. The shower experience was similarly impressive, delivering top-tier water pressure. Towels were overflowing in abundance & in good condition. The toiletry line (bodyograpby) was enjoyable too. TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- 👍 good A noteworthy entertainment center, minus the poorly designed remote. The TV solution was generic but the actual display was solid, installed on a flexible, premium mount 👌. A movie theatre & outdoor pool are also on the property (a bit of a walk due to the layout). In the casino were a large number of slots & a healthy number of table games active. Enrolling into the rewards program was buttery smooth due to how seamlessly it's integrated into the checkin process. Great customer experience on this front + rewards are more competitive than other brands. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Reasonable speeds for a free (insecure) tier. Cellular service was a struggle inside the room 😞. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - good Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 11-14 Mbps download 11-53 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 12 ms latency 2 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 ok Not DoorDash friendly. Snacks & beverages in the gift shop are overpriced; you're better off walking the (literal) 2 minutes to 7-11. Big chain restaurants like Wingstop & Panda Express can be found on the gaming floor. Wingstop service was disappointing: fry cooks need more training & professionalism. There's also a Starbucks on site (consistently out of ingredients). in-room: ❌ microwave (mini) ❌ mini-fridge (small) ❌ coffee ❌ tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE -- 👎👎 bad Prepare for Thin Walls™️ & pray guests in the adjoining room aren't into howling like wolves... or housekeepers choose to sort (glass) trash outside a different room @ 9am. LOCATION -- 👍 great I felt safe as a minority. Security presence was strong & alert, consistently checking key cards. Parking services were convenient, offering valet & self-park options. RECOMMENDATION & RATING Price: $88.99/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: activities Accommodations were quite bare bones (think Gold Coast hotel) & noisy. The gaming experience + amenities made up for it & I found myself enjoying this property a lot. I could see myself staying here again due to the competitive pricing & gambling rewards. Highly recommend this property if considering something up north & away from the strip. 4/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 ok Friendly staff at most levels with good energy & conversation skills. Early checkin was free & and a very generous late checkout of 2 pm offered (free). Satisfactory customer experience with room for improvement on timeliness: checkin speed wasn't as fast as the competition; phone service wasn't efficient & some calls went unanswered. $25/day Resort fees 🤢, which doesn't include the only important thing: WiFi. TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great The decor & vibe is very welcoming. Orientation of the lobby was unique, catering to a vintage & intimate vibe. I enjoyed the transitions, especially the regal elevators that zoom up & down (Keycard required) & the toasty-warm halls! * chef's kiss * ROOM [guest room] -- 👍 good This was a rarer floor plan & a nice change of pace from our 90+ stays this year. It felt familiar, like an apartment-home, with just as much function. Designed with warm colors, relaxing patterns & a well-balanced contemporary aesthetic. The space was ideal for 1, but sufficient for us as a couple. Storage was skimpy-- travel light if booking this room type. I loved the minimalist workspace, although the choice of chair was awful: itchy fabric, unsupportive ergonomics, & too noisy -- not ideal if traveling in a group bc of the piercing loud creeks. Good lighting coverage but their light switch situation is unintuitive, despite the labeling. BED (king) -- 👍 great Impressive attention to detail, from the tech-forward bedside utility (baseboard nightlights, USB-ready outlets) to the headboard textures. There's also a deep-sleep lavender sleep spray provided that actually works! No corners cut on pillow build or linens either. The mattress was sufficiently supportive, sheets were soft, & the pillows had a nice weighty fill. Absolutely delightful. BATH -- 👍 good A smaller, cozy, washroom. They compromise heavily on sink space so there wasn't much room for our personal toiletries. Very enjoyable shower experience for a streamline design. The traction was misaligned on the door so it didn't seal, but the water pressure was amazing. Designer (Thisworks) bath products were also pre stocked. The bath robes had a nice texture & heavy weight which perfectly matched the climate. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 great A --WUMBO-- wall-mounted 60" 4K LG smart TV featuring the status quo Marriott TV solution. These displays are beautiful & the quality is picture perfect! Apps are disabled but select streaming integrations are enabled (Netflix, etc) along with basic programming. A lot of hotels execute poorly on TV installations but Portland has been impressive. This is one of the rare moments where a fixed mount made sense. The ports aren't accessible sadly. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 ok ⚠️Lobby was a dead zone⚠️. higher floors will be invaluable for general cell service or to hotspot & avoid the overpriced WiFi. $4.99 standard & $9.99 premium Marriott tiers. Standard provides up to ~25 Mbps throughput, while the premium delivers 32-44 Mbps. This should really be covered by the resort fees (as is the norm...). Performance wasn't robust as a standalone offering & the markup felt predatory considering how poor reception can be on lower levels. Disappointed to say the least. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 39-44 Mbps download 32-43 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 9 ms latency 3 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 poor NOT DoorDash friendly⚠️. Ordering room service was a hassle. It took a few attempts to even reach the restaurant by phone and then to get the correct orders. In the end, we weren't impressed by the food: There were some nice flavors in the risotto. It was just too dry to enjoy & did not taste as if it were cooked-to-order. Seafood was undercooked. Again, the seasoning was stellar, but their chefs seem inexperienced. Not worth the effort, on top of the high price tag. Small mini fridge & a refreshing coffee bar in room with Ice machines on the floor. There's also a mini market downstairs for misc. food items. NOISE -- 👎 poor Rooms next to the stairs are not ideal.
