Key Lime Endlers & Blue Dream Shrimp - Fish Rambling #2
This is my 10 gallon, the blue dream shrimp have lived here for two years with periodic culls from my main colony added to this tank. The Key Lime Endlers have only been here a few months. Before it was Purple Mosaic Guppies, and before that it was mixed guppies. I eventually oversold this tank and blue dream mutants and the colony is recharging. More videos soon!

Fish Rambling: Green Jade Shrimp & El Tigre Endlers
Просмотров 4123 месяца назад
Welcome to the 1st episode of my fish rambling series. I talk about whatever's on my mind and then I click publish. Let me know what you think! This tank has Green Jade Shrimp, Otto Catfish, Ramshorn Snails, El Tigre Endlers and Scuds all living together. I'm dancing a food balance here and eventually I'll have to take out the green shrimp if I want to walk that tight rope a little less. Does a...
Lose the Duckweed

How to get rid of duckweed. The challenge of the century. Here is a tutorial to show you my favorite way to defeat the immortal plant scourge itself: duckweed. This is not a title misdirect and I will not be telling you to "use a net" during this video (others should be sent to RUclips purgatory for saying that alone is a solution to duckweed in videos). My hands are calloused and my arms are s...
Summer Ricefish Ponds
Просмотров 11 тыс.9 месяцев назад
I bought a few ponds for my backyard, join me for the journey (Zone 9a). I've kept fish in buckets before, but never prolonged exposure to the outdoors. Through the sweltering heat I was able to spawn Blue Miyuki Medaka Ricefish, Daisy's Ricefish, Black/Midnight Medaka Ricefish and Medaka Koi Ricefish. The Purple Mosaic and Assorted Guppies also made their outdoor debut. I've gained a new under...
Backyard Frog Pool
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.10 месяцев назад
This wasn't intentional, and a new pond is cycling so they don't have to sit in plastic for the rest of summer. I use "mosquito bits," fish or water pumps to disrupt mosquito larvae. Once this was my daughter's wading pool, now a frog hatchery reclaimed by nature. It only took one rainy night for American Green Tree Frogs, Southern Toads, Cane Toads (which are invasive) Peeper Frogs, Common Gre...

Good morning fish keepers, check out these gladiator shelves I use for my aquariums. Forgive me for the cam audio on this one. I tried walking, talking and shooting video at the same time, it's like patting my head and rubbing my belly. Anyone have a shotgun mic suggestion? Is this a fish room tour? A rambling? An update? I haven't figure that out yet, I'll let y'all know when the correct light...

Here's my fish collection. Updates coming soon. brentonsfish.com/
😂😂😂😂
I like you, no homo
I use zoomed digital probe thermometers and they are pretty decent. Bucket pond, axolotl, and fish tank all have one.
I can't keep duckweed alive for the life of me. I think we should meet 1/2 way :)
I will mail you some
Were the shrimp singing? What do the other fish and snails sound like? At first it appeared the betta was talking.
So Cool Brenton😊 very interesting! Also I really love your set up and your humor 😂
ive got a weird funny problem with my shrimp, they eat fine, poop fine, molt and look brighter than when i got them, but they have not been procreating whatsoever. As if shrimp can be neutered. I think ill probably try giving them a different tank, maybe thatll change something my guppies in the other tanks though… i wish theyd stop… theyre healthy but i dont want any more and ive nowhere to trade them in
Calcium. GH and KH. The latter can be heightened with “Shrimp Minerals” which is a product from “SaltyShrimp.” I find myself giving them seachem equilibrium sometimes too. Make sure GH and KH in the range for neocaridina (I use all in one test strips). When KH is high, PH doesn’t move. Crushed coral works too. I used to give them calcium blocks specialized for shrimp but I found out I can rely on calcium powder from Amazon that’s for human consumption. They like ammonia and nitrite at 0. It always seems calcium is the main variable between my tanks. You can also supplement calcium liquid style with what fish keepers usually use for a saltwater tank for their coral but the calcium supplement powder is just so cheap.
Just dry it and feed it back to the fish
That’s a lot of labor brother, for about $3 worth of fish food.
No new episodes in 2 months 😭
Got one in 2 months and 8 days!
Cool. Very cool from your neighbor
Thanks Wei!
The rice fish bought me here and now I'm here forever I love you plz make more videos
Wow. I was informed & entertained. Doing this myself…I don’t have anything but lilies & a few water plants & snails & I’ve yet to get fish.
In zone 9a the guppies you have to bring inside for winter, their fins start shredding when the temps get down to the 50s but the ricefish can stay out there year round. I did find that while the fish keep the mosquito larvae down, the dragonfly larvae were bothersome (only because I'd observe the ponds very closely, I'm sure if a dropped and forgot I wouldn't of noticed.)
9:57 lol gold
He’s got pizzaz
I only have 10 gallons and smaller so it was nothing to pull out the HOB and skim every little leaf out. Now I have nothing but Salvinia minima and I love that plant. I dry amd grind up the overgrowth and turn it into gel food for my shrimp, snails, and kuhli loaches !
Water spangles is one of my strongest growers, indoors and out. I don’t know what it is that makes it grow so fast compared to other floaters but I should start selling it by the handfuls.
Scuds are arthropods (close but different) there are freshwater isopods, like asellus aquaticus. They are quite peaceful and are slower than shrimp.
I enjoy this so much! Amazing content, best wishes to you and your future projects! 🌻
The polarization in the community over duckweed 😂 Amazing content, best wishes to you and your future projects! 🌻
Top notch editing. Solid gold comedy! 😂🏅👍 Rooting for your success!

