Awsome work, nice to see such a lovingly restored example. I had one also on an F plate. It's interesting you went with steel wheels. Mine had the 3 spoke alloys from factory.
Hi Timothy appreciate the compliment thank you. Yes it came with the steel wheels when i bought it. I think alloys were an option on the GTE but standard on the GSi. I have now fitted some Astra 16" alloys as didn't like the look of the trims!
@@carrevival8200 have you considered the Courtney sport alloys that were popular at the time? You are correct the 3 spokes were an option, however if you sourced a set it would make it special as they are rare now 🙂
Cool secretly on the lookout for a white gte, Sr or gsi for the wife as we bought an sr for her back in 95 which I then put a gte front end on after a bump.
Absolutely stunning mate ! I served my time in these back in the day ! I’m 50 now and still love them ! How good to have the original Philips stereo too !! Do you still have the code ??😊well done
Hi Ross. Then you'll know why these cars are so special 😁 yes still got the code 🤣 first thing i did was write the code on the front of the folder i have with all my paperwork in 🤣
@@carrevival8200 amazing ! They got stolen so much back in the day when I worked on them ! I’ve had novas astras cavalier sris and calibras ! Tha bod for the reply mate 👍
@@rossmclaren71 I had 3 novas back in the day (none of them GTE) and every one of them got broke into 🤣 Your welcome mate. Also i forgot to say thank you for your kind comment so thank you really appreciate it 🙂
@@carrevival8200 I had 3 too lol. one of them was a GTE but I never got that one on the road. I had the 1.3SR and I loved it. Mine was broken into via the quarter light window on the drivers door. They told me that was the easiest way thieves got in.
That dealer sticker in the rear window. Byron Wynn Auto's. From my home town, car isn't a local reg nor do I recognise it. Stunning resto though, Calypso Red would have been my choice of GTE bitd, I ended up with a flame Red GSi instead.
A military chap bought it from them but didn't own it for long before it was sold to a lady in the Manchester area where it stayed until i bought it. Flame red was also a nice colour though I would have been happy with any colour tbf
I bought the car from Byron Wynn in April 1990 and owned it for 29 years, (i live in Street area) and then sold it to a garage in Lincolnshire in 2019 as I was finding it difficult to get it through MOTs.
Just Beautiful…… Perfect example of what hard work can achieve bro.
