10X your tool storage with this one simple build

It seems every garage has one (or more) of those common metal tool chests. You know the ones. The kind with those tiny, shallow drawers… good enough for a few pencils, and maybe a wrench or two, but that’s about it. We know the score - those drawers were never designed for woodworkers! We need BIG drawers, for BIG tools. So let’s fix that! In this video, I show you how to customize that store-b...

That was awesome strut guitar!
@@FranktheDachshund I am the Jimi Hendrix of struts 🎸 🔥
You can attach a support or two to the bottom for the material to rest on while you cut.
I did that in the follow-up video here: ruclips.net/video/aZWcFabXnGk/видео.html
GREAT idea! Love it.
Glad you liked it! 💪
Wait until the blower wheel gets clogged up. You'll have to uninstall the whole thing, take it completely apart. You'll need a recovery machine and a vacuum pump.
@@Bryan-Hensley why would that happen?
@BustedKnuckleWoodworks dust, smoke, paint vapors, sheetrock dust is horrible, ect. Those filters don't filter very well.
You have a New Subscriber. I like your ideas and presentation.
Awesome, thank you!
I know you didn't recommend the pvc pad, i did that with a fauc concrete pad, with a 4 unit MR cool unit (4 9k's) so much bigger outside then the single and it's been fine for 3 years now. I leveled it with dirt, pounded down, i don't think I would recommend putting it on mulch like in your video, then used tapcons to secure unit to it. Since the unit is so heavy it's not going anywhere, and I get wind off the river next to my house like you wouldn't believe, broken 3 screen doors cause of it, and it hasn't moved. I couldn't do the wall thing cause of the location, i needed to be away from my house a bit, like 2 feet, and maybe i should have done a concrete pad, but I just wanted to install it and tbh it was cheaper than the concrete cost at least for me at the time. Just putting my 2 cents incase anyone is worried cause they already purchased the pad.
@@dardack It sounds like you did it the right way. I’ve just seen people use those very light plastic ones and not level or secure them properly.
Hi , just wondering if a couple of pieces on the underside of each fence that you could turn 90° to support the workpiece and catch the offcuts, would it be strong enough?
You can see how I solved that in the follow up video here: ruclips.net/video/aZWcFabXnGk/видео.html
I like your style sir. Great idea and I will be following you.
Glad to have you aboard!
👍👍👍
Yeah baby 💪
New subscriber here!…,love the videos you put out…very easy to follow & you have a great sense of humour…😁…perfect timing that I came across your panel glue up options…my wood is almost ready for this step…so thanks!..👍
Welcome aboard! I'm glad you like my style.
Too many people now days get hung up on semantics instead of the message. So glad I found your channel. THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME A TON OF MONEY!!!
I agree! It's about getting the job done. 🙂
Love your humor and unique video skills
Thanks 🙏
genius
Aww shucks ☺️
Are you still happy with the C Flux 1? Would you have considered the P Flux 1?
Very happy. Suits my needs perfectly!

