What is ICRPG ?

The way locks work, just because you can set some of the pins correctly inside doesn’t mean you can set them all. You could set all but one pin and the lock would stay locked. So being pedantic, the lock example doesn’t work.

I generallly print my PDFs as A5, but damn is it difficult to line the pages up, and cut the white space off. I have a paper cutter, but lining it up is damn near impossible cause it's not a guillotine, but rather rolls the blade over the paper.

What happened to the book ICRPG: Magic? I can't even find it in .pdf anywhere.

I had bad luck with rubber cement in the long run. I made some for 6mm Robotech. I had to put it up for awhile. After a 3-6 months I went to get it out and it had failed. I did the both sides like you're supposed. Didn't know if it was the humid area where I live. For other similar stuff, I usually make a rame with corrugated and hto glue then use pva to put the printed paper on.

What a cool idea!

Lots of Unlimited-Roll-to-Cast-Magic games I've seen inflict some kind of mishap on a failed roll, or prevent you from casting that same spell again until you recover somehow. Does no version of ICRPG do this? That shocks me! I guess the closest is Spellburn, but it looks that only happens if you even choose to do it, and the spell will always be burnt. Sidenote, which edition has your favorite version of the magic system? EDIT: Question about Magic Items when using HP or SP systems! Do you still expend HP/SP when using a Magic Item? Thanks!

I just happened across your video today, subbing because we are clearly like minded. I have been running icrpg for a while and when I got my hands on shadowdark a couple months ago I immediately started blending the two. The result is a lightning fast icrpg style game with the gritty feel and desperate atmosphere of the ole OSR scene. It's the smoothest running grimdark experience I have ever underwent and my players are eating it up!

Glad you are back, I was concerned about you; I had not seen a video in a bit. Thanks for this interesting demo, as an old grognard this game feels too simplistic for me. For a skirmish game, the I go, wipe you out, you have no retaliation is a bit harsh IMO. Things grognards love appear missing: scale and distance details; LOS and ZOC are undefined; opportunity fire; terrain impacts on movement and defense; impact of weather; off board artillery; saturation fire; entrenchment; moral; blah blah blah 🧐. I know what the rules said in the intro, but my grognard ways are hard to set aside. Might be good for a determining a large battle in an RPG, however, it is not a serious war game.

Kinda reminds me of Conan's world, maybe a bit smaller. Age of Snakes even makes me think of the time of Kull or even earlier when the vile snake men controller the world. Looking at you Thulsa Doom . Funny how Thoth is a Conan villain and Thulsa was a Kull villain. Yet the Conan movie was still AWESOME!!!

as a benchmark for a system i always try to recreate a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean (a really dynamic and chaotic one). can you do the same thign you did here those movies?

I make 2.5d terrain using cardboard and it works more than fine

I redid the equipment to be less whimsical, and be more in-line with ME. Definitely want to play more weird west games.
