    Hi Bigelow, I'm so happy to hear that you're still doing so well after your total knee replacement. Thank you for responding. I was wondering if you had to deal with any steps in your home after your surgery because I have 11 steps between my down stairs which is where my kitchen, living room and another bathroom is and my upstairs which is where my office, bedroom and another bathroom is? Unfortunately I live all by myself now since my better half passed away a short time ago, so there will be nobody to assist me. I was wondering if I should get a power lift chair, which is what I did for my hip replacement and set it up downstairs so I don't have to deal with the steps. Also you seem to recommend a great deal of cold compresses, do you think if I get two or three of those knee gel packs that be sufficient? Also did your surgeon use robotic assistance? One other question, I am A Self-employed Business Broker and have to go to all the appointments by myself, do you think that I will be able to do so 2 to 3 weeks ? Thanks again, John Stefan PS, I used to be a professional trumpet player with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, so if you like music, go to my RUclips channel by clicking on my picture I have a lot of music that you might enjoy?

      @@johnstefan-vn9sg absolutely I'll check out you channel. That's really cool about you being a trumpet player for Frankie. I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. You can do this. First I was about to drive after about a week and a half. It was my left knee. I was back to cutting firewood after about 2 to 3 weeks. I am also self employed. I run a sawmill. I waited 6 weeks to do the heavy work. Steps are a challenge at first going one for over another. That took me a couple weeks. But I had no problem with steps when you double step each step. It's just slow. My surgeon did use the striker robot to do the surgery. If you get time check out my 6 week video of me exercising. It's in my play list. I do steps in that video. Best of luck and feel free to reach out any time. Jerry

    I just wanted to thank you for posting your total knee replacement video. It was quite encouraging. I have already had a right knee replacement in 2005, a left hip replacement in 2021 and two back operations and lots of arthritis. At my present age it seems like I have to go through another left knee replacement as it is bone on bone now. I admit that I am a little fearful of having to go through another major operation at my age but I guess it's smarter to get it over with now due to the fact that it will be much harder to go through the older I get. I had gotten a gel shot about four months ago, which took 2 1/2 months to help the pain and only lasted 1 1/2 months as far as helping the pain is concerned and is coming back again, so I believe that the next step is going to be setting myself up for a total replacement. I must admit that seeing your video is helping my decision to get it done ASAP. I'll be viewing the rest of your videos because I still work for a living and must be able to drive to and from Appointments and I live by myself. Thanks again and I hope you're feeling well. John

    I was into the 4th week to be doing that good. I had sciatic pain before and after surgery and also have fibromyalgia maybe that’s the reason. Second knee coming soon not looking forward to that but today something popped in knee and haven’t been able to put weight on it so maybe sooner than later. 😢

      @@wbgames7406 It did hurt day 1 though 4 were the worst. I powered through it. It hurt whether I was resting or moving. Moving was my answer. I've had a lot of pain in life. I was a professional material artist literally up until the day of surgery. Ran a Brazilian jiu-jitsu school for 25 years lots of injuries I guess that got me ready for it. Lol

      @@wbgames7406 I only have the left done right now. The right is bone on bone but doesn't hurt so I'm carrying on. Yeah. I remember when I did it. They told me it was just a strain lol. I also injured my right and they told me the same thing. My surgeon thinks that's gone too. That's good to hear you have some time. Work on getting that leg stronger and more flexion. I have a couple videos in the playlist that shows the exercises I did before surgery and what ones I was doing at 6 weeks. Listen to your PT and best of luck

    I just bought a refill today. It would not dispense. I went through a few beers watching videos and this is the only that was precise and not someone wanting to hear themselves talk. I was reluctant to loose that propane but it worked!!! Great video. I never knew this

    Oh, I forgot to mention in the last post that BOTH of the valve stems on my transport wheels have failed recently. The stems simply break off a quarter inch or so from the wheel and of course make the tire go flat. It seems like they must have been made in two parts that separate over time because there is a fairly flat surface that reveals itself. Check yours and replace the stems before you trust them to get you very far down the road.

    • @BigelowWoodcraft
      @BigelowWoodcraft 5 дней назад

      I've not had that problem yet. Fortunately I own a tire change machine. I'll keep an eye on them. I'm actually thinking about taking my wheels and axles off and making it more permanent. Thanks again for your contribution to the discussion. Have a great weekend

    Thanks for the great review. I have one of the first of the OS27's produced, I think. I have had all the same problems that you have had, especially the powdercoating, shifting log rests, bad tank valve and all the rest. With a cheap Harbor Freigjht ball valve and an extra throttle cable I was able to make an automatic watering system for just a few dollars. Get the urethane v-belt from Timber Wolf (Suffolk Machinery) for the driving pully. It fits tightly, lasts seemingly forever, cushions the blade and does not cake up with sawdust like the one that comes with the Frontier. Timberwolf blades are good, too. I also am happy with the OS27 and have found it to be a great value if you are willing to solve a few problems yourself. Let me know if you find a good solution for the log rest bracket movement. You can never trust the stops to be vertical and it sometimes takes lots of shimming to end up with a square cant. I often make hardwood log rests so I don't worry about hittimg the metal stops, When edging boards, I just saw through the wooden stops. Where did you buy the bearings that you mounted at the top of your stops?

    • @BigelowWoodcraft
      @BigelowWoodcraft 5 дней назад

      Good advice on the drive belt. I agree. Great value of you're ok with some simple modifications to make it easier to run. I got the bearings on line. They are the same OD as the width of the log stops. I think in time I'll just weld the log stop holders in place. I use a square every time. Thanks for watching and great contribution with your comment.

    Watch a few more videos than this one from others. This video makes it appear as if you 1) have no pain after surgery - believe me, you’ll have pain. Each patient is different and reacts differently. But definitely get off the oxycodone as soon as possible. Extra strength Tylenol will do the job in the correct dose prescribed. 2) you can toss your walker at least 5 paces away from your recliner - Don’t do that. Your walker is your friend. And you’ll rely on it for at least a week. 3) have almost 90 deg bend in your knee right after surgery. I had 68 deg angle and was told that this is very good. 4) have no need for compression stockings. Believe me - you do. He is right about the ice. Ice, Ice Baby. All day. 25 minutes on. 25 minutes off. And he’s also correct about moving. A stiff knee is much harder to rehab than a flexible knee. This guy’s physiology is of an athletic type. He definitely will rehab quicker than most. Actually a little jealous but not and others who’ve had the surgery won’t regret it and will at the end of the day, feel at least 10 years younger. Maybe even 20.

      I think I was pretty honest and straightforward about the pain level. It did hurt and I chose to stay off the oxy. I also had other means of dealing with the pain. Great comment I appreciate you taking the time to watch it best of luck to you with your great comment I appreciate you taking the time to watch it best of luck to you with your knee.

    Since the wood for those bundles is practically a waste byproduct from the mill, and if you have a visible location with traffic flow, it seems like as long as you give the customer what they feel is a value for their money, you really can't lose!!

      I've been using it in my boiler but there just isn't any heat in the pine. I figured I'd give it a go. I have a video coming out next week building the entire bundle business as I see it for us. Exactly right. 25 years of being self employed told me exactly what you said. Under promise and over deliver. I'm using the big bags. We have 4 locations locked down. I built one stand so far. I need to get the rest built. Tim, over the couple years you've given great comments on this channel. It's much appreciate. Did you run your own business, management, etc? Your comments over time have indicated a wise man. I appreciate you.
