Just an idea i dont know how your economy is but a fun thing to test or do is to buy a small logging trailer for the polaris like one with the winch on it. I have one of those on my Bolens diesel and it works great! i live in sweden so there quite easy to get but their kinda expensive. Great video cant wait for the next one. Have a good one!
@Philips-Garage that would be really fun to try out, but it's way out of my budget for the foreseeable future. They are quite pricy, as you said. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video! Thank you 😊

I just releaved my trauma 😂 from removing pto yoke on a pto shaft - bought used implement with already cut pto shaft - longer shaft was needed, but PTO had specialized clutch which was very expensive to replace. I was using hydraulic press and vice to take yoke apart and the shaft would just not pop out under the force. It was grueling 5hrs of work to get it apart. I felt your pain. 😅
@@BlackCatSL hahah, I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thanks for sharing that story, i had a laugh! 😂
Great work on the Polaris
Thank you! 😊
Hello Richard, I am glad you got finished what you set out to repair on the ATV and you shared the video with us. I look forward to seeing it tested and proved, and to see your planned use for this machine. Take care and may God bless you abundantly!
I'm glad you enjoyed and thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it! And likewise of course!
Being jelous because we don't have big trees out here?
Yes! Haha. I need some redwood on my property.
Du sveiser like dårlig som meg.
Hello Richard, Stick welding thin metal would be a difficult task i suggest similar to mig, weld a spot like a tack weld, let it cool a bit then chip slag, and repeat in a lapping place with another tack. Slow process, but that is what i have had success doing on auto body metal with a Mig welder. Take care. I am looking forward to the next video on this machine. Edit added: if 10mm is too large and 9mm too small, i would guess 3/8" is your size.
Thanks for the tips! I'd like to get a MIG welder in the future, the stick is very difficult for me on thin metal. Also, yes, seems like I need some imperial wrenches, haha. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked the video!
Chicken poop welds. That’s what mine look like too. But who cares? As long as they hold. Cool video wrench man.

Strengthen that strut, weld on a plate, it will just break again.
Probably a good idea. I'll do that if/when it breaks again, thanks!
Hi mate came across your channel about a week ago and I like it, good vids. I used to work for JCB building heavy duty cabs my advice get rid of the stone age stick welder and get a good MIG welder. Also you reconised weak points that have all ready been welded so dont just reweld strengthen them with a sleve on top or behind or both, I hate doing the same job twice, Keep up the good work, ACE.
Thanks for the comment and helpful tips. A MIG welder would be nice, I used to have a cheap Stanley one that worked pretty well until it gave up on me. The stick is definitely not the best for this application, especially for someone like me who doesn't have thousands of hours with it.
I have been waiting for this video, great work Richard, Love your videos❤

Takk for kommentaren! 😊
That's exactly my ammount of sketchines 😂 also at 6:48 (and few other moments) looks like we're using the same torque wrench 😉

Thank you so much 😀
the "time left" bar for the broken sound was a subtle but very nice touch. some great editing as always
Yeah I was pretty upset when I found out the sound was broken on a lot of footage. Lesson learned! I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching, and for the nice comment! 🥰
Thank you for the video. I think you may be correct that the cold temperature is affecting the tire to not form back on the wheel as it would when warmer. That, or maybe needed some lubricant to allow it to slide on? Good effort to show another method, but in the end, the flame and flammable spray approach did what was needed to re-seat the bead. Well done!
Yeah I was kind of upset that I wasn't able to show the ratchet strap method. I agree about some lubricant and I was going to try with some vaseline grease, but grabbed the contact spray instead by mistake, haha. I'm glad you liked the video! Thanks for the comment, and for watching of course 🥰
Ahhh the old ratchet strap around the tire trick. I use that for my zero turn mower tires.
Yeah it usually works pretty well. This time it just wouldn't happen no matter what I did. I'm fairly certain it was the cold giving me issues. Thanks for the comment, and for watching 🥰
Sami bale grab. Cool to see a made-in-Estonia product. Is it good?
Yeah its awesome, I'm very happy with it. Got it very lightly used for just $600! I like Sami products, wish there was more of it around here.
@@woodlandwrench I have Sami PH200 log grapple. Back for the Massey, to carry out wood from the forest. Also, have a Sami rock bucket. Good products
Hi, for my 6x6, I bought a winch relay with wireless remote controlls, connected them in paralell, nice to be able to use when out in the woods... there should be a relay for the switch to, mine was located under the panel in front, just behind the head lamp.
Hey, thanks for watching and for sharing your setup! A winch relay with wireless controls sounds like a great upgrade, especially for working in the woods. I’ll check behind the headlamp for the switch relay, appreciate the tip! 🥰
Yes it is a brake lever. Yes, the button is for the winch, but not front and back as you think, but one at a time. the cables to the winch relay are usually routed a little differently, it doesn't really matter where.😊
I see, well I was half right at least! Thanks for bringing some clarity on this, I appreciate it 😇
Congratulations! A Big Boss is a must in the forest and on the farm. I have had mine (2010 model) for 8 years now. Cannot live without it - absolutely a necessity in the forest and around the farm. I use mine all the time - and it is my go-to vehicle. It has to be heavy loads before I take the tractor. But I can see you have your work cut out for you repairing it. But once you get it fixed it will be a very valuable tool for you. Regarding the stuff you were in doubt of: The switch on the left handlebar is for the winch (3 wires for winching in and out). The green plastic is the light for the indicator (it is broken). I cannot emphasise how important it is to check/change the oil (engine, gearbox, middle dif and front dif (Demand Drive)). Get yourself an oil change kit from e.g. Motorspeed.no - and change all the fluids. Also try to fix- or even better - replace the broken speedometer - it contains the second "brain" of the ATV. Give me a shout if you need tips and tricks and what to look out for in your "new" Big Boss. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for the detailed advice and encouragement! It’s great to hear how essential your Big Boss has been-definitely inspiring. I’ll prioritize the oil changes and look into replacing the speedometer. I might just take you up on the offer for tips as I go! Thanks again! 😊
Thank you for the video. I know very little of ATVs, so I can't give you any help on the switches, cut wires or burned fuses. Wiring in general I do know a little bit. Sounds to me like some time will be needed to trace those cut wires to discover where they connected in the past and if they are in good condition to use them again or bypass them. I look forward to seeing the next video. Have a blessed day!
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! Tracing the cut wires is a great idea. I'll definitely be diving into that soon, so stay tuned for that! Thanks and a blessed day to you as well! 🥰
