i don't hate on skyrim players, but the lack of custom spells and complex enchantments makes things super boring. plus it's just ugly...it's like the only colors they had were brown and grey. i don't care that much about the lore of oblivion, but the game mechanics AND aesthetic are so much better than skyrim, it isn't even funny

How did I not see this video before? Haha! Your final words perfectly capture why this is one of my favorite MMOs and RPGs. It has everything I love about the TES series, plus I can team up with my guild homies to do Bosmer things. If only we could eat the N'wahs we kill, alas, nothing can be perfect, the cashshop is proff of this.

What makes TES so unique is having the option to play the game however you want. That also includes the choice to play in 1st or 3rd person. And future TES games would probs lose a big chunk of their player base, if they suddenly became 1st person only.

Skyrim is more of an action/adventure than an Rpg

idk how i did it, but i have succeeded in escaping Privateers Hold with only like 2-4 deaths while running the original version on MS-DOS emulator for Android. Sure it was lagging so much, but it was playable. I had to stop playing after exiting the dungeon 'cause it was so laggy it's become unplayable. Still, one of my favorite games ever.

In The Quest yo ucan click on a nameplate of an enemy to choose them as a target.

I prefer scrolls likes than souls likes tbh

Nothing beats getting your speed to 100 and using the mouse swing attack, you feel like speed itself, slicing and mowing enemies as fast as you can swing your mouse

The Quest is a little outdated, but its an excelent adventure! Also, its on Mobile Phones, so u can play wherever u go! I see this as an absolute win!

Adding to the name change: during Morrowind’s lore overhaul, the meaning of “Tamriel” in the Ehlnofey language was stated to be “Arena”. Which has allll sorts of metaphysical implications to do with Lorkhan & the Walking Ways & the “god named I”, but whatever. You get the gist. “Arena” is so called because it covers the entire continent.

Tainted Grail needs lightsabers mod. That lighting is incredible and a glow from a lightsaber on an enemy quite a distance away would be amazing to see.

The best Scrolls-like to play is Lorerim or similar huge modlist. I mean those one man indie projects are awesome, but far from the immersion TES brings.

I've been meaning to try daggerfall, and everyone tells me that it's good, except the dungeons are a slog.

Ardenfall is such a good Scrolls-like. Also the devs have recently shown off a new build of the game with improved combat and animations, it hasn't been added to the demo yet though.

I spent literal weeks in a dungeon before realizing I couldn't get the item because it generated so there was no way to reach it. I just quit. Unity actually made this game playable because the original was not

You should be able to 'strafe' in The Quest, so when an enemy moves to the left or right you can strafe that direction and still be facing them

Man, I love the Quest. It (and its expansions) were some of my favourite games as a teen, first on the PDA, then on the iPod touch. It's a little clunky at times, but it's strangely fun to play. I must have sunk hundreds of hours into the game

Why do people in the elder scrolls community completely disregard ESO? It is the most current elder scrolls title and it's great! It gets many updates and has heaps of great lore/rpg elements. It is Skyrim with friends and strangers, what more could you want?

Bruh. The Quest is a callback to the classic dungeon crawlers like Wizardry, Might and Magic and TSR Gold Box RPGs. It has absolutely no relation to Scrolls-likes in any capacity, and most things you say about it is plain wrong. Controls are classic Eye of Beholder fare, you can do all the meneuvres and actions by clicking onscreen buttons.

Early access isn't a 1.0 state. Early access is early access, and at most an alpha or beta test. What are you talking about?

Fallout is a scrolls like? I thought it would be a Fallout like? I really want to see an indie counterpart to the 3/New Vegas style of Fallout. I miss that era, but with smoother gunplay added in.
