Transit rear spring upgrade changing MK7 MK8 springs quickly, tipper springs.
Просмотров 13 тыс.2 года назад
A very short video giving advice on how to upgraded transit MK7 or MK8 rear springs on a tipping truck. Springs cost £300 including bolts which is good because genuine cost £600 plus. You can NOT buy spring bushes from Fords. These springs are guaranteed for one year and bushes are available, job is very easy, I hope this helps you tackle this job. MK8 trucks have very weak springs unlike earli...
Campervan spray foam insulation, professional insulation done on my van.
Просмотров 9442 года назад
This is a very short video showing how my van was insulated using spray foam, which was installed on my self build Sprinter camper conversion. It's not the usual type out of cans, this was professionally installed. It's a short video because you can't go into the van whilst it's being done. I only put this up to help others decide how to best insulate, everyone has a different approach, some ri...
Campervan cupboards from lightweight Aluminium, 80/20.
Просмотров 21 тыс.2 года назад
I hope this video gives others enough information to help them make their own super strong and lightweight camper van furniture. I've opted not to use wood, glued and screwed together, in my opinion this is stronger, lighter and safer than what most choose to do, however it's a little more expensive and involves research and more tools. I've used lightweight Poplar ply and Acrylic lacquer toget...
Tambour shower door fit in a self build camper.
Просмотров 20 тыс.2 года назад
A short instructional video aiding people fitting a Tambour shower door to their self build campers. After contacting the online seller I was given the wrong information, I contacted the UK distributor/manufacture, who gave definitive advice on how the door should be fitted. This video is short and to the point, it's aim is to help other like me.
How to make a solar panel roof rack from lightweight aluminium 40x40, 80/20.
Просмотров 5 тыс.3 года назад
This is part of my self build Sprinter camper videos to help others. It shows how I built a custom roof rack from Aluminium extrusion, this supports a Victron 215 watt solar panel. Know as 80/20 in the USA, I used the Bosch Rexroth system of 40 x 40 mm. It's very light and super strong. I detail the different ways to make joints and fix the struts to the roof. This roof rack on the Sprinter is ...

Thanks so much you saved me a bunch of time trying to figure it out 😊
nice well done, A list of things you use in your build can be helpful to your viewers or tie it to Amazon so you get a little for your work, like to know what you call those plastic rails and where to buy them great idea, Thank you
@@FBall-im8ui there is lots of information in past comments.
Thank you for providing such excellent information for a beautiful project.
I’m starting a van build soon ,very impressed with this system, can you tell me again what they called & where to source them pls many thanks Neil.

Well done, mate! I am now convinced, after watching so many YT videos, that THIS is the way I will do my cabinets. So much easier. Thank you!!!
Can you get insulated tambour doors? Hate the fact these are hollow. I wish they were filled with closed sell foam.
you legend. thanks for that. My bathroom looks really good...but seeing yours....wow. impressive. thank you for the vid.
You seem like a helpful guy! Thanks for the helpful video…. I’m a California dummy!
Perfect. I have a similar outer door with these 'raised' mouldings. Thanks!
Do you have a link to where you found the black channel pieces that the cabinet doors slide on?
Part-on do them in Birmingham
Clever and inspiring. Would you mind sharing what the sliding rail for the doors is named? It is such a unique item I cannot find easily in the USA.
Bought in uk. www.part-on.co.uk/product/8mm-slot-sliding-door-profile-3842526588-3842555262/
Where did you buy this kit ? I am in Australia and I don’t find any website or place
that strength test had me on pins and needles! well done and thanks for the share
I spy an engineer at work..... beautiful work.
Love the work. Can you please tell me what those Allen Screw Connectors are called and where I might find them? Thank you for sharing.
KJN quick connectors.
@@GaryATC I'm guessing not available in the US?
very helpful video. brilliant job on the cabinets
Really helpful thanks!
This is the best cupboard tutorial. Thank you so much. May I have the exact items used? Particularly the nuts and bolts. Thx
Google KJN / Bosch Rexroth range
Really helpful thank you
Where did you jack it up ? Tia
Jacking points and axle.
any links to where you got the aluminium also is there a build video as i simply wont know the names of the different components angles curves end plugs ? no idea cheers
Hi great how to video, where did you get the 30x30 from
Where did you get your internal roof panels from?