The housekeeping staff are also disruptively loud & don't seem to know the patterns. Room for improvement on training. The fridge condenser was painfully noisy, as you'll hear in the video. RECOMMENDATIONS Final Price: $131.50/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: accommodations These were some of the better accommodations that Portland had to offer, but there's a gap or lack of experience in managing the end-to-end customer experience. The restaurant is lagging behind on quality & the customer service has room for improvement. Phone service in particular needs more emphasis as it's a chore to ride up & down 15 floors for trivial asks. I don't think their full potential was on display & I'd love to review this one again, but lukewarm recommendation for now. 3.5/5 ⭐️ @mrstaycation

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 ok Stunning architecture & impeccably clean public spaces. Visually impressive but not as strong functionally: the flow was wonky, signage was ambiguous, & there's so little seating, that a mass of people were queued sitting on the floor. The lobby was more crowded than your local high school mall & there simply weren't enough staff to keep up. Phone service was impossible during this time. Checking in was pleasant after making it through the queue & early checkin was free. Elevators are fast & spacious but somehow there just aren't enough. Getting into or out of the room became a chore, especially during checkout (mega oof). ⚠you'll want to check out extra early to avoid the congestion⚠ MVP employees: Aileen ROOM [Resort King Room] -- 👍 great ruclips.net/video/FnozYo-P2oQ/видео.html Newly remodeled & beautifully executed, with an immersive theme & color patterns that melt the stress away. Spacious enough for a small family, making it just as big as it is beautiful✨. Floor to ceiling windows get plenty of natural light, compensating perfectly for the dim in-room installation. Views vary, but it creates a nice vibe when using the dedicated workspace. The (worn) seating seems to have missed "the update", during remodel... Air circulation wasn't great because my room was dusty despite the excellent turnover. Hopefully the dirty, high-contact, loose paper DnD signs are included in the next remodel🤞. BED -- 👍 great Sleeping arrangements were even better than The Palms 😯. Pillow-tops felt like buoyant clouds & this mattress line (Simmons) works wonders on the spine 😌. Pillows, linens, & comforters were equally magnificent. A truly luxurious bed-spread when it comes to materials & thread count. Bedside utility was also strong thx to the various ports & low-light sources. BATH -- 👍 great Faaantastic, from the huge double vanity to the stupendous tile work. The shower experience was a stark contrast to the EPIC soaking tub, especially since the water takes so long to heat. FWIW the water pressure was redeeming & bath products are provided👌. TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- 👍 great Highly user-friendly entertainment center for your gaming/streaming hookups. Hundreds of cable channels are available + calming contemporary essentials, like the aquarium & fireplace channels 😌. The casino is the main event ofc & comfortably does its job; the gaming floor was in pristine condition, smelled nice, & seating space felt more generous than other hotel casinos. Plenty of non-gambling activities too like: Shopping till you drop waiting for check-in, watching live entertainment (Michael Jackson), or taking a dip in the pool. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 great Solid complementary WiFi offering. Adequate for singular & over employed work. --Performance-- Video streaming - Great Online gaming - Great Video chatting - Great --Nerd Stats-- 19-74 Mbps download 14-40 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 5 ms latency 1 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 poor Underwhelming in-room dining menu; an old-world selection of low effort entrees. SOL for those w/food allergies... Minibar drinks are exuberantly overpriced; $24 water was disheartening in this climate 😕. The snack shops & stores have much more variety, featuring a multitude of fresh + imported foods. ⚠some of the imported brands have domestic suppliers if you're craving, for instance, the $15 hi-chews. Food court was a little better in terms of practical eating, but the options weren't that exciting. in-room: ❌ microwave (mini) ✅ mini-fridge (small); available for a fee. ✅ coffee/tea ❌ wet-bar ✅ mini-bar NOISE -- 👎 poor Rough when fully booked, esp adjoining rooms. The carpet doesn't seem to dampen sound for those below rooms either. LOCATION -- 👍 great I felt safe as a minority & my interactions with security were positive. It's an Incredibly convenient property; everything one may need can be found inside or around the resort. The ride share pickup area was readily congested. It's worth the walk to arrange pickup at another garage FYI. (Unrelated but: Self-Park seems like a doozy for locals tho @ $20/hr.) RECOMMENDATION & RATING Final Price: $83.76/night Was it worth it? Yes Best part: bathtub Booking for a major weekend wasn't wise as It's an overwhelmingly popular destination. Everything else was amazing, minus the crowding & food prices; cost is relative but the markup just doesn't feel proportionate (Beverages cost as much as entrees--yikes). I could see myself staying here again bc the accommodations are just so good... 4/5 ⭐

CHECKIN & SERVICE -- 👍 good Checkin felt slow & inefficient; it would be nice to see more automation, tap pay, & less paper waste ♻️. This doesn't detract from the incredibly hospitable & earnest treatment I received from staff. The manager is a gem! Same goes for the guests; everyone I interacted with made me feel welcomed. Onsite Parking was very convenient. ROOM [Efficiency] -- 👍 good Cozy & well-staged square layout. This was easy to settle into because of the high cleaning standards & fairly accurate pictures online. The color palette was relaxing & the amenities were abundant, with lots of open space, storage, & Performant AC. Dimensions are comfortably spacious for 1-2. Nice tile & on-theme design, polished fixtures. For the not-so-good...: This room didn't have a views & lighting was mediocre. ⚠️ very few accessible outlets & even fewer 3-pronged sockets specifically.⚠️ The plastic dining chairs were brittle & uncomfortable. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 ok ~30" TV experience was a drag, although it is equipped with satellite. The outlet situation is cumbersome if you're thinking of connecting a Google TV/firestick/etc. Tanning, chatting with the community, & swimming in the pool are the better sources of leisure entertainment. BED -- 👍 great Lovely frame design, headboard & aesthetic. The wall art wqs also well-curated. Silly-smooth linens were complemented by a premium pillow selection & the mattress provided excellent support. Very comfortable sleep... but I was awoken by noises around the property often. BATH -- 👎 poor The shower experience was too small for comfort... Water pressure was weak & there's not much control over ventilation. A hodgepodge of toiletries for bath products are provided although I recommend bringing your own. FWIW it was cute & they use a nice brand of towels. