Frisco Wig-Wag in operation Joplin, MO
Просмотров 14 тыс.5 лет назад
While on my way to the model train show in Joplin I stopped by to check out this rare Frisco WIG-WAG signal. This is the last WIG-WAG in Missouri and the only one I've seen in the "wild". Unfortunately the train never passed as it was just around the corner switching cars but luckily for us it was close enough to set it off.

Rip
This is now entirely gone
It’s unfortunately gone now. Not even a trace of it left in the dirt. They redid the crossing there with new asphalt/concrete and even a new drainage ditch and this signal was in the way of that.
Good photos of the tonner moving the hoppers into position at the mill.
I never got a pic didn’t know what it was I was young
hi, do you mind if i use this in a video i'm making? i will give you credit in the description. thanks!
So, are the tracks electrified, or are the cars, battery powered??
Best song for this!
So cool
Bridge looks dangerous
Looks are deceiving. It's stronger than the Memphis Bridge 🤣
That’s is actually a GP38-2
GIVE HER TO ME I LIKE THE GP20.
Whimsical, woody, wonderful! Amazing effort and fantastic results. Surely there was help at one time? One man cannot build a bridge like that! ?? Are the trolleys battery or are the rails powered?
The dog 🐕 is so happy he keeps shooting across the tracks like here I am and disappears again
She seems to have picked up a tree branch on her travels 😂😂😂
You got to replace the boards on the bridge.
You're railroad needs to be cleaned up.
very cool
Reminds me of Dogpatch USA.
Is this place for sale sooooo cool
🥰
Is This in NY? I live in Washington state, we have a mc coy creek too i thi k every state does lol, but if so then this is near Monroe Washington, id love to come out if it was, and fo some clearing and maintenance on this lovely forest RR, the ride is relaxing, just fun, takes me back to my childhood...thank you for the video 😊
It's down in Central Arkansas
Thank you, its a lovely place, love to visit for a peaceful ride, help out with some of the clearing of vegetation, thus looks like something out of my many dreams, of a rail system of maximum cuteness and imagination! I dont have the property nor the $ to build one, but this little bit needs to be kept up as brst as possible, it is a private rail line, but some of the public might enjoy, a ride like this, i know i would!, the bridge nreds some reinforcement in places, no problem there, i may even go ahead and rebuild them! To repeat, this is a charming rail line, straight out of my imagination, but its real!!
This is what happens when you keep out growing your train set, you keep getting bigger sets until one day you have a 1:1 scale train set... It is my ambition to one day own a 1:1 scale lay out.
Very interesting video. Thanks for making it. Very interesting reairoad also. Somebody put a to of time and effort into building it. You can tell it is getting worn out now. I hope they can find some friends to help fix it up. I would like to know more about the history of this railroad. How long ago was it built?
Would love to bring my ride sized streetcar up for a run
That would be cool. What gauge is it? Also when will you be at the Fort Smith Trolley Museum next?
wow, first time i saw this
wonderful!
How Many Visitors Do you get for That Train?
Wouldn't it be incredible to stumble across something like this when you were looking for a house to buy....
so cool!
Thanks for the real-time ride-along! That was awesome!
This is incredible! 🚂
I'd like to know the history of this. Just the amount of time to do something like this not counting the amount of money. This is the America few know about. Thanks.
Just goes to show you enjoy your dreams everyone gets old
Right-of-way needs some maintenance.
That was so cool. Someone with some $$$$$ has got to come in and save this treasure.
Good job dear 🌹🌹🌹
I childhood fantasy. Yea the man could use some help.
What a cool home rr!
How did it get so overgrown?
This is both beautiful and sad. Someone put lots of hard work into every piece of this, only for it to be taken away by time. I guess it happens to all of us if we live long enough.
Why be taken away? Other people can maintain it
You know what maby you can turn it into a railroad club and get it back into shape for all to enjoy
Welcome to, old age😔…………
Would love to know where this is… if it was close enough I’d like to volunteer my time to doing some cleaning up along the rails or whatever else needed to be done 😊
Can someone create a website with information, (maps?), updates, and possibly where to make donations to pay for the upkeep on this line?
I'll ask Ron if he is interested in any of that. Being a private railroad, he might not want all the info public
@@murphyjenkins5042 understood. Thank you for your reply.
Don't you just wish you owned all this?
Where is this?
DANG!!!
It would be great to know more about the individual who built this, they had a love for railroading that's for sure......The forest is going to eat this place up though unless somebody does something about it. The whole thing is just super!🚂🚂
This is the problem with a RR on private property. When the owner passes or becomes to elderly to do the maintenance, everything goes to seed. My own experience was with the Holmes brothers 15" gage, 5" scale GSP&P in the Santa Cruz mtns. I had 30 years of enjoyment, but all good things end.
New here. Is this one guys dream? If it is, how cool
U might need railroad mower !
