Car Revival
Добавлен 4 июл 2012
Hi, i'm Pep
I'm only happy when I have a spanner in one hand and a cuppa in the other!
I get great satisfaction from repairing and restoring all cars, old and new. Admittingly I prefer the retro stuff but I'm just as happy working on anything with 4 wheels.
I hope my videos give people at home the confidence they need to work on their own cars.
I'm a petrol head at heart and look forward to my weekends when I get the opportunity to go out for a blast in my weapon of choice!
Be Excellent To Each Other!

CRASH DAMAGED FIESTA! ***DETAILED SALVAGE from START TO FINISH***
This one was too good to lose! So glad we were able to put this one back on the road.
Made this video a little longer with less sped up scenes in the hopes that some people may enjoy learning a little about these cars and the types of repairs that come with accident damaged vehicles.

Wasn't sold on this one. Thought it was a bit too rough. But wow! Totally convinced me now that no matter the car, with a bit of care and passion anything can be achieved! Don't really want to sell it!!! Massive thank you to Dave from (Salvage & Classics) for helping me with this one. He's a top bloke and he's had my back all the way. Final part of the revival of this Ford Fiesta Titanium Note: Just have little touch ups left (parking sensors etc) and MOT but for the most part she is done.

Cheap, easy way to treat your vehicles underside AND other internal/external parts where water and salt could attack your car!
*DINITROL* DIY Under Car Rust Prevention TUTORIAL
Просмотров 11 тыс.2 года назад
Leave car stood for a few hours for Dinitrol to stop dripping and dry off a little. Preferably overnight. I know it won't be as easy on axle stands but it can be done! If your car isn't yet at the stage where it's too late then i strongly recommend you carry out this treatment. You can also do your doors, bonnet and boot etc with this fluid.

Haven't heard this beautiful sound in a while as other projects have taken precedent. Was long overdue a warm up and tick over run. Sounds a bit tappy at the top so going to look into this when i get time.

