My first trip there changed my life....literally. I wrote an award winning book about my experience...even though I never intended to become an author. BUT Africa changes you....and speaks to your heart in a way that is impossible to put into words...although I did try!

I was really moved by your emotional reaction to the elephants near the hide. This resonates very much with me. No matter how many hundreds I have seen and how often, they always have an impact on me. The most special moment was being surrounded by them at night in our open truck. A full moon shining its silvery light onto us and the rumbling and sniffing and chewing and their smell was all around us. A youngster hit our bull bar softly with his tusk - he was apparently so amazed what sounds he‘s able to produce, so he tried it several times more. Were it it tears of laughter or joy or overwhelming emotions in my eyes? I think it was all of that. Thank you for your wonderful video, Byron!

Fantastic video. Got plenty of time and money but, alas, left it too late to visit Africa. I doubt any lodge or guide would welcome a couple in their late 60's. Thanks for the insight.

Hello from India! Beautifully made video. I am an avid watcher of your videos. Mana pools is one special place. I have been lucky to visit Mana twice, once in 2016 and then in 2019. However, both times I stayed in few of the private camps in the park. I am not brave enough to do self camping, yet! The memories from both trips are special and still fresh in my mind. Watching Boswell doing his trick, trying to catch up (actually running) with the wild dogs as they chased and killed a kudu calf, watching a herd of buffaloes coming down to drink at Chitake Springs, their thundering hooves raising clouds of dust in the air, lions drinking from the spring late in the evening and their roars reverberating at night while lying in my tent, are memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for virtually taking me to this special place, for I don't know when I can visit again.
