224 block 4x4 bandage tutorial
These moves are a great trick to solve parity cases on a bandaged 4x4. I got them from someone much smarter than me on the twisty puzzle forum and wanted to share them because I haven't seen them on youtube.

This is the sengso circular (crazy) 5x5x5 and megaminx. These are the versions with corners that add nothing to the solve. I could've disassembled the 5x5 a little more, it may have some hidden mysteries yet to be discovered.

Puzzle Madness with Chewie's Custom Puzzles and Sticker Mods
I had a really hard time with the OLL parity, too, but I eventually figured it out and solved it, but it involved a lot of intuitive moves and single edge piece 3 cycles using commutators. But I don't really remember how I did it 😂. As for the permutation parity, to swap corners I just did a T-perm and then solved the 2 swapped double edges intuitively. It does mess up the 3x3x3 part of the solve a bit, but that's easy to fix. This algorithm is really useful, but I'd like to understand why and how it works. Either way, thanks for this!
A big thank you for this video! This is exactly what I needed to solve my cube. 😀
I’m glad you enjoy the puzzles Preston, and thank you for the review! That’s crazy to me that the store you mentioned glues directly onto the stickers! I just wanted to clarify a few points: Unfortunately, all my puzzles modeled off of a 6x6 or higher dimension puzzle need to use a stickerless base. The Meilong, Meilong V2, and Huanglong lines are the most compact/best turning puzzles and only come in stickerless 😞. The “post processed” puzzles I offer have the sanding done, but are much more expensive! I’m sure the unfinished versions are far cheaper, which is a good alternative for a tighter budget.
I thought the text was white. Oh well, moves are in the description.
He's still alive!
Also it can be done a three circles sharing the same corner (front, top, rigth) and the other three faces without circle. Also it can be done a three circles (left, front, rigth) and the other three faces without circle. Also it can be done a two circles shating the same edge (front, top) and the other four faces without circle. And a lot more combinations of types 0, 1 and 2.
Thank you, so glad you see my vision!! The only thing stopping me from getting more is my ability to solve them. I'm starting to model my own extensions. Maybe I'll make bump cubes out of the witeden 3x3xN cubes.
The bowl is definitely a good cube stand for these fruits Thank you for the cube stand idea
I can’t figure out how to do the double jumble in order to flip the center. I know how to do it easily with the cube version but not with this. Please make a tutorial if you can
Hi. Who build the ghost megaminx?
I have the stickerless version of this puzzle and it catches absolutely everywhere. It's a nightmare to turn. Have you also tried the stickerless version? If so, do you find that the stickered version turns better? I had to have to waste money to buy a duplicate of the same puzzle with stickers being the only difference. But the stickerless version is so bad that I may have to do so if you think that the stickered version is indeed superior. I think I may have also already bungled the puzzle with several illegal moves. Not sure if I'll be able to get it back in a solved state with the current state that it's in. We shall see.
'promo sm' 🤪
Should've went with the stickerless version. The stickers on this puzzle are terrible and it's incredibly distracting while trying to solve it.
Thank you for the highlight!! Apologies you had to send it back for a fix - I always appreciate your patience with my prototyping. I have made a second version of the puzzle where I truncate the inner base 5x5. I have managed to decrease the size to around 80 mm cubed. It’s really hard to notice, but the version you have is not actually cubic - it’s around 105 x 100 x 95 mm. However, since the concept of proportionality is out the window for Ghost puzzles, I decided to keep the new version cubic and optimize on a smaller size. I am building it now and will have a video up soon!
Is this the v1 or v2?
Version 2 with the inner corner pieces. I feel like there could be an easier way with a piece of plastic. The apoxy scult wasnt sticking so I used some glue. It got really thin after sanding.
Nice mod :)
Great video! Megaminx can configure a center to leave 1 piece of core. Do you try it? Only jupiter's config are problematic.
You can configure any face on the megaminx to go from a zero to a one face. It just takes a bit of work. So far I've only changed one face using some apoxy sculpt to make a pentagon around the upper part of the cap. Maybe gluing some small pieces of plastic would work. I'm still experimenting with it
