But what can you do? Can you be a doctor, lawyer, mathematician? Are you any good at science math or computers? Can you help solve cancer, global warming, the current and next pandemic, the polarized political state in the world? It doesn't sound like it. Too much self promotion and not enough preparation for the real world.

Congrat! If you dont mind me asking how did you ask a stanford professor for an internship? Like how did you go about emailing them, what was the internshi about, and how do you secure an intership without any experience?

The best thing to do is to visit Stanford first, in addition to its ProFro weekend, and get a feel of the classes, the students, and the overall environment before deciding to go there. This advice applies to any college, really.

I got Brown and Stanford (for graduate school) and took Stanford.

Is there any evidence that these hates you mention - e.g., flake culture and duck syndrome - are unique (or even highly accentuated) at Stanford? I suspect that these social dynamics are in play to a high degree in society writ large and would be noticeable at other elite universities. (Stanford, MA, 1981)
