Reading the feedback for this one, and it looks like I may have messed up. I have changed the title from "Reddit's Favorite RPG" to the current title, so if anyone's confused on the comments regarding Reddit, that's why. The original title only reflects one small gag I made in the middle of the video, and isn't indicative of the entire game experience. I don't mean to dissuade anyone from this game by associating it with a forum site that's memed on for having a toxic subculture. Just a distasteful joke that missed the mark on my part. My apologies. Do check out the game though. It's a great game and has no actual affiliations with Reddit, lol.
Levine can go fuck himself since I love the style of Death Stranding, Alan Wake, Control and the Read Dead series. Realistic style AND stylistic games can co-exist Jesus Christ.
@@ltyarv8071 I mean that might've been true in like 2012, but reddit atheism isn't a big deal anymore. The website is mainly used for niche interests and fandom stuff, it seems
@@KevinoftheCosmos My best guess is that the first major faction you encounter and the one you probably interact with the most is the Apostatic Union: a militant order/government dedicated to the eradication of gods and their worshippers. In short, the atheists that redditors THINK they are.
I lost my save to a wipe when 1.0 released. I had like 50 hours and was fully geared. Purposely hadn't finished. I came back and started another save. It's changed so much that it feels like a new game. Dread Delusion needs to be experienced to be understood. It's a such a surreal trip that it makes me feel like I was drugged, but in a good way.
Great video. Been waiting for one to pop up about this game after it's 1.0 launch. I was wary of the hype, but this video made me really excited for the game.
"You don't even have visible hands holding onto your sword. Buuut this is reminiscent of King's Field" I'm not sure where you pulled this out from or why. King's Field clearly models your entire arm when you swing your sword, regardless of if you're looking at the first KF game or the last one.
Yeah, that was an oopsie. I may have been thinking of Barony when I wrote that, which is still far off. Remember when I said I didn't know much about Kingsfield? 😅
I was really hyped for dread delusion and while I do still plan to finish it I started it after finishing lunacid and I just think that lunacid is just a better experience to me. Lunacid gives you a ton of build options while dread delusion feels a bit too restrictive. (funnily enough if dread delusion had the simple lunacid "level this to run faster" stat it would be more beneficial there because it has so much terrain to cover.) It isn't a bad game and the vibes of the game world are perfection. My main issue is that there is just no real threat to the player, nothing you face is actually dangerous at all even though you move slower than you do in lunacid. also it is completely a nitpick but I feel like since there is a weapon drawing animation there should be a weapon sheathing animation and button.
I kept hearing how much this game was like Morrowind so I decided to give it a try. Good game so far, but honestly it's more like KingsField than anything, you can't even properly loot corpses (to be fair, it seems the last game the devil made DIRECTLY sites King's Field as an inspiration so...)
It has the same tone and atmosphere as Morrowind, and not just cause the giant mushrooms lol. I was constantly reminded of Morrowind when I was playing. It's just got the same curious exploration feel to it, coupled with the weird alien environments and god killing lore.
Couldn´t agree more, Have played both DD and Sable and they are simillar in many ways. I love both of these games. They both make me feel nostalgic since they both make me remember a lot about gothic 1 and gothic 2
That is not a moon in the sky that is a Neuron Star. I've played and completed it 100% absolutely love this game but idk how you came away from it thinking that is a moon when several times the game mentions Neuron Stars and how the one that gives the Oneiric Isles it's day and night cycle just happens to be a solitary red one. I love this game. It is amazing. Great video!
Bruh, I was playing this on and off and enjoying myself, but that "Reddit" statement killed my enthusiasm a little bit. I'd also recommend Lunacid and Brigand: Oaxaca! They're great little additions to that "low fidelity RPG" shelf. Edit: So for everyone lost, the title before it was changed was something like "Dread Delusion: Reddit's Favorite RPG." Hence all the comments about Reddit.
Reddits a cesspool, sure. But avoiding a game cause reddit likes it is the same thing as only biying games if Reddit likes it. Either way youre letting a bunch of weirdos control your life lol.
I absolutely adore this game. It captures that ps1 wonder I miss of being in a low poly bizarre Dreamworld without the physical pain of ps1 first person controls and framerates. For what is worth, combat is a tad easy, but the dev knows and has a harder difficulty in the works.
Love the effort in the video, you deserve all the best man! Ps. I'm trying to get into editing my self for clips (With DaVinci Resolve), do you have any tips?
The comments here give me the impression that the guy who made this vid made a huge oopsie by not understanding how the greater internet sees reddit. It also gives me the impression that some people just see the title and not watch the whole video, one that actually praises the game. Love the game, and I get it's not for everyone, especially people who may want more action and fighting. But there's just so many things wrong here.
I play through this on release, basically did all the side content too. I dunno if 40 hours is terribly accurate on playtime, maybe 20(at a leisurely pace). That being said, I very much enjoyed the game, it was a super fun and surreal world to explore.
I challenge video essayists to not say anything about gameplay trumping graphics when discussing video games. Everyone says it. It's as lukewarm a take as "The Witcher 3 is an amazing game!"
I wanted to like this game, but it's just too empty and sparse, and the 'combat' is almost an afterthought. Putting points into wizard didn't seem to be rewarded at all and i'm 10+ hours in
My favorite thigns about this game are that it's very obviously completely unfinished and that it's got zero difficulty and you can easily solo the entire game with the starting weapon and no skill points spent because the AI is non existent and the enemy design is bottom barrel. But at least it has lots of faag.... Diversity.
What is it with redditors compulsively needing to shit on and distance themselves from other redditors? Nobody actually cares about what flavor of digital poison you prefer, every platform trash. Maybe it's just playful banter in this instance, but the trope of self-hating reddit users is real and pretty damn weird. Sick game though. Thanks for putting it on my radar, chief.
Honestly getting tired of hearing every gaming RUclipsr having to attack the gaming industry just to sell some indie game, good or not. Like can you sell us the fucking game and just stop all the negative BS for once? Both AAA games and good indies can co-exist.

Ken Levine said it best: games that try to be too realistic age the worst. A definitive art style is what keeps a game timeless visually
Levine can go fuck himself since I love the style of Death Stranding, Alan Wake, Control and the Read Dead series. Realistic style AND stylistic games can co-exist Jesus Christ.
Maybe an extreme example, but this is why Wind Waker still looks good today.
@@ofnir123wind waker still needed a remake to look halfway decent
i clicked the video assuming that associating it with reddit would be an insult to the game
More of a playful jab at Redditors, but it is a great game. Redditors have been the butt of a good handful of jokes in my other videos.
Reddits favorite, eh? Say no more. That's enough of a deterrent.
I hate quintessential Redditors. But this game is a surreal experience that has me entirely captivated.
You lost me at "Reddit".
That's like an anti-endorsement.
probably because of the infamous atheist group in reddit and the game involving killing gods... probably i guess

"Reddit's Favorite RPG"

If the gaming industrie want to make gaming more realistic they don't need to focus on graphics alone, but also on VR and sensitivity in it