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Encrypted wifi! ❤️ Throughout is very asymmetrical which makes for a laggy experience. Still better than most places. Weak cell signal inside the unit (Verizon). --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - good Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 108-110 Mbps download 15-17 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 17 ms latency 12 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great DoorDash friendly. A Fully stocked kitchenette & full-size fridge make this a perfect option for those that love to cook. All the dishes & cookware were clean & ready to use. LOCATION & NOISE -- 👍 ok You pay a premiums price for the location. There's a lot of activities & stores in walking distance but ride share pickups take a while on this congested street. Lack of carpet in the units make 2nd floor for steps EXTREMELY noisy for first floor guests. VERDICT Final Price: $282.39/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: location Great location & great people, but fee structure was a turn-off. Fees are steep; deposit is steep; price for guests to enter pool is steep. Very "nickel & dime", & feels like a deterrent for bringing children or sharing the experience with friends, unless you're uncomfortable with "micromanaging" them. I felt the need to photos & video to document the condition of the room before I left... Accommodations were still decent & I enjoyed my stay. I wouldn't return but I would recommend it as a decent option. 4/5⭐️

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👎 poor A chaotic lobby situation: loud, unintuitive, & a huge vehicle "prize" impeding coherent navigation of the space. An overwhelming place to be during checkout or peak hours (FWIW I did checkin on Father's Day). Concierge was slower than other Wyndhams I've visited, too much pomp & circumstance IMO, but hospitality was excellent on every level. Thankfully there's a virtual (text) concierge to streamline questions/requests. The grounds are beautiful & public spaces are impeccably clean (⚠️mopping high traffic areas during checkout hour isn't safe FYI). Signage is both a little & a lot... even with their map it's easy to get lost initially. 11am late checkout MVP employees: April Jones ROOM -- 👍 good A layout which felt very nostalgic, like an east coast duplex. Lighting, storage, & spaciousness were A+. Seating was stiff & dated, unfortunately. The blindness for any ergonomics also hampered work productivity. No competent workspace here or in the "business center", which is more of an improvised public library corner. Birds regularly roost & tap on the windows, making the view a turn off💩. This is a solved problem in most places; not sure what the deal is here... ⚠️ The laundry detergent supplied is very harsh on clothes; I recommend bringing your own.⚠️ BED -- 👍 great Instant relaxation. High thread count sheets, house-brand pillows, cozy comforters, & an amazing BeautyRest mattress. The status quo Wyndham setup that always sleeps very very well. BATH -- 👎 poor small & underwhelming on maintenance/upkeep. The vanity was sufficiently spacious, staged with a few stock toiletries. Their usual bath product line wasn't setup, which was a bummer because it's quite nice. It wouldn't have made a difference tho because our sink was clogged & the water never seemed to heat up. Shower experience was also poor: The tub was severely worn tub & towels were rough, thin, & ready to be recycled/replaced. TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- 👍 great 2 HD TVs supported by very functional entrainment centers. They're easy to connect & configure for game consoles or streaming devices. Cable signal was crystal clear, providing a dense channel selection. Outside the unit were activities GALORE: A highly social pool area, movie theatre, spa services, & a gym. All of these spotless, well-maintained, & the vibes were always friendly. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Good enough for work. Status quo unencrypted ~25 Mbps hotel WiFi. Cellular preformed perfectly. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 24-25 Mbps download 22-23 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 6 ms latency 31 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great Not DoorDash friendly. There's a variety of on-premise options for food, including: a snack market, Starbucks, & deli. I tried the breakfast bacon & hash browns. It wasn't awful but was horrifically overpriced for generic-from-frozen sides. Vending machines & water stations were well-positioned & available throughout the property. In-room we had a full kitchen with all utensils needed to create delicious home cooked meals. Appliances just aren't the latest nor greatest. The sink installation feels like a practical joke: the dimensions are impractical & leak water everywhere. in-room: ✅ microwave ✅ fridge ✅ coffee ✅ tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE -- 👍 good Surprisingly good acoustics sans the sound of kids running through halls. LOCATION -- 👍 great Safe property with top notch security staff. Smooth ride share pickup/drop-off experience + complimentary shuttles to the strip! They don't run very late (9am-9pm), but the frequency is adequate (30m). RECOMMENDATION & RATING Final Price: $94.23/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: activities Amenities & convenience couldn't be stronger at this price point. Transitions & furnishings leave much to be desired. I highly recommend this location for budget-friendly groups looking to have an off-strip experience. 4/5 ⭐️

LOBBY & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great An enticing property, inside & out. The building is visibly worn in places, but it's well-maintained for a water front style property. Common spaces are cushy, clean, & expertly staged. The walk to a room can be lengthy & elevators slow. Luckily their signage is coherent. ROOM [Deluxe King] -- 👍 good A Modern design, with a dated vibe. Equipped with sufficient storage + a high quality ergonomic workspace. Cleaning standards were top notch. Views from the balcony were serene. For the not-so-good: Lighting was poor; electrical wiring seems poor; the provided surge protector didn't work; the AC was loud; & the thermostat in this unit wasn't calibrated/accurate. BED -- 👍 ok The mattress was comfortable & I liked the pillow quality. Sheets were soft & clean, like everything else. My biggest complaint is the lack of duvet bc it gets awfully cold... In the end, sleep was "fine". BATH -- good 👍 Small split bath design. The dimensions are kind of awkward; no functional issues though. It does take ages for water to heat up (feels very wasteful😞). Still, the shower experience was a good one. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good TV is so small... It really wasn't worth the hassle, even with a GoogleTV. The trails & marina are the real treasure here-- step outside! WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 poor Internet needs more bandwidth & better QoS to prevent all the disconnects. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 6-8 Mbps download 7-16 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 9 ms latency 5 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good DoorDash friendly. The lobby drink fridge was out of order during my stay. Ice & vending are still available on floors. In-room: ✅Small mini fridge ✅Coffee in room ✅ mini microwave NOISE -- 👎 poor Wildlife is absurdly loud (ducks, geese, seagulls). Overhead planes are another external noise pollutant. Walls are thin; I overheard an entire phone conversation in the adjoining room ☹️. LOCATION -- 👍 great Gorgeous sunsets, fishing spots, & tidy property grounds worth a stroll. The area also felt safe. VERDICT Final Price: $154.66/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: views The ducks are INSANE, but this was still a fun staycay. Maintenance needs to tighten up a bit so I can give this property the 5* it deserves. I see myself staying here again & would definitely recommend it. 4/5 ⭐️

