SERVICE -- 👍 great I arrived in the dead of the night, but the receptionist still had a great attitude & was swift with the check-in. She simultaneously handled some obnoxious guests with incredible grace & professionalism. TRANSITIONS -- 👎 poor The aesthetic in public spaces has a very cool vibe. After progressing through the lobby, the allure sharply declines. The halls weren't pretty... Temperatures were also unbearable for Texas. Trash pickup was also too infrequent. ROOM -- 👎 ruclips.net/video/AgdlzbUiVL0/видео.html The status quo Element layout, slightly modified for Accessibility. If you've stayed in one, you've stayed in them all, nothing to lambaste about this time (the Elements @ San Jose airport is the best example IMO). The only con was the condition/upkeep (again). Cleaning standards were fine; this room just looked & felt very worn. Not a good vibe or lasting impression. BED -- 👍 great Good enough for recharging during a layover ✈. BATH -- 👍 good Clean & functional. No time to evaluate the shower. TV/ENTERTAINMENT -- 👍 good A 48-50" LG TV. I watched a few hours of cable and the quality was fine. The remote is a disaster ergonomically though, but that's a Marriott brand decision. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👎 poor Excellent cellular coverage in the room, but bare-minimum wireless. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - average Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 4-10 Mbps download 7-10 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 31 ms latency 29 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 great A full kitchenette stocked with multiple sets of ready to use dining & cook ware. in-room: ✅microwave (full-size) ✅mini-fridge (full-size) ✅coffee ✅tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar NOISE -- 👍 great Based off a single brief night, I have no complaints. LOCATION -- 👍 ok Security presence is noticeable & made me feel safe. Rideshare pickups & drop-off geography is a failure. The default GPS locations were always wrong. Someone should submit corrections to Google maps & co. VERDICT Price: free~ Was it worth it: yes Best part: hospitality Functionally it was fine & I liked the customer service. Cosmetically it was a nightmare in areas that matter most. Maintenance & a possible reno are overdue. For an extended stay It did not "feel" great/comfortable to be in. Will not return; lukewarm recommendation. 3/5 ⭐