@@prestonsmith3137 I'd love to see a follow video where you show what you did with the apoxy sculpt.
@@JoshMermel I made a youtube short about the apoxy scult. It worked well for one face. I was experimenting with 3d printing but the part I need is too small for me to print successfully. I ordered a second puzzle to mod all the centers of one. Even if they're not perfect it is a huge improvement over the turning of the mf8 crazy megaminx planets.
@@prestonsmith3137 ty! I'm going to try something similar on the sengso crazy pyraminx.
@@JoshMermel You're welcome. Best of luck, its a little tedious with the sanding and my tiny bit of apoxy sculpt needed to be glued at the end.
Big reveal @8:00
I just got the crazy v2 in the mail yesterday. Just solved it earlier with no help in about fifteen minutes. I'm really impressed with it as well. It's so much better than the version 1, which is flimsy and terrible.
The 5x5 Crazy cube looks like an awesome puzzle, but I was bummed when I saw that they made it pillowed. All of my stickerless puzzles are flat, and being the perfectionist that I am, I wouldn't be able to stand having one (or even a few) pillowed cubes standing out like sore thumbs. So, I passed on getting this one for now.
Haha, I totally get that about you. The previous comment made me think of your case with all stickeless puzzles. A lot of people prefer stickers but I get why you don't, they catch on each other, they curl or get discolored, and eventually fall off.
@@prestonsmith3137 Exactly! Plus I've grown to prefer the look of stickerless puzzles over those that are stickered. I also love tiled puzzles like the Crazy Gear Cube, but unfortunately very few puzzles are made that way.
I really wish Sengso still made stickered versions of their puzzles 😢
That would look good!
I also love to bring 3-4 of my favorite puzzles along on any trips, especially if I'll be gone for more than three weeks. They're a great way to pass the time on really long flights, train rides, or bus rides. Sadly, the Bermuda Megaminx series appears to no longer be in active production. I went to order one and neither Ziicube, Cubezz, Aliexpress, or The Cubicle has any black versions from that series in stock. Unless they bring the series back into production, I may NEVER be able to find even a single black puzzle from the series. THANKS for the videos, Preston. It's always really enjoyable to gain further insight into your extensive and unique collection.
THAT'S AWESOME! I'm still learning the regular 3x4x5.
Cool, it can be tricky when you're first learning. Get comfortable with the URF'd algorithm and then the 3 cycle for bricks.
This is you who bought it! You were faster than me😄
They are now available in my shop!!
That looks a lot different than my version haha. I will have to print it soon.
That would be awesome!!
Good to see you back. It looks like you're displaying the Puppet II cube. Did you also solve the Puppet I cube? I found it much harder than the Puppet II,
I did solve both. Thanks for the comment.
Everyone's favorite content creator is back!!
Haha, yeah buddy!! Thanks for the support
SuperantonioVivaldi has a video showing a method that avoids the long algorithm for the last layer edges. You basically use the same short algorithm used here to do the bottom layer, but for both layers, top,and bottom. There are 2 restrictions: it messes one layer up then fixes it, so you always have to perform it twice in each position and you can’t move the messed up layer between algorithms. One time messes things up but swaps a piece, the second time swaps another piece and fixes everything.
When I did the long “swap two pieces” algorithm twice, the puzzle was scrambled again. Total fail.
Michèle Regano has done a lot of tutorial, especially on Chewie's puzzles
The radio 3 cube is probably the solve i am the proudest. It took me years and 3 trials before being able to solve it. This is hard not to do a jumble move and blocks everything...
I am very proud of that solve too. Without the years of experience it wouldn't be possible. Thanks for the comment.
I checked your diamond cuboid tutorial a few days ago and wonderd where you've been, haha. Welcome back! I remember 2-face crazy cubes being sold at hknowstore, are they not available anymore?
Hello, thanks for the comment and welcoming me back. The 2 face cubes aren't available anywhere as far as I know.
For the sudoku cube, it actually helps a lot to map out a solution on paper. Not as fun but it's way easier.
Thank you, that's a great idea.
Very good procurement of puzzles