SERVICE -- 👎 bad No early checkin, nor on time. Late checkin (by a few hours) seems to be the norm so prepare to walk around the property or enjoy a marathon wait in the lounge. Extremely indifferent & unproductive conversations over phone with the receptionists & restaurant staff. There is a virtual concierge via SMS, but no one pays attention to this or cares to respond & typical keywords do nothing (I don't see any value of having this system). Phone calls occasionally went unanswered & required multiple attempts. Multiple concierge touch points, but in practice the staff aren't setup for success, trained, or invested in earning/redeeming your business. Yet another property lacking any understanding or training in the concept of hospitality & service. Laundry (sans dry-cleaning) services are available, but it's a bit of a lottery with 3 (out of 4) washers & 8 dryers allocated to the entire tower. One of the washing machines had very intense mold! ROOM [1BR] -- 👍 ok Spacious but incredibly dated furniture with a dreary color palette of green, brown, & yellow Low cleaning standards with surfaces dirty to the touch; sticky surfaces & ants [wet bar]; crumbs on table; stained curtains. Phones regularly malfunction (line continues ringing after being answered...). The wooden work desk has seen better days but there's a huge glass overlay on the surface with ample room for planning & organizing ideas. The desk chair is also ergonomic and rolls. Lots of drawers, cabinets, and closet space for personal items. Comfortable for 2 or more. BED -- 👍 ok Really small (standard size) pillows on king size bed. The mattress could use a refresh but the bedding was clean, comfortable, & cozy. Sleeps well without the AC on; of the 2 working vents in the unit, one is facing directly at the head of the bed. Not ideal if you're sensitive to noise or dislike the constant pressure on your face. TV -- 👍 good 2 large 50" flat screen LG TVs on swivel bases. No apps or additional functionality outside basic programming, but the ports are accessible for connecting other devices. There are also PS3's configured to play DVDs if feeling nostalgic. BATH -- 👎 ok Bathroom is only accessible through the bedroom. The tile work is nice & the bathtub has great depth for a soak and bath bomb ( bath salts were the only thing we found on the island in walking distance). Great water pressure in the shower with a 6-spray pattern shower head, but ours was dirty & overdue for a replacement (a ring of dirt around the nozzle). HVAC is a disaster. No ventilation & vents have never been serviced/cleaned by the looks of it. The bathroom is lacking a manual or auto exhaust of any kind. The closeted toilet is especially bad and becomes a hot box after a few minutes, pile on the weak water pressure & slow flush. Bath robes have a nice design, but the material isn't comfortable or what you'd expect in terms of weight or texture for a high-humidity environment. Odd lack of hooks, bars, or drying racks to encourage towel reuse or simply hang a bathrobe while showering. FOOD -- 👎 No minibar, room service, or UberEats/DoorDash options. Mini coffee bar in the room. Unusually difficult to obtain water from eateries or the property & just a single water station per main entrance. Really suboptimal for such a large property, so fill up frequently when leaving the room. No call-ahead takeout or room service (except pizza delivery), so every meal is a bit of a walk. Generally amusement park quality food (low effort & overpriced sit-down dining); unappetizing presentations, dirty shrimp & cheap condiments [lagoon grill]. Quality & correctness was also an issue (had to place the same order multiple times for pizza) [Nui Italian]. Various places regularly run out of ingredients well before closing and simply drop the ball wrt encouraging repeat business... [market place, Juice bar, etc]. Powder/reconstituted eggs served at the breakfast buffet. I witnessed a number of people steal pastries from the breakfast buffet, so those must be good, but cannot confirm. Food staff are not equipped to navigate conversations about dietary restrictions. Finding WHO to talk to or WHERE to get nutrition information is difficult. Wi-Fi -- 👎 bad Poor QoS and frequent disconnects on mobile devices. This is a huge problem because cellular networks are frequently too congested to function (in or outside the property), despite having full bars and experiencing no obvious dead zones. When connected, the actual performance is.... abysmal: 6-15 Mbps download 1-3 Mbps upload Not workcation friendly, so forget about multitasking or video conferencing. Coverage in the rooms is also spotty. NOISE -- 👎 poor Sound isolation between neighboring walls seems good. But you're at the mercy of upstairs guests and kids running outside the walkways as noise leaks significantly in from the entrance. There was drilling/construction above us from 9 am onward during the weekend. VERDICTS Final Price: $153.11/night Was it worth it: no Best part: views Very disappointing way to spend time in Hawaii. I do not recommend this location. 0/5⭐️

CHECKIN & SERVICE -- 👎 ok Staff were generally unenthusiastic & checkin was slow (3rd party booking workflow isn't particularly fluid). Early & late checkout offered at no additional charge. Extra-late checkout is available for an additional fee (2hrs/$75, 4hrs/$150). Parking is quite expensive, Valet: $47 & self park: $35. electronic (online) & credit card (chip) payment methods supported. LOBBY, ELEVATORS, CORRIDORS -- 👍 great The lobby is huge & has a very unique flow to it. Seating was comfortable & there's plenty of decorations, art, & factoids scattered around to keep one entertained. The elevators require a keycard to operate but they are spacious & move incredibly fast. Corridors are wide & have good upkeep. ROOM [QUEENS GUEST ROOM; BUNK BEDS, PARK VIEW] -- 👍 great The aesthetic is very sleek, crisp, & bright. We really enjoyed the color palette, furnishings, & overall design of the room: high-ceilings, hardwood floors, GREAT natural lighting, full-size mirror, an array of seating options, some really fun art pieces, & a gigantic armoire. There's more than enough storage (and space) for a family or couple's extended stay. Cons: The accent chairs weren't cleaned well (stains & crumbs), windows aren't functional, & the AC is loud. BED -- 👍 good We slept in a double queen configuration & really enjoyed the mattress; great amount of support + firmness. The rest of installation & bedding was quite underwhelming: the pillows were extremely light & thin, the bedskirt was dirty, sheets felt very generic, & the duvet was weak. BATH -- 👍 good Yet another trendy sliding door entrance... but with a solid bathroom experience behind it; comfortably spacious (medium-size), decent water pressure, large towels, soft cotton bathrobe, gorgeous glass shower with a lengthy hand shower + pre-stocked bath products & an electric vanity. Cons: towels are a bit coarse, the ventilation isn't great. TV -- 👍 great Large 55" LG HD LCD flat on a