We visit Kruger as aften as we can - at least twice every year. So sitting in my lounge on a rainy Saturday afternoon is like visiting happy memories with you. So lovely.
New to your channel….Found you through your Marakele video… Really enjoying the videos…Man, that looks like a Side striped Jackal….wow…bucket list sighting….you are 100% correct…screw the apps and sightings boards….it is all about ‘intersections’ , that anxiety of “did we go the right way?” Is all part of it…. Sometimes sitting and waiting is the best…. Being car no 74 on a lion sighting is of no interest to us…rather be alone watching the ground squirrels fighting…or getting to see the SSJ or a martial being dive bombed….. Some days you come back having seen “nothing” and exhausted….but realise there is no bad day in a park…as you light the fire and the night noises start Thanks a stack…
Welcome to the channel! Thanks so much. we definitely think in a similar way by the sounds of things… I actually happen to be in Marakele again right now and sightings have been a real struggle so far, so thanks for the timely reminder that there is no such thing as a bad day in the bush👌🏼
Simply Brilliant, Quality footage and storytelling with the most beautiful music throughout the video, top notch!! Thanks for sharing your journeys it is absolutely amazing.
What a brilliant episode! Your cinematography and mix of music and natural sounds is top notch. You really showed what makes this SW corner of Kruger so special….great predator sightings, rhino, loads of Ellie’s, the hyena den just south of Afsaal, beautiful scenery, Biyamiti Weir, and Afsaal picnic spot…..what more could you ask for.
Why is your channel only popping up on my feed now?! Your work is absolutely brilliant Byron! (And you do it solo it seems - no easy task!). Subbed immediately, and can't wait to watch and enjoy more episodes over time. Thank you, and keep up the great work.👌🏻🐾
What a great video. So glad I subscribed to your channel. You are incredibly blessed to capture the ground hornbills calling out - that for me is the most peaceful calling in the bush. Unfortunately all of the meat in the park is shady, I caught travelers bug from the parks butchery meat in Punda and was bed ridden for a week. I stock up at The Good Meat & Deli in Parkmore, JHB. They're amazing and cut my meat especially for traveling. They also individually vacuum seal everything according to your storage. If you don't have a fridge freezer for the Fortuner, the Coleman 5 day cooler box works perfectly for vacuum sealed meat. It's about R1500, but you're welcome to borrow mine to test it out before buying one. Worked for me on a one week stay at Maroela before I got my National Luna Fridge/Freezer. Looking forward to more videos!
Thanks so much, Mallo. I was so lucky with birds in general on this trip! I definitely think I’ll be stocking up with meat on future trips and I’ll have a look at that cooler. Thanks for the suggestions, hoping to slowly build up to having something in the fortuner along with a rooftop tent etc one day… thanks for subscribing and watching, I really appreciate it!
We are going to kruger this friday well we wont be staying in the kruger but we gonna stay at ngwenya and go into the park every 2nd day and im very excited. I bought a 650D camera a few months ago and bought a 70-200 mark 1 lens so i hope i can get some good pics with that but atleast i got a 75-300 lens aswell. But i love the vids and i can see that you put alot of work into them you deserve like 1m subs.. cant believe you only got 3k
That’s awesome, such a great time of year for a Kruger visit. I’m sure you’re gonna see plenty and get some great pics as well.. Thanks so much for the kind words, happy to have you here!
Thank you for This great Video. We Are so happy We Found your Channel. so we increase our antissipation (happyness before Journey) to Our Trip in November. It’s great to see some Places We Already know and you have absolutely great Videos. Could you Tell Us which Camera do you, use or which you can recommend? Maybe we still Need to buy one. We are looking forward your next videos.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos! I use the Canon R6, it’s great for both photography and videography.. most entry level mirrorless cameras would do a great job 👍🏼
Very well made video, well done! Really enjoyed it and like the natural approach... sometimes it is just so much better to find your own sightings as you are most of the time then alone with it! 🙂
Incredible sightings, and camera work is fantastic. Really enjoy your content, and super happy I have come across your channel. Heading that way in Jan, and I cannot wait! Thanks Byron.
Love it, amazing footage and love how u put it together 💯. Great sightings - love the 2 leopards and lion chase. Quick Q is your tent the pop up & blackout one from Decathlon, whats your thoughts on it?
Thanks Nachi, appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching 🙏🏼 yes, it is the Quechua one from Decathlon. I’ve found it to be perfect for me and it really is quick and easy to set up and pack away. 2 people would be a bit of a squeeze though
Absolutely awesome Byron The quality of videos you post is some of the best on RUclips You realy make the viewer feel part of the journey I loved your insight in to the sightings apps, there is nothing worse than seeing you just missed a big cat sighting so definitely going to give your advise a go even though I have been told this many times before😂 Great work on the patience with the leopard, nothing like your intuition paying off in the bush🔥
Hey Christiaan, thanks so much! 🙏🏼 awesome, definitely give it a go I’m sure you’ll find everything to be much more enjoyable 💯 Only waited about 30 mins for that leopard luckily.. quick sighting but worth it for sure! Have a good one and thanks for watching
What an Amazing video, your camera work is so great. When I see your videos I long to return to Africa more and more. May I ask what camera equipment you use?
I'm searching for the bird species calling in the background at 2.45min into the video. I have the same call here in Westville, but haven't been able to ID it. Thank you.

The filming of the hyena & her two cubs is quite remarkable.
It feels like you were sitting with them to get that footage.

I'm now looking for the Canon R6 or R7 with the Sigma 60-600mm, then I don't have to change lenses

Hi there comments can someone tell me if I should go to crocodile river or malelane
Hi there, I don’t think you can go wrong with either and both areas are great for all kinds of game viewing etc, but I personally prefer Malelane…
I'm searching for the bird species calling in the background at 2.45min into the video. I have the same call here in Westville, but haven't been able to ID it. Thank you.
The bird in the background there is an African Scops Owl. Such a beautiful owl to have around! (and tough to spot)
I thought so, thank you. I will try and get a sighting.
Not much here not to like. Had to subscribe🔔
Thanks so much JD and welcome to the journey 👊🏼
