Sketch from the 1992 series of the hilarious British comedy show "The Mary Whitehouse Experience". Rob Newman as Robert Smith sings "The Laughing Policeman" (a very jolly song indeed) in The Cure's usual style (not very jolly at all), poking fun at the period when The Cure released "happy" and "poppy" songs. Brilliant!

Rutland Weekend Television - Gibberish
"Robert Smith cannot carry a happy tune." Friday I'm in Love: Am I a joke to you?
"Machine wrapped with butter."
This is way too kinky.
Didn't Smith himself actually appear on one of the last episodes on TMWE as he found this parody funny? To be honest, I've seen a few interviews with the guy and he usually comes across as a well-adjusted and pleasant person. Which he should be, given the amount of licence to be himself that he enjoys.
😂
As you can imagine...
We..are..normal! And We Want Our ..Freedom!😊
reminds me of wkuk baked beans!
Rutland Weekend Television - Being Normal 0412am 2.10.23 fawkin hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no wonder... i have lack of awareness re: hispanic doctors.
Remember the time that Horace Panter & David Steele swapped places when The Specials & The Beat appeared on the same Top Of The Pops ? Great memories!
Comedy has exceeded its prescribed societal function when it causes my octogenarian bones to sprint to the loo to pee from laughing, and barely maintain my aim at that. I'm back now, ready for battle and praying to the gods who didn't make me that I will survive the rest of these links which I missed when they came out or I would have died laughing those long decades ago.
I am normal and I want my freedom!
When those boxes of magnetic words were popular in the early aughts or so, I'd string random words together on display boards in shops where they were sold, and "browse" close by to watch people read what I'd left there. I mostly saw people shake their heads, but one guy read what I'd "written," walked away, then circled around to where I was standing, and whispered, "I read what you wrote over there with the magnet words. You're a Monty Python fan, aren't you?" I smiled up at him, and he asked me if I'd go have a pizza with him (the pizza place was the best place to eat in the food court at that mall), and I accepted. It wasn't true love forever, but Stephen and I shared some lovely times for a few months. I hope you're well, Stephen, where ever you are.
how did they pack this much funny into 2 minutes and 44 seconds?
It is very hard to write this without using some words that aren't actually random. Our minds are just made to follow logical patterns.

Sadly art imitates life the losing my virginity happened just like this here I was a 13 year old boy and the c**t was the geography teacher. After my life fell off a cliff I had him arrested 40 years later just as he retired as the headmaster of a Roman Catholic primary school . The cps declined to prosecute because it was his word against mine. I wonder how many children's lives he destroyed. I had to exercise great restraint from not visiting him with a sledge hammer when the fog of 40 years drug addiction lifted.