Vauxhall Nova GTE Restoration
Просмотров 5 тыс.3 года назад
Special thanks to Paul G (master technician) Phil and Diesel (PDA Fabrications) - John M (shoulder to cry on) Dave Fox (Car Guru and professional transport) WITHOUT YOU BOYS THE CAR WOULD STILL BE SWISS CHEESE! Calypso Red Metallic Nova GTE fully restored Car was complete when it arrived however it was hiding alot of 'problems'. There was no way we were going to re-chassis such a special car so...
I bought the same one, blows oil that's all it does
I used 2 tins on my 71 Transit and was really impressed with the way the wax ran into the joints then dried to a residue which hasn't washed off, it was esspecially good on the front upper inner wings and the cills under the front doors..
@@keithm6117 I can’t understand why people jump to simple off the shelf products in your local Halfords. I agree this is far superior and fit for purpose. And it doesn’t cost much more! By the way kudos on the 71 Transit, I would love to have an older shape original Transit. You just don’t see them anymore.
Hi. Thanks for the informative video. My Lexus is badly rusty underneath. I'm thinking of scraping down and then going with Jenolite rust converter spray. But then either Bilt Hamber SC50, or there's a newer product Bilt Hamber Electrox. Which one would you reckon?
Hi Simon. You’re welcome. I would say Definitely S50 over Electrox as the latter would be better on a restored surface which is completely free of corrosion. S50 will cover existing rust (converted of course as would be better in the long run) and heal itself if compromised. Also you’ll get some cavity protection with S50. Also Bilt Hamber do a rust converter which i’ve used and it’s pretty much the same as Kurust 🤙
bro look at the haze, protect your lungs!
how much are you using per car, am wanting to do my Peugeot 205 gti so not very big?
Honestly i reckon 1 tin will do it BUT i would buy 2 just to make sure. You can do inside your doors, your boot and bonnet aswell but be careful with the stuff dripping out. I did my doors and i left them open overnight in the garage
Way better then Lanoshite. UC and SC50 are dope! 💥
Tidy , how could anyone find this funny ? Beautiful car
Thank you so much Trev really appreciate it!
itchy nose with the gloves on - always happens! Nice work - thanks
I tested mine i didn’t hold in the smoke detector and it blowed off that means i have lo leak?
Troubleshooting a po302 cylinder 2 misfire on my 2006 subaru sti. Pita did a compression and leakdown test no issues with engine. Gonna redo smoke test
Rust never sleeps
Do you have to apply Rust Converter first? Or can you just clean the rust with brush and spray away?
If there is rust already there, i would always advise grind back, rust convert, re-paint and then treat. BUT i’m a realist, if you’re just trying to prevent further rust but don’t want to do a full restoration/repair then yes rust convert first. I’d at least spray some primer over the affected area first though maybe?
Oooowwwwe she's a beauty mucker ❤ hope your proud of yourself well done 👏
Looks really smart....Nova Gte my all time fave...Brings back memories wish I still had mine.... Digital Dash would be a good mod
Did this today on my '99 Corsa B, after watching this video. One recommendation from me would be to not use the straw they provide, this gives a much finer spray and doesn't waste so much product. Apparently, it works better to build up fine coats, as opposed to one heavy one. I also used Dynax S50 with a long straw to do inside the chassis legs.
Tennants, carlings for ladies 😂
His the uc holding up
Spot on still a good thick coat. Haven’t used car in wet much so i’m guessing this helps. Really happy with it
Fantastic
Thanks man 🤙
Did my rear wheel arches after removing liners on my 2005 Saab Aero convertible - lucky to be able to use a lift - rest of car is waxoyled - used their other cavity wax to to doors and inside sills as it comes with long lance - impressive stuff 👌
And you would do this treatment every when year?
Yes if you can but i’ve seen it last longer so could go every 2 years. Depends on how often you use the vehicle.
Would you use the same stuff for all the arches aswell, clean all the dirt of ect and apply? Thanks for the advice you gave yourself a new subscriber
@@blade8768 thanks bud really appreciate it. Yeh i’ve just re-applied on my other car and i cleaned all the old coating (and dirt) off and started again. I did all the tubs and even the shockers/springs aswell (can’t hurt to coat everything to be fair)
@@carrevival8200 how did you go about cleaning the old coating that was applied off? Is it a messy job or does it comes off ok
@@blade8768 no not that messy mate. Just used some old (clean) rags and brake cleaner or degreaser. Comes off really easy. Wipe it all off and make sure everything is clean and re-apply. Really easy mate.
Best colour in this model.
Dinitrol ML or which exact spray, please ? Thank you
Yes Dintrol ML with a long straw spray attachment. At the end of the straw is a nozzle which sprays 360•
shit just grab a lit cigarette and stick the end in one of the hoses and start her up
jk
is the baby oil smoke very sticky ?
this was a great informative video that was quick to the point and also still entertaining, keep it up mate!
Where are you based would you be willing to take a private client on I've been chasing my tail on a 2L diesel Ford Focus
Looks amazing dude 👍
Looks stunning. calypso red? All time favourite car. Stupidly sold mine last year so on restoring a saloon now.
Thanks Barry. Yes i had to have this colour as it’s the colour i first saw a GTE in when i was a lad and it stuck with me. Hope the Saloon restoration is going well i’m sure it will be a lovely car when done as they don’t make them like this anymore. Time warp cars !
Erm.
Just found your video on my feed. Absolutely brilliant ! You’ve got a new subscriber
Thank you very much Jamil i really appreciate the subscribe and the compliment. Pep
Absolutely stunning job you should be very proud of your achievement👍👍👍
Thank you so much Diarmaid. Yes it was a journey but so worth it! Honestly didn’t think i’d see it through to the end but glad i did
Ooooo it well run in for eco boom be fucked other 10 thousand miles
Well done for for your second attempt for painting. On them new parts bumper and wing wet on wet primer it will lay down really flat . Also I have learned to use a flex additive in my paint on plastic to stop cracking if it gets into a knock again. But overall good job . It’s all about learning and doing the best job you can and improving . Check out Brian on paint society he helped me improve my painting and he explains the stages in depth ( wet on wet primer in American is called sealer)
Hi Simon. Can i just say thank you for giving advice without being offensive. It’s nice to see people giving their experience in a constructive and approachable manner rather than just dishing out abusive comments. I’ve been watching Tony’s Refinishing but i have on your recommendation watched quite a few of Brians videos already (particularly on his bumper/plastic paint jobs) He’s really good at explaining everything and somehow makes me feel more confident about taking on the different stages. Absolutely bang on regarding Flex additive. I’m popping in to the paint shop this week and picking some up. Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated and respected considering you’ve been where i am now. I’d sooner listen to someone with experience rather than make mistakes because i’m too set in my way. Also thank you for the compliment as well really appreciate it buddy. Pep