stationary wall mount. Satellite programming & streaming services are available. The remotes are clean & in good condition. Wi-Fi -- 👍 great The complimentary WiFi is unencrypted but incredibly fast! --Nerd Stats-- 180-240 Mbps download 210-223 Mbps upload 0.4 % packet loss 6 ms latency 1 ms jitter --Performance-- Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - GREAT FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great Not a DoorDash friendly location but there are a lot of food & drink offerings onsite, with allergy friendly accommodations. Dinner entrees range between $45-72 USD. The market has really delicious scones & blended drinks (give the frozen lemonade a try). Rooms are equipped with small mini fridge's & coffee bar. Cons: The fridges can be annoyingly noisy & ours leaked throughout our stay. NOISE -- 👍 good Soundproofing was great inside & out but the booming fireworks woke me up on occasion. It's not the worst thing to be woken up to, but takes a bit of adjusting to if you're a light sleeper. RECOMMENDATION & RATING Final Price: $173.47/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: Fireworks show (park view) I had a wonderful stay here & even extended my reservation a few times because of the convenience & comfort. I look forward to returning & highly recommend this property if you're looking for something close to Disneyland or just in the mood for an awesome staycation. 4.5/5⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 good Kid friendly & pet friendly with parking & early checkin (free) 🙌. The parking is a bit expensive: $37 self-park, $40 valet. The in-person customer service was really strong here; the representative I worked with was very efficient, professional, and enthusiastic. Phone service wasn't as consistent & training could be improved in the ability to transfer calls and program buttons (it was very hard to reach the right people from our room). LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- 👍 great The lobby and garden areas are amazing. The aesthetic is very appropriate for the area with a swanky & serene vibe. Elevators are very fast, spacious, & have a lot of helpful information posted inside. I like the huge corridors and color scheme used but the hallway trash pickup isn't as frequent as it should be. ROOM (guest room) -- 👍 ok ruclips.net/user/shorts4U6DTCsApzI We were really impressed with the housekeeping in the room-- exceptionally clean & the staging was cute. A++ The layout is your typical L-shape, with balcony & hardwood flooring. Lighting was excellent-- So much natural light. The room is spacious enough for 2 & equipped with: full-size mirrors, ergonomic workspace, electronic (quiet) AC, & accent chair. Cons: workspace is shared with entertainment center; no seating options on balcony; not much storage space; floorboards are warped & creek. BED -- 👎 bad We slept in a double queen configuration, but it was painful. The mattresses are soft, but not at all supportive-- bad combo. The pillows were as bad as other reviews mention; the (lacking) density makes them functionally useless & whoever is in charge of this stock did not properly evaluate. Redeeming qualities? The headboard has a nice texture. BATH -- 👍 good Clean & beautifully staged by housekeeping. The design is impressive, utilizing stone tiling to create a spa vibe. Lots of Oliva Farmacia toiletries are provided & the fixtures are well-chosen. The polyester bathrobe felt so cozy. Cons: water pressure is weak throughout; small space; towels are on the smaller side; slippers didn't fit. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 ok 55" LG HD Flat screen TV on a swivel base with universal remote & focal set top box. Smart functionality is disabled as usual. Google TV friendly. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 ok Complimentary wifi is encrypted with (occasionally) impressive speeds. The QoS isn't tuned particularly well so performance ends up being flaky. Disconnects were frequent during our stay. Not the most stable for work. Verizon service in the area was great. --Nerd Stats-- 44-57 Mbps download 25-37 Mbps upload -% packet loss 28 ms latency 54 ms jitter --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - poor Video chatting - poor FOOD & DRINK -- 👎 ok DoorDash friendly location. The adjacent restaurant also offers in-room dining with entrees priced between $28-53. There isn't much to accommodate those with multiple food allergies but the cocktails are good. Seasoning on the lamb entree was delicious! Rooms are equipped with mini-coffee bars & medium mini fridges. The mini-bar experience needs improvement. A key is required to unlock the cabinet containing the mini-bar fridge (a detail not communicated at checkin). The inventory isn't rotated as a result & the fridge isn't regularly cleaned. Cons: The electronic & printed menus aren't in-sync, causing all sorts of confusion when ordering food; chef's choice lamb was overcooked. NOISE -- 👎 ok 50-50 on loudness. Half of the time it was quiet enough to relax & enjoy the tune of water fountains below. The remaining half was dominated by loud city noises, throughway traffic, & loiterers in the parking lot. YMMV LOCATION -- 👍 great The area feels safe & there's a rich amount of culture to consume in the vicinity. VERDICT Price: $181.50/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: garden The flow here isn't the most cohesive & the customer experience could really benefit from increased attention to detail by management. Yet, it's still a beautiful property with a lot to offer, providing a unique experience that is definitely worth checking out. 3.5/5 ⭐️

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👎 poor $30 early checkin fee, following a 15 minutes wait at the unmanned front desk seems ironic 🤔. Not off to a great start, but it would track with the rest of this staycation experience LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- 👍 ok Great themes & claustrophobia. The corridors stay true to the original design of the building. Dimensions are challenging: tiny entrances, narrow halls, & the elevator holds 1, max, with luggage. ROOM [Suite] -- 👎 bad Not at all as contemporary nor accurately depicted by the website images. Instead, it was a dark color palette & an old-world vibe; very much of the times wrt fixtures, appliances, etc. The aromatics were nice & there was plenty of storage, but the building is overdue for a massive reno: LOUD radiators, thin walls & floorboards warped beyond belief or gapped (covered with carpet😳). BED -- 👍 great The bed was quite glorious: Fluffy, supportive, clean, & perfect pillows . Bedsheets were well-curated & the linens, as a whole, were spectacularly. Unfortunately, adjoining doors are situated only a few feet between the bed of this unit & common area of the other unit (!?). Conversations at normal volume are completely audible through the door. I couldn't sleep & left the first night. BATH -- 👍 good A positive shower experience with a good towel set + a textured bathrobe. Status quo designer bath products are provided, but the dispensers were broken/clogged. The water pressure was amazing tho. ⚠️Beware the impossibly low toilet. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good Nice setup featuring a beautiful 46" Samsung FHD TV. The universal remote doesn't do this model justice though. Limited channel set with just basic programming WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 poor Great cell reception (Verizon) WiFi offering is a bit disingenuous (encrypted WiFi for hotel employees; not for guests). Performant enough for work but also a lot of pocket loss. --Performance-- Video streaming - great Online gaming - great Video chatting - great --Nerd Stats-- 9-46 Mbps download 41-46 Mbps upload 0.7% packet loss 6.25 ms latency 14 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good Surprisingly competitive on these amenities with a fully stocked mini bar. The room also provides a wet bar, mini microwave, & 2 Medium mini fridges. The only thing missing was coffee. A few room service offerings are also available. NOISE -- 👎 bad Severely warped floor boards reverberate like land mines 🐾💥🔊 The walls are thin so expect to hear everything from footsteps to device notifications. Ground level units are susceptible to a bunch of street noise/chatter + the usual city sounds (sirens, horns, emergency services). VERDICT Final Price: $110.93 Was it worth it: no Best part: bed The price is really competitive but in the end, it was not worth it. I cut my stay short & would not recommend this property. 2/5 ⭐️

