Wait I’m confused. I completely agree that idols sung live more often back then. But some of the stages seem to still be lip synced that you showed. It’s sometimes hard for me to tell what is lip synced and what isn’t nowadays😅 Regardless, I’m glad you’re introducing these groups to more people.

I first got introduced to bigbang in 2009 by a boyfriend. He was playing music and Lies, Last Farewell and Haru Haru came up and I immediately loved them without knowing all these songs came from the same group. In the end I saw 2 other guys who also like bigbang and all these guys are not K-pop fans so I was always surprised to hear bigbang songs come up on their playlists. 1 of them even could play ENL on the guitar. They definitely have a lot more male fans than other boy groups.

I remembered reading about GD's issue back in 2009 and watched interviews of him and guesting in Strong Heart, I said to myself, "Were Koreans cruel?" 😅 It's too shallow to wish for someone's death. I find it stupid and cared less about it. But indeed it took a toll on GD and eventually tamed him down and later became elusive.

I felt very nostalgic with this video. I remember I used to watch them in an online streaming platform some of which are illegal site 😂 I thought they were comedians since Kpop was not a familiar term for us international fans. Then I was surprised that they're a boy group 😂 So sometime in 2006 I loved them not knowing they will be a legendary group. They've been into a lot of scandals and it'll be hard to impossible for them to comeback as OT5. But nobody can deny the fact they are and will always remain the Kings of Kpop. I wish that they'll be able to continue gifting us with their music. Be able to comeback strong or stronger. They are already on top and doesn't need any validation. What I wish for them is to be able to do music so long as it makes them happy.

I wish Taeyang got a bit more credit w/ the Hallyu Wave during the "Wedding Dress" era. I know Big Bang gets a ton of credit from older K-Pop fans but I think some fans would be surprised to know that "Wedding Dress" made a bit of a splash overseas in the U.S. No, it was not on the level of Wonder Girls' "Nobody" and for darn sure wasn't the same as PSY's "Gangnam Style". He wasn't talked about like Rain was (remember when Stephen Colbert started a war w/ Rain from 2007-2008?). However, if some of you were old enough, you'd remember people doing dance covers, piano covers, song covers, and even ENG versions of "Wedding Dress". You simply had to be there. It was a precious time in K-Pop history in the West bc there weren't even RUclipsrs back in the day who'd regularly do reactions, dance covers, song covers, etc. yet.
