i'm autistic. the idea of someone envying me made me anxious. it implies that person has some idea of me, which i cannot control, that puts me on some lofty ideal, which i did not ask for. they are, in other words, perceiving and noticing me way too much for my comfort. on one hand, it means they are envious of an image they essentially made up and this is not what bothers me. otoh, it means they see me as that image, and it is solidifying or solid and rigid. i think when we have these ideas of people that are rigid enough to idealise and envy, we stop seeing their autonomy and capability to grow and change, we start objectifying them (they become 'side character' status to your 'main character plot'). so when they deviate, we irrationally hold it against them, because most people dislike change or feeling like this person they 'know' and 'trust that they know' is now doing something that contradicts that image or is unexpected compared to that image. and that creates a hostility in itself. for me, as an autistic, there is the added layer of 'well, what the hell is it they think i am, what should i perform as?' because socialising/communication is hard for us, we put on social masking for non-autistic people to even be willing to interact with us, so like, what part of that mask struck out well enough to go from 'kinda odd, kinda off' to being seen as intrinsic to me and whatever image they envy? i do not relate to main character framing of life. it always freaks me out that people exist like that tbh. i don't want to be a main character. everyone is looking and thinking about them. gross. absolutely not. shit is hard enough without that. i would rather not imagine someone envies me. _shiver_ i have plenty of self-esteem and shit i am fine enough at. i just want that envious person to... go away now, please. go away and do not talk to me.

I have always loved commentary youtube but every time I finish a video I look at myself and wonder why i'm letting some random voice from a screen add bias to my viewpoints!! every time I see something online I go to the comments to see if others think the same thing as me. This youtube channel is the first to satisfy this itch i've been having to understand why I think the things I do. it's not normal to find validation from a person you've never come into contact with in person. The internet is forcing us to have the same views as a large group of people to an extent that is not healthy. just be yourself ❤. thank you for such a good video!

It’s also because of the death of third spaces/communities. You used to complain and disclose these things in clubs, associations, friend groups, etc. It would be shared with the assumption of secrecy or a baseline understanding of a shared experience (like terrible customers as a waitress or awful injuries as nurses). Now it’s available to EVERYONE and ANYONE, who also often do not care for nuance or context.

Spent 2 years creating, enjoyed the journey and learning new skills, hit over 1k sub but watched hours never came close to monetized. I realized I either double down or stop giving my time away for free. I chose the latter, as my time is more valuable, the profit would never be worth the time investment required. RUclips needs to offer better.

Can I argue that emojis and text punctuation have different "grammatical" rules for different people or groups of people, in the interests of "matching the vibe" (or code-switching)? For example, should you use zero, one, three, or fifteen sobemojis to express disappointment or embarrassment? The answer is rigid, but the rule is not universal.