Great Idea. Thanks
You are welcome!
Valid and useful information combined with a slightly demented (in a good way) sense of humor and killer delivery. Now this is what I’m looking for , useful information and having a great time learning it!!! Thanks dude!!!
Liked and subbed 👍
That's high praise! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the awesome solution
You're welcome! Glad you found it helpful.
Lee .. just made 2 thank you . I need one more clamp to make 2 more . let you know how they work.
Glad to hear it! I look forward to hearing how they work out.
Not sure if this should scare Festool. When you add upp all the accesories so you Jessem jig can do the same as a Festool, the price difference isn't that big anymore. It's great that there's a cheaper alternative, but it looks kinda cumbersome and the two handed operation looks a bit complicated. About $500 for the Jessem with all the accesories + a couple of hundred bucks for a quality drill.. I would much rather see a jig incorporated into a palm router, that seems much more sensible to me.
A lot has changed since this came out. JessEm has now licensed the patent to Kreg, which has just released a much cheaper (although arguably not as well constructed) version of its own. Same mills, same accessories, etc. I suspect once JessEm sells out of remaining inventory this will quietly disappear from their catalog.
@@BustedKnuckleWoodworks Yes I saw a review of that and honestly the Jessem version looks a million times better. One thing is for sure Jessem products are really well built.
I am eager to do this for my miter saw. What a great idea!
Go for it! It really is a great alternative.
Love this simple idea... YES, I will be building my own. P.S.: Iwill also be extending this idea to my drill press table. Thank you.
Glad to hear it! That's a great idea to try it out with a drill press too!
Poor shop cat, lol. Great video, I'm downloading that app now.
It’s funny I found your video I was actually looking for another video where someone instead of just sing them as cauls turned them into 4 way pressure clamps just like the rocklers you showed
Maybe this is the video you were looking for? ruclips.net/video/KoCJ4V_ySmM/видео.html
My applause!
🙇♂️
“Planet of the Apps” 😂 This looks like a good one.
I see what you did there 😆
I like the idea and will try it out. One question I have is for insurance purposes. Anyway to print everything out in case you need to file an insurance claim like if my shop were to burn to the ground.
@@lanegustafson929 yes, you can print stuff and and there’s even an option to export your entire inventory.
Very cool ideas!
Thanks for watching!
Great idea. Thanksk for the tip and the humour! LOL.
I try my best! 😁
Awesome tip. Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful!
By far this is the best panel glueup afordable idea! thanks for the tip! It could even replace expensive 4 way clamps in my shop.
I agree! It's a game-changer.
Been using UNISTRUT for years and it never dawn to me to use as a clamp.
You must to patent it!!!😊
Great stuff, Lee! I love how you work through and explain all the problems and potential solutions. Subscribed!
Glad you liked the explanation!
2:53 Two rubberbands would solve this dilemma, but I'm down with the unistrut concept 👍
Hi Lee, thanks for the idea! I am new to woodworking, and was also thinking about alternatives to building a full miter station. I may try your idea; if I do, I will let you know!
Go for it! It definitely helps
I love it. Just what I need for my shop. I will make one.
Go for it!
So good !
Glad you think so!
Hi . Lee . thank you for the video .. my router just arrived today. .
Awesome! Hope you love it!
It means the strength is strong!
7:03 Honestly, you could just put a 3/4 inch piece of wood where the strut touches the workpiece, if one fears marks on the workpiece.
That is certainly an option.
This guy is great! I wish he was my old man
@@kevinarce7822 I’m open to adoption 😂
you can substitute dominos with it too !
Pretty expensive though
Call don’t need to be on the glue for more than 30 minutes. so mine never stick.. to simple is the simple..
Okay
Hard NO on the angle grinder. And if you have to use one, full face shield and keep your head out of the line of fire. The material doesnt look to be clamped well nor supported properly. Asking for a kickback when the blade pinches. An angle grinder wants to maim or kill you. It's the honey badger of metal working. There is nothing cavalier about using one. Thumb down on this video.
@@rjohnson5120 Should have stuck with the hacksaw 🤷🏻♂️
Very good. I saved it and most importantly thanks are links to get the blue tracks. That's what I need
You're welcome! Glad the links helped.
Well :) this method works if you have the quick install pipes (vacuumed pipes and quick connects), otherwise you have some extra steps.
That is true. Since this video was sponsored by Mr. Cool, fortunately that wasn’t a problem!
This video and suggestions are great. I'm pretty sure that you had a follow up that added so many good ideas, so you came up with and some your viewers did. I can't find that video. Will you please send me a link to it? I'm just about to build a new cart for my mitre saw, and want to add this as part of the fold up wings, with some of the additions in your follow up video. As I recall, someone had come up with a way to register the fence so you can add a tape measure and it would always be correct. Much appreciated.
My pleasure sir! ruclips.net/video/aZWcFabXnGk/видео.html
I love your storytelling thanks❤
I try my best! 😊
I'm not much of a woodworker but subscribing anyway as your helping people who want to do stuff but don't have unlimited funds (like me, retired with 'too many hobbies ' as a friend once said) Actually, it's more like too many interests, I can't afford any of them 😁
That’s the fun of retirement - you get way busier than when you were working lol