Have you solved the Lan Lan 4 corners plus cube? It is a bandaged version of this. Specifically the Plus version. I'm having trouble with the little triangles connected to the centers. I managed to get the cube back to cube shape but unfortunately the method with this tutorial does not translate over. If you have it could you maybe do a tutorial?
How do you create one
Great video. Thank you for posting this. I have been working through this puzzle using your tutorial and the one posted by Twistypuzzling. In his video, he solves the puzzle with the 0-0 faces on bottom and top. It appears your solve is with the 1-1 on bottom and top. Would you say your way is easier?
I still want to watch twisty puzzle's video and try his method.
Where to get ghosted 2x3x4s?
I read that someone was just killed when a boat/raft flipped over on one of their expeditions.

Tiny and hard. Jumble Prism is incredible shape generator, Madness Piraminx is simpler shape but more elements. Solve both on my channel

Crazy megaminx series is fun. My pair now turn like a dream.
Wow! Awesome choices! I’m not as advanced at the bandage cubes but it was cool to see you present them. Made me want to do a top ten video of my favorite 3d printed/custom puzzles!! Nice job!!
Thank you!! Bandage puzzles are very advanced and I can solve some of the more common ones and a few that aren't. There is always people who I think are complete genius compared to my following tutorials.
Great video! Creativ3 makes some very nice and well priced puzzles for sure, plus a huge selection. Beautiful puzzles by Greg and Raf, as well as your mods! 👏👏👏 AI cubes are high on my bandage list personally.. 8 layer for sure. Working on a 10 layer AI, that should be fun too!
Thank you for the comment. I do love solve the intuitive nature of ai puzzles like the 246 or 357. Never could solve the 468 ai style.
Do you have any tips for making the puzzle turn better? My stickerless version just arrived and one of the faces is impossible to fully rotate without prying pieces back into alignment. Would a tension adjustment help you think?
Very cool collection. Do you have any "tribrid" puzzles? Face + edge + corner turning cube?
I'm fairly certain I don't. Can you give me an example of such a puzzle.
@@prestonsmith3137, Justin Costa aka Illatsion Cubing actually just showcased one on his Instagram! The Twins Skewb (2x2 version) which is a hybrid of the Skewb + Curvy Copter Plus + 2x2! I don’t think there’s many, if any, ‘tribrid’ puzzles out there available to purchase (yet).
That Mirror Curvy Copter looks crazy. I want one! haha About the Emerald, yeah I agree the solve is not too different. I may redesign it at some point anyway since it's my least favorite of the three.
I'm curious if you're still considering the 3x4x5 ghost and wanting someone to commission it. What layers would you ghost it on? Thanks for checking out the video, so happy to have a couple of your puzzles in my collection. I totally got the name wrong, it's the diamond lol.
@@prestonsmith3137 Yep. I have the 345 mech ready but never finalized a Ghost version. I’m leaning toward 5 layers but obviously if someone wants to commission it then they can decide on that. Unfortunately Evginey’s shop closed due to the situation in Ukraine… so I’ll probably assemble the puzzles myself by request from now on, which is boring when it’s not a new puzzle like the 234 Ghosts haha. I will probably sell my copy of the Emerald soon since I don’t play with it too much. And Sapphire is a better name anyways :P
@@GreenArt4 On the 5 layers is best and probably most difficult considering the solve. I would be honored to commission it. I'm going on a trip and will be back the end of this month. How much cost, I'll prepare myself and set aside the money.
@@prestonsmith3137 Haha that would be great! I’ll give the design a look and update you.
@@GreenArt4 I'm excited to see this puzzle come into existence, I want to help make it a reality. Maybe we can get one to superAntonio to make a solve video. I think his hell's cuboid strategy would help a lot.