Hi pep Yea I like Tony’s refinishing learn a lot there. Like you I enjoy doing salvage cars and the satisfaction you get when it’s completed. We all make mistakes when we are learning and we learn from the mistakes we make and how to fix them . I’m sure you will grow more confident and challenge your self into more difficult repairs. You have a great work space and you will collect the tools you need to do the job as you go along. 👍
like your channel you seem to talk very fast and seem to rushing your narrative!!
Thanks Mark i genuinely appreciate the criticism as i have noticed this myself and need to action it. Apologies for this. I can only put it down to the fact i’m really nervous. I will make sure to take notice of this in future videos as you’re absolutely right. My Mum watched this video and said exactly the same as you!
@@carrevival8200 you do not need to apologise confidence will come from experience. good luck with your channel and regards to your mum!
New subscriber and enjoyed the video will be going back on your back catalogue.
Thank you Alan i really appreciate the subscribe and compliment thank you.
@@carrevival8200 that’s a cracking fiesta you’ve turned out ( gold )
So was the original strut damaged when compared to the new one?
I honestly couldn’t tell but the car still didn’t seem to sit right after replacing it so i changed the hub carrier and hub as well to avoid any risk. Could be that it wasn’t damaged but i left it on anyway just in case the original was slightly damaged.
Payed way to much for that
cant have done if hes sold it and made £1600 profit
@@dave280585 Paid way too much for it when I get home from Copart for £1000
@@JasonSmith-oc8ov your getting mint, mk7.5 autos home for a £1000? ive been doing salvage from all the top salvage companies for 15 years and by the sounds i need to use what depot you use, you might get a pre facelift high mileage manual for that, watched synetiq today and £650 plus feed for a damaged 09 plete with 114k, you cant compare a mint low mileage auto as they arent the same car, he made £1600 profit on it is that not enough? it sold within first week and was the cheapest on ebay by £500
do you ever buy used panels in colour or isnt it worth it?
Hi Julian. I bought a genuine colour match wing for the Qashqai (other video) because it was available and the car didn’t need any other paint so was worth paying extra for the wing rather than buying an unpainted one that’s cheaper and painting it. If the car needs paint in other places then i just buy unpainted replacement panels and paint them as i can warrant buying the paint etc if that makes sense. It always works out cheaper to buy new unpainted panels if you have other parts of the car to paint. Also it’s hard to find undamaged panels in the correct colour sometimes.
I like the way you don’t mess about with car safety. Change the lower arm because there is slight play 👍👍
Thanks buddy. Yeh i worry that anything you cut corners on or try to bodge will have a potential devastating impact on future owner. Not worth the risk. Do it right do it once, do the best job you can is how i was always taught.
I spent many years doing cars, Motorcycles mainly & campervans. Motorhog & Copart. Retired now . But a great video. Keep it up. By the way the price is about right . Subbed to your channel. Regards. Steve.
Hi Steve. Thank you for the compliment. It’s nice to have someone here with your experience as i have no doubt along the way that i might make the odd mistake and need some advice! Not as easy as it looks this trade but so rewarding to put good cars back on the road to be enjoyed by someone in need of them. Wasn’t sure about the price. I honestly thought it was correct myself at first but because of the way things are at the minute, i’ve had to reduce it. Could partially be down to it’s a limited audience with it being an Auto as well. Thanks for the Subscribe really appreciate it. Will keep the content coming. Just trying to cherry pick another project atm. Taking my time but pays off to end up with something nice that will sell easier than a rough one. Thanks again. Pep
Great colour match as that would normally be a nightmare to get right. Love that colour btw.
Hi Charlie. Thanks buddy, yes I learnt my lesson from the last one and spent ages in the paint shop matching it up. I have also learnt that the colour can change depending on what air pressure you paint at AND how many coats of clear you put on can also affect the colour. My process now is to use spray out cards trying multiple pressures/coats etc to find the best method. I’m a fan of the colour as-well i think it suits the car.
Hi Do you not use a sealer on the bumper before spraying the top coat …
Hi, the bumpers come pre-primed. I spot prime if there’s any rub through but other than that they’re good to go.
New sub like all the detail & info in the vid, especially the wheel refurb🍿
Thank you Nai, really appreciate the compliment 🙂 Pep
New subscriber here - a really good presentation and really clear view of the repair process - look forward to the next one, plus going back through your previous vids. Cheers
Hi bud. Thanks very much for the compliments, massively appreciated! Will stick to the formula and keep them coming as quickly as possible. Thanks again. Pep
Hi. I'm new to your channel. Can I ask what are the makes of the spray guns you are using. Great content.
Hi Lawrence, thank you for the compliment 😊 Primer - Devilbiss FLG5 Base - Sagola 3300GTO Clear - Devilbiss Prolite with T110 (1.3) I am not sold on the Sagola so will be swapping it out for a Devilbiss DV1 fairly soon Hope this helps buddy. Pep
get yourself a proper tool for the drumsticks, well worth it
Thanks for the tip mate. I need to write a list and invest in more tools i’ll add that to it. I’m using a lot of Halfords Advance and Clarke atm but contemplating signing up with Snap On as that’s what my mate uses. Night and day compared to the tools i’m using!
Hi! Are you a northern lad!!
Yes buddy. Lincolnshire not far from Lincoln 👍
What a great channel and very tidy garage you have, you’ll soon be on 5-10k subs. The attention to detail you put into these cars will surely help them sell. Which salvage auction do you use? 😀
Hi Zac. Thanks so much for the compliments buddy really appreciate it 😊 I’ve been using IAA so far but i’m currently trying to expand my reach into Copart so i have more options when sourcing another one.
Pleased I have found this channel, excellent work and explanation as you go. Look forward to seeing your future videos.
Thank you very much. Really appreciate the nice comment. I’m currently sourcing my next project and will upload asap and keep to the current formula.
You always go above and beyond when prepping your cars its great to see mate. Keep it up
Thanks mate 😊