Mercedes-Benz original fitment.
10 years later and still helpful!
Hi been watching your video very good idea Could you please put up a link for supplies of the plastic runners thank you
KJN Google them.
Thank you
Where did you get the sliding track for your 80/20?
KJN.
Simple idea but clearly well thought out constructed & installed 🙂 The only thing I think is missing was the weight of the completed cupboards cupboards & a list of quantities used which would allow others to compare what they have to this well engineered solution Well done great video too👍
From a while back, The 30x30 weighs approximately .9 kg/mt. The long door side used 8mts in total (7.2kg). The shorter side used 6mts (5.4kg). The lightweight Poplar ply weighs less than 2 kgs. I hope this helps you decide the lightest and strongest options
Thank you for the video. I would like to emulate your approach, but it is not obvious to me how you were able to slide such long 80/20 rails onto the bolts in the ceiling and the side wall with the windshield in the front. Can you please explain?
Thank you mate!
Thankyou
Did you not try CT1 to fix the UPVC square section?
A very helpful video
Helpful video . Am strugging to get the centre pin correct on my mk7 transit rwd panel van . I will do it the correct way now 👌🙏👍
Did it make any deformation to the panels outside, as it is widely claimed on many other channels. Kindly share your opinion of the end result to the exterior of the van? Also, does it get unstuck from panels (loose) in any way over time? Any pros and cons from overall experience? Thanks in advance.
In bright sunlight you do notice very small deformation, it does NOT get unstuck. I would do this again as it makes van strong, quiet, solid. Never had a problem with condensation unless temperature is 4c and very wet/cold outside.
@@GaryATC many thanks. That’s very helpful.
Neat job
Noticed you have two sets of nuts - one you can only put in from the end of the profile - part number? I've only started and only have the ones you can put in later. Thanks
You'll have to send a picture. I'm unsure which ones?
Thanks for the video. Can I ask where you purchased your Tamber door from please?
Any of the UK camper shops have them(Magnum)
great video... how easy it is ... exactly what I need Ford Australia want thousand dollars just change the radiator! made my day cheers
Hello where did you buy this part? I see that this part can rotate against the door.
It's a Lagun part. (Camper Interiors).
Hey Gary! Love your Loo. Was that made by you or did you source it pre-made? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks
Made by me.
Great video, very helpful in helping me decide whether to buy this for my van ...a couple of questions please. 1. How wide is your doorway cutout? 2. How far from the edge is the cutout at the side where the tambour radius sits? Thanks in anticipation.
Great video bud , does it rattle a lot when your driving ??? Cheers Steve
No noise or rattles.
That is super helpful.. Thanks
One of the best method to make those cupboards in a capervan. Beautifully done and well explained. Good luck with your trips.
Doing just that.
@@GaryATC where did you purchase all of the aluminium and fittings? Thanks
Bonjour Comment faire pour sortir le roulement ?
Thankyou so much. We were quoted £400 to put a cat flap in (not including the cat flap) as our door has the ridges like this and they said that it would require new panels as it was impossible to fit otherwise. Now to find a handyman who can do that for me!!
Great Video! I'm using the same building technique and wonder which thickness each spacer had (the 2° spacer on the ceiling and the 8,5° spacer on the side)?
Ceiling zero. There's enough flex. 8-10 on the sides is plenty. There is flex in the panels so don't worry BTW don't use rivnuts. Terrible things. Try "Versu" nuts. Just like you use on dry lining board.
@@GaryATC Great, thanks. Here in Germany, they are called plus-nuts. 🙂 Do you remember to what length you cut the top and side round-bar spacers?
How much was the door ?
Perfect
What did you use for the swivel mount to turn the table too 90° to be parallel to the van doors?
It's a genuine Laguna part. Google search it.
I don't see that on the lagun website. Can you post the link to 90 degree attachment
@@mitchalberts6077I don't think it is. I've never seen it