I live in pensacola too. Want to sell some fish?😊
Aww yeah. I’ve got some on my website but also blue star endlers and daisy’s ricefish.
I absolutely love your format lol subscribed❤
I find squeezing a cycled sponge into an uncycled tank, it will cycle it immediately. I've just set up a 25 litre quarantine tank with 8 three month old Odessa barbs using this method. Tested twice daily for 2 weeks and no issues. Ammonia and nitrite was always zero. 👍
These are awesome. I am going to set one up too
The dragonfly larvae bothered me a bit on one of these buckets. Maybe a net mesh on top?
Love your videos. Keep it up
Can eat it, feed it.....Look into Mankai Duckweed powder.
just feed to gold fish
Thanks god.
I don't even keep fish and I still found this video entertaining. Great stuff!
Have u played The Stanley Parable Brenton?
🤔
its almost as if tim taylor from tooltime decided to get rid of duckweed, using MORE POWER. what do we need? The Binford Aquarium Whirlpool Generator 3000
I’ve seen someone take a shop vac to duckweed.
You don't need air pumps. Remove some of the floaters so the egeria gets the sun. That will provide more than enough oxygen.
I was seriously expecting the credits to roll down at the end like I just finished watching a movie 🤣 keep up the good work
Thanks brother-man
"Clarice, do you hear the duckweed screaming" I am dying. You are too funny. Subscribed, and thumbs up
Likewise. 😂
What the heck did I just watch. I love it. Subscribed
Your specimens are zonal for sure
Love the content! I got tired of the pump game and ended up buying a $80 linear air pump on Amazon in a waterproof tote under my deck with an extension cord to power and installing 3/4” PVC for my airlines. Have way more airlines than I need but I love the ability to always expand especially with fry and grow out tubs constantly being setup.
omg this is hilarious man
super enjoyable video! you earned a new sub!
Very entertaining and informative.
I am your 970th sub. One day i wish you get 1k, and ill be here. Due to this video, duckweed in my tank shall not pass. Love this video, good editing.
I keep marginal pond plants in my tubs, no filtration at all. Most overwinter, even recently noticed a nice patch of java moss that overwintered. I hav
Thank you for warning us about duckweed! I found few in my tank which sneaked in with some other plants I bought two days ago. Picked them all out. 👍
Thank you fop warning me about duckweed! I found few in my tank which sneaked in with some other plants I bought two days ago. 👍
Get goldfish!
I love these videos!!!
how often do you do water change?
Every 45 to 60 days. Every 30 days on the glass bottoms. The 2.5 gallons may need it around 21 days. The ponds with dirt only get topped off.
I usaully try to make it to the end of a video before hitting like. This one had at, "These are the freedoms George Washington fought for" glad i clicked on your ebay add. Thanks for the fresh content!
I'll be moving to zone 9. Sorry if Houston on the Gulf shore (Lake Jackson/ Freeport) Its my goal to utilize the warmer weather for some species going forward with my plans. Just no swordtails apparantly.
Yes also I’m being tortured with dragonfly larvae, they definitely had an effect on some of my Ricefish. It froze twice so I had them in the garage for the guppies. I have pulled 30+ larvae from these ponds. If you have a screen or a closed porch that would be primo. Maybe large goldfish that will eat the dragonfly larvae.
That opening line got me good! That was hilarious!
Goldfish Or I had success with using a powerhead at the surface of my 75 gal. It pushed the duckweed to one corner and I just regularly pulled it out and got rid of it. My duckweed came as a hitch hiker from plants bought out of a bog at a local fish store.