    # 85. SERVICE -- 👍 great Great customer service, in a premier location, with tons of sponsored activities. The views are picturesque & the community/guests are welcoming. Even parking was convenient -- just steps from our room door! ROOM [] -- 👎 The rooms however, leave MUCH to be desired. When it comes to comfort, cleaning standards, & maintenance the execution fell flat. Walls are the epitome of thin, leaving you at the mercy of neighbors & the screeching birdies. For whatever reason the front door was notoriously difficult to open or fully close. The small TV was cute but had no apps or contemporary features. Hot water from the kitchen faucet was non existent for us 🥶. The shower was seriously claustrophobic for someone with my frame (average height & weight). Wi-Fi --👎 bad It was free... and you get what you pay for: hardly performant nor comparable to the fiber speeds usually offered throughout this region: 8-10 Mbps download 1-2 Mbps upload It's certainly an experience, "roughing it" with a loved one if you're up for the challenge. FWIW we liked how soft & cushy the couch was, along with the amazing modular coffee table. VERDICT Final Price: $197.68/night Was it worth it: no Best part: Beach I wanted to like this one but it just wasn't "there". It has amazing potential but is overdue for a renovation or simply a different approach with more attention to detail (quality > quantity). I do not see myself returning & would not recommend this property. 2/5 ⭐️

    # 170. SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 good Big NO on early checkin (unless you're extremely lucky), but everyone was exceedingly professionally & attentive during my wait. A much warmer vibe than most Marriotts + prompt on phone service. The welcome gift was also just what I needed: cold water & a king size Twix! 😯 No late checkout though--they sell out quick! LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- 👍 good Jazzy tunes & a pleasing decor throughout the building; I really liked the vintage patterned halls. The cleaning standards were exemplary but their dining area could use a reupholstering. Elevators provided a good amount of space & speediness, the rickety rattling was just a tad unsettling... ROOM (suite) -- 👍 good A lot of character in the design: adequate natural lighting, well-positioned sleek lamps, a fun carpet pattern, & perfectly curated wallpaper. Dimensions were generously spacious (for 2) with enough hanging + drawer storage for an extended stay. A calming aesthetic that felt comfortable & familiar 😌. The dedicated workspace setup was very productive as well. HVAC/air circulation needs improvement: there was a lingering musk/must odor & I didn't have the luxury of functional windows; AC isn't properly tuned if you find yourself freezing on 70+ 🥶. BED -- 👍 ok Double Queen configuration. This Serta line wasn't a "wow!", but it did what it's supposed to. The springs are nearing end-of-life, so support was very minimal. Bedding was clean & of fair quality: 60/40 cotton blend. Pillow fill (down) lacks loft, so you'll want to stack these for maximum comfort. BATH -- 👍 good Medium-sized bathroom featuring a stylist tile selection & clever paneling. Substantially worn in some areas but that didn't subtract from the experience. Traditional combination shower/bathing experience, provided with designer bath products (Alice+Co) & PLENTY of towels + toiletries. Water pressure, temperature, & ventilation were adequate. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 ok Really unbalanced. The Samsung TV was just too small, especially for a double mattress configuration. Universal remote selection was an Enseo... the ergonomics just don't feel right to me. Basic cable & the usual Marriott Streaming integrations are available (Netflix, RUclips, etc). WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 ok Between good & average on carrier (Verizon) reception. Free unencrypted WiFi is available. As far as value goes...: It works. Not much more to say beyond that. --Performance-- Video streaming - bad Online gaming - poor Video chatting - poor --Nerd Stats-- 9-11 Mbps download 9-11 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 37 ms latency 69 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great DoorDash friendly. A large breakfast offering from 630-930am with a lot of convenience food offerings on site as well: mini market, artisan coffee bar. There are plenty of chain restaurants within walking distance too. In-room amenities included a mini microwave, medium mini fridge, & instant coffee bar. Ice machines accessible on guest floors. ❗Don't forget to check-in on Yelp for a free item from the mini market! ❗ NOISE -- 👍 good The building design & materials mean this could go either way... but my stay was peaceful & quiet. YMMV. Avoid a room by the ice machine & book a top floor if you're noise sensitive. LOCATION -- 👍 great Easily accessible highway, IHOP across the parking lot (!), & interesting views. The area was mostly secluded & felt safe enough. VERDICT Final Price: $111.66/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: food & drink (coffee bar) Artisans of hospitality💗. The hospitality really took this experience to the next level for me. Good accommodations + an exemplary level of training & talent in customer service. I would absolutely stay here again & highly recommend this location. 5/5 ⭐

