    I've had my '23 Pro for two weeks and already miss the trip planner, although it was starting to be hit or miss. I'm planning to pull a 16' box trailer to MS from SE CO in three weeks and now having trouble finding stations that can get me from Lamar into the Oklahoma panhandle. What's everyone using for maps/stations? It's hard to believe that Plugshare is the favorite as the website is super wonky.

      Yeah PlugShare is my go to for double checking things, but I will start out with Apple Maps, Electrify America, and Tesla since I now have my adapter. I like PlugShare though because you can sort by only showing fast chargers. Also users will say if something is down.

    I don’t know why they always mess with what works, this app is junk, whoever had this idea should be fired, there was nothing wrong with the old app that minor tweaking would not have fixed. Also, I’m having a difficult time with hands free apple CarPlay, since the update it’s no longer wireless. There are some of the software kinks that Ford needs to get their heads wrapped around, as this is pretty idiotic. You should be able to set a max charge limit to 80% all the time. I can do this on a $50 epever charge controller.

    Hi Mike. New subscriber. I’ve watched more than a few of your videos. This one made me have to comment. I’ve been complaining about Fords app for a while. I’m 15k miles into my ‘23 XLT SR. I had a fender bender and my truck was in the shop for a month. I had a new Toyota Highlander rental. Their app would tell you if a window, door or moonroof was open. It would tell you if the vehicle was locked or unlocked. Fords app makes you lock an already locked vehicle if you can’t remember if you locked it. Stupid simple things Ford could have given us. BTW. We just got my wife a Tesla Model Y. Needless to say that app kicks Fords apps ass. I’m barely impressed with this update. Barely. It’s an iota better. Somewhat. Just meh. Will they EVER be able to compete in the EV space?

    • @F150LightningMike
      @F150LightningMike 2 дня назад

      Thanks for watching Paul. Yeah I have not been impressed with Ford’s apps yet either the old one or the new one. I also have the Toyota app because my wife has a Sienna and really like that app. They also just updated theirs and it is even better. I haven’t played with the Tesla app much except when renting it, so I can’t say yes or no on that one right now. All of that to say thank you for your comment. You make some good points, and you are preaching to the choir here.

Took to Ford dealer and they said there was a recall on the battery . A small fix and They told me a software update only they can do . Ok got truck back, found the heater didn't heat up as strong but still worked ok . Before if i charged to 100 % range would be 320-324. Now it's 363 and it's real I checked several times Driving 45 to 55 doing a 100 miles or so each time . Using 1 pedal driving running AC showing a 2.8 - 2.9 KW use . Yeah I would. It’s seems that only a few Ford dealers truly know how to work on EVs. Your 1st maintenance should be at 10k. Also, they only need to rotate tires and do a 25 point inspection. So it should not cost very much and not take very long. The only exception is if you talk to them about recalls. They may not know how long it will take to do those. Even still I would probably find another Ford dealer.

      @@crspeedautoreviews-yw2iq I've been about to get 2.3-2.6 mi/kw for the non-highway trips in ideal conditions, but personally never tried to hyper mile it. Base battery is 98kw, so maybe spring for the extended range battery. Honestly that's our buyer's remorse, not getting the extended range. Our base XLT gets us everywhere we NEED to go comfortably, but gotta charge on longer trips over 200mi. Not terrible, but we would prefer to always charge at home ;)

      Awesome … yeah I love my lariat trim too! If you haven’t seen my other videos about sport mode and pro power onboard you should try it and see if it helps your range. Turn off pro power onboard and use sport mode.

    Hi Mike. Nice vid. I did my 10k mile checkup/service on my 2022 XLT Lightning last year. My local dealer charged me $90 to do all of the things you mentioned, but they also replaced my wiper blades and rotated my tires. I think you have a nice dealership in your area where they provide this checkup as a complementary service.

    • @F150LightningMike
      @F150LightningMike 6 дней назад

      That seems a bit much for wiper blades and a tire rotation. Although maybe not. My wipers were about $74 from Autozone.

    This was one of the best pro tips. I’ve heard in a long time. It would suck to get 37,000 miles get something checked and it’s not covered. That’s a great great great tip.

    Hi Mike. I’ve been watching your vids for a while now. Very informative. Thanks! One thing about Sport mode vs. Normal + 1PD. I’ve owned my 2022 Lightning XLT for 20 months now. During my first 12 months, I exclusively used Sport mode without 1 pedal driving and got 2.3 mi/kWh on 10,000 miles driven. After the first year, I then switched to Normal + 1 pedal driving because it was getting a bit annoying to remember to click on the OK button to retain Sport mode. So far in the first 8 months of normal + 1PD, I’ve averaged 2.3 mi/kWh (the same as sport mode) over 7,300 miles driven. I am expecting this average to go higher perhaps 2.4 over the summer months of June, July, August and September. I’ve gotten used to the 1 pedal driving, but like you, I prefer the plain Sport mode. I’m hoping Ford will provide a software update soon to retain the Sport mode setting in between vehicle restarts.

      Thank you for watching. I’m happy that sport mode worked for you, and I agree it would be nice not to have to remember to push ok. I’m interested to hear what 1 pedal normal does for you. Summer should be better. I’m planning to do a couple more tests with it too in the summer. 1) only highway & 2) only in town. I’m guessing if I’m doing all highway with cruise control on it won’t matter that much. Just curious too, what state do you live in?

    Mike a you dial up or down how much regen in one pedal drive you get? Like 1-5?

    • @F150LightningMike
      @F150LightningMike 9 дней назад

      I can’t control the amount of regen. Except through putting it in sport mode which is about half the amount of 1-pedal drive which doesn’t matter when you are coming up on a stop light. Because once you apply the brake pedal it will use more based on how hard you press the pedal. If you press it too hard though you will use the brake pads, hence the reason for “brake coach”

      @@F150LightningMike excellent Mike thank you so much. I’m loving your videos and I’m getting more and more excited about buying hours. It seems like you can basically control it using the brake pedal itself, and the friction breaks only come to play when you push it more aggressively or when you get to the end of the region paddle travel.

    Great video. Just FYI, Break Coaching is measuring braking down to approximately 5 mph. After that, the friction brakes are used for completely stopping and holding the vehicle. You’ll notice you’ll get your grading on braking right at 5 mph. Then after awhile you’ll be so intoned with it, you’ll feel the blending:). This is also a benefit that will keep your rotors ‘clean’. Good way to get them dry after a car wash or help prevent rusting on the rotors.

    Vid Topic Sugestions: - Real simple to figure out how much it costs to charge at home. Just use Ford Pass to get the kwh on your latest charge, then multiply by your utility rate. - Get a pretty good estimate of how far you can tow just by multiplying the size of your battery by the efficiency. For example 131 x 0.9 (for a big camper) = 117.9 miles. Not too much more complicated than mpg.