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👍 great Stylish hospitality staff & a free early-checkin policy always win me over. The actual checkin process has room to grown in terms of speed & efficiency. My impression was still favorable due to how earnest everyone was + the friendly banter. No late checkout offered, sadly. LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- 👍 great Cozy Cabin vibes ❤. I like the decor a lot: intimate, quaint, & charming. Their toasty lobby fireplace was a much needed treat. Such a great aesthetic. ROOM [Queen room] -- 👍 great ruclips.net/video/gZ17cRkdPRs/видео.html Fresh, clean, & unbelievably aromatic. This Double had generous dimension & was decorated with amazing stock. The curated vibe was consistent from entrance to room, enhanced by the tranquil wall art. Strong on design & strong on function with sliding windows, ergonomic rolling chair, a large natural wood desk, and really good lighting. Beautiful. BED (Queen) -- 👍 great A comfortable double configuration. All the making of a great winter sleep experience: extra pillows with a good fill, polyester linens to preserve heat, & a Serta mattress Very restful. BATH -- 👍 great Nice aesthetic and fixtures but embarrassingly thin towels; also on the smaller side Its a smaller space too but otherwise, this bathroom was a hit: Strong exhaust, crazy-good water pressure, contemporary washbasin & eye-catching backsplash along the vanity. The shower was a traditional combination alcove-- no frills. House brand toiletries are provided but BYOB for this one. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👎 ok Dated...: ~30" SD Panasonic TV. Quality is sufficient, just a lower resolution than normal. The biggest pain point is the remote choice: it can be a chore to get a signal to register. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 poor Rough... Very Low wifi bandwidth. Cell (Verizon) reception is in the boonies💔 --Performance-- Video streaming - bad Online gaming - poor Video chatting - poor --Nerd Stats-- 4-6 Mbps download 2-3 Mbps upload 0.3% packet loss 30 ms latency 89 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great 6-9 breakfast & DoorDash friendly. Microwave, small mini fridge, & Cuisinart mini coffee bar provided in-room. Vending machines are onsite (behind stairway). NOISE -- 👍 great Quiet as a mouse. VERDICT Final Price: $98.49/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: fireplace Awesome property & staff. The Wifi situation isn't suitable for remote work & you can forget about tethering. Still, it was a fun stay here & highly recommend it. 4/5 ⭐ @mrstaycation

SERVICE & CHECKIN -- 👎 poor 2 for 2 so far Chicago 💔. Unimpressed by the in-person experience & the $30 early checkin fee. The reservation system is inefficient & error-prone; despite paying for the reservation days in advanced & receiving a confirmation email; my room was never assigned... Lots of paperwork & an expensive self-park. LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS -- 👍 good intriguing & eclectic. The lobby is massive & I love the visuals. The aesthetic is unique, accompanied by some tasteful muzak. Transitions are a bit unpolished & narrow, with a single, slow~~~, elevator. ROOM [Executive king room] -- 👍 great clean & sufficient. It took some more effort to get the right room (management & training are a bit lacking). This room had its quirks but accommodations were good-enough despite: dated AC controls, a single light-switch for all light sources, broken closet door, stiff seating options. The experience was overall positive due to the amount of storage, generous dimensions, functional windows, & ergonomic workspace. BED (king) -- 👍 great I love the Beauty Rest Hospitality line. These mattresses are simply amazing. Very impressed with the quality of sheets (Wynrest linens: 200ct 60/40), pillows (weighty fiber fill), toppers (cloud soft), & duvet. Perfectly restful sleep every night! BATH -- 👍 good Small... with an elevated design The high quality tile create a nice aesthetic, anchored by a gorgeous pedestal sink. High cleaning standards were on display & functionally it was a great washroom. The toilet was just horrible in terms of height, flush, comfort. Trussardi toiletries provided. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good No corners cut on the feature-rich wall mount housing a "50 Samsung LCD FHD TV. The TV solution was very robust offering: movies for purchase, pre-installed Chromecast, cable programming, & miscellaneous electronic services. The Universal Remote is just dated & performance lags. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 bad "You get what you pay for " Even for "free" this was embarrassingly slow 🤕. QoS is tight but the throughput is just too low for work or multitasking. Cell reception (Verizon) was also so-so, even on upper floors. --Nerd Stats-- 1-7 Mbps download 3-4 Mbps upload 0 % packet loss 30 ms latency 51 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great DoorDash friendly. Rooms with microwave & medium mini fridge come at a premium. The cost is worth it, especially if you'll be storing leftovers from all the great restaurants nearby. Ice machines accessible on floor. $6 Fiji water in-room for your convenience 💸 NOISE -- 👍 good Lots of the typical city noises outside & doors inside do not block sound well. It's moderately quiet & peaceful inside the building, although I wouldn't recommend any rooms by a supply closet. LOCATION -- 👍 great Trader Joe's!!!! 😍 VERDICT Price: $100.94/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: location I enjoyed this property despite the WiFi situation. Not great for remote work but it's still solid: competitively priced, in a good location, with kind staff; just a bit inefficient. 4/5 ⭐️ @mrstaycation

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 ok The front desk is unattended for long periods of time; not a great initial experience. Early checkin is hit or miss irrespective of that. FWIW it's an impeccably clean lot & landscape. ROOM [motel] -- 👎 poor Cozy & quaint setup with attractive lighting. Dimensions were ideal for 1, or a very intimate couple, on a short stay. It's a feature-rich unit wrt amenities & the seating was strong on comfort & support. I observed ants around the room on multiple occasions which made me uncomfortable about ordering/storing food here. BED (Queen) -- 👎 poor You'll like this one if you prefer soft mattresses, but the support is all but gone. This was an excruciating sleep & the mattresses are overdue for a refresh. BATH -- 👎 Meh. The split-bath design was a win for its vanity & sink, while its other half was underwhelming. Weak water pressure made the shower experience unreliable. The soap dispensers were partially filled so I ran out of shampoo while washing my long luxurious hair... There were a number of alive bugs in the light fixture which was very off putting. TV & ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good Large HD LG TV with premium channels via DirectTV. Picture quality was great & no issues with cable service. The wall mount makes it difficult to use streaming/gaming HDMI devices. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 bad Cell service is abysmal in the room (Verizon). WiFi is inadequate for work & multitasking... a real bummer. It's consistently congested during prime time & coverage across the property is insufficient. --Performance-- Video streaming - poor Online gaming - poor Video chatting - poor --Nerd Stats-- 7-40 Mbps download 14-16 Mbps upload 0.8 % packet loss 26 ms latency 39 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good DoorDash friendly. There is a light breakfast offering provided in the reception area. Small mini fridge, coffee, & microwave provided in-room. FYI the nearby pokeworks is NOT good. NOISE -- 👎 bad Walls are UNCOMFORTABLY THIN; you hear everything at normal speaking volume. LOCATION -- 👍 great The location felt safe throughout the day. Walgreens is across the street along with a Tesla charging station. Great walkability to a number of staple storefronts. RATING & RECOMMENDATION Price: $138.55/night Was it worth it: no Best part: landscaping It presents well, but the quality of this property is just not there: so-so customer service, too many pests, terribad wireless infrastructure, & painful beds. It's also a motel, misrepresented as a hotel. The only redeeming quality would be its location. I would not return nor recommend this hotel. 2/5 ⭐️ @mrstaycation

SERVICE -- 👍 good Slow checkin but Michelle was very nice & provided great customer service. The welcome package is also very tasteful (refreshments, snacks, lei). High resort fees, with no breakdown of the fees & they don't appear to be used for anything lofty like donating to charity. Payment systems are also dated & don't support tap/electronic methods. Maid & bell services are available at select hours; this is a bit silly for a hotel to exploit resort fees without staff or a service solution outside peak hours. No late checkout offered & rushed out the room 10m before checkout into the small elevators... ROOM (studio) -- 👍 Lots of storage space & comfortably spacious for a party of 2. Fully functional kitchen, sans dishwasher, with all stainless steel appliances. Remote controlled AC unit is low performing & doesn't go below 64 (being on the 25th floor also doesn't help). Lovely view & patio; chairs could be made from a more comfortable material or offer better cushions. BATH -- 👍 ok A basic studio-apartment bathroom without ventilation or exhaust. Small shower walk-in shower with detachable multi spray-pattern shower head. Towels are on the smaller side & there are few hooks/bars to encourage reuse for a party of 2. Good water pressure throughout but the clogged sinks were slow to drain. BED -- 👍 good Small standard size pillows on king bed is disappointing but the mattress itself sleeps great! Bedding feels very budget/economic but it's clean & does the job. TV -- 👍 ok Basic programming TV; Samsung flatscreen wall mount. DVD rentals available which is handy due to lack of smart functions or casting support. Remote buttons are all faded so it's difficult to use if not familiar with a cable box. WI-FI -- 👍 ok Great download speeds but frequent packet drops. 72-79 Mbps download 15-24 Mbps upload 22 ms latency NOISE -- 👍 great Lots of external city noises (sirens, motorcycles, car horns, etc) but isolation between units is great & noise doesn't leak in from the hallway. FOOD -- 👍 great Restaurants on the property accessible from lobby & very tasty (shaved ice, ice cream, poke). The only access to ice is via the reception desk DoorDash/UberEats friendly with lots of options within pickup distance. Mini coffee bar provided in-room. RECOMMENDATION Price: $236.00/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: ice cream parlor Lots of room for service & maintenance improvements but oversell a solid experience & staycation worthy if you can get over the egregious resort fees & spotty internet. Outside of peak season I think this property would be very competitive price-wise & would recommend it. 3.5/5 ⭐️ @mrstaycation

SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 great Luxurious, lively, & lavish vibes. Attention to detail Cute paneling on doors. Upkeep & cleanliness was impeccable. The reception floor was reminiscent of Virgin Hotel, just brighter & MUCH larger. Customer service & Hospitality were on equal footing 👌 -- excellent staff, excellent training, excellent management. Fast (& reliable!) bell services was the icing on the cake 😌. Valet services were top-notch on departure too; engaging and speedy. MVP employees: Michael ROOM (Ivory King) -- 👍 great Dreamy amount of space, comfortable for 2 (possibly 3). It looked clean, FELT clean, & delightfully engaged all the senses. Floor to ceiling windows lording over the puny neighboring casinos, was an experience 🎩. Subtle details that also stood out were the aroma, color palette, & uniquely textured furnishings. Things that weren't so great: * Workspace is very thin & impractical. * Flimsy, dirty, loose paper DnD signs. * Ice bucket with leftover water 😕 BED (king) -- 👍 great Mind-blowing softness... 🫠. The Serta perfect sleeper was a brilliant mattress choice. Adorned with: Fresh AND sustainable linens, custom-made Extra fluffy duvet & Thiccc pillows w/a firm snuggly poly fill All very VERY nice. I didn't expect to love the overhead mirror much, but that grew on me <3. Overall an unforgettable sleep experience. BATH -- 👎 poor Chic, contemporary, & sexy aesthetic. Design-wise it's a hit. Light fixtures and wash basin installation stand out beautifully. But turnover really killed the mood 💔 . Cleaning standards were... shocking? The faucet in particular was lined with a mildew/paste/green muck 🤢. Mineral buildup on the shower head was off-putting & grout lines were unsightly. It's a shame to see such a pretty design wasting away prematurely. Adding insult to injury with the zero-entry shower that we all hate & the worn-down towels. House-brand bath products + toiletries are provided & they're quite good IMO. TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- 👍 Good 48" HD TV w/the same dated TV solution as BOYD hotels. This system was better in terms of the programming + features. Flexibility of the mount installation was excellent too. Gaming: SUPER strong reward program with extremely competitive bonuses for new members. These were better than Cesar's, MGM, & BOYD. The mobile app for this is a disaster-NIGHTMARE tho... Don't waste time installing it. An entire suite of spa services are offered & there's a pool (free for guests). Hours are also limited (10-5pm). WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 Good Unencrypted, free, & tolerable basic offering. It was sufficient for work, not so much if over-employed. Premium offering is 9.99 @ 40 Mbps, one of the less-offensive markups compared to other casino hotels. --Performance-- Video streaming - Great Online gaming - Great Video chatting - Great --Nerd Stats-- 13-18 Mbps download 16-19 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 7 ms latency 3 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 good Not DoorDash friendly. Allergen friendly room service was a win 😄. The actual cuisines tho... were not 😞. "In-room dining" is inaccurate here; it's takeout, delivered by a runner, in to-go containers. I tried the fire cracker chicken & regretted it: good cook on the protein, but the flavors were bland/missing. The "fire" didn't meet the bar for spicy asian cuisine. Portions were hefty, but unbalanced; the vat of sauce turned this meal into a messy 'soup' & was entirely too sweet. Bottomless mimosas & limitless lobster was a good-enough palette cleanser tho ($33). There are also chain restaurants if that's more your forte. Similar mini-bar/mini-fridge shenanigans as Virgin Hotel ☹. in-room: ❌ microwave (mini) ❌ mini-fridge (small) ❌ coffee ❌ tea ❌ wet-bar ✅ mini-bar ⚠restaurants will not provide free (tap) water with meals. Disingenuous considering 110 temps⚠ NOISE -- 👎 poor Acoustics were "challenging" from all the boom, badoom, boom, bass...😭. The party tunes started early, consistently (930am), & lasted for a solid 8 hours. Aim for a different tower and/or floor If this matters to you. LOCATION -- 👍 great A few miles west of the big strip action. Surroundings aren't the most vibrant, but this area is very functional+walkable (cvs, chain restaurants, etc). I felt safe as a minority & security presence was adequate. RECOMMENDATION Final Price: $82.23/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: gaming Amazing resort casino with next-level hospitality. So feature-rich in amenities & services that a mediocre turnover couldn't soil the experience... Bravo, Palms. I'm looking forward to trying the experiential rooms (bowling!) next time. Highly recommended. 4.5/5 ⭐ @mrstaycation
