Couldn’t see the rips. Based on waves from what I could see, it didn’t appear to be a rip.

These videos are hard to watch. I understand not wanting to burn spots but you're teaching how to fish structure and we can't even see how the waves are breaking to further understand what we're looking for in terms of how to find that type of structure. Also can't see the pace of the retrieve on the reel. The dutch angle looks crazy. I like the information but the presentation of the knowledge makes it hard to watch.

Not everyone would want to search for new spots by themselves and risk not getting a single bite hence they go to the same spot they had success, or where other people online post. Lots of people can only fish once a week, month, or months bc they got 9-5’s.

What are your thoughts on the Hi Lo Rig for Fluke fishing? One of the advantages I can see for it might be casting distance. Sometimes you have to get a bit further than a single jig can cast. Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated. I am still searching for that keeper fluke from shore. I just haven't been able to find her yet. But August is here and the Sand Eels seem to be moving into the bays and shores. Hopefully this will be the month 😅

cold water in Ocean County NJ has the fluke bite non existent for me in the surf so far this season

This is very interesting but the cut life short and make it easy for those that don’t know just fish. The white wash area where the wave comes in that’s where the fish are hunting OK so you try and cast so that you can work your jerk bait or whatever you’re using to your advantage in the low wateralong the beach, not out in the deep deep they’re all along the shoreline close to where the waves are breaking

Went out Wednesday morning outgoing tide Monmouth County NJ and fished a trough similar to yours. Caught many many fish but all were shorts, wondering if I need deeper water.

It's worth remembering that sand bars are moving all the time with different tides and winds and waves. I'm jealous of your fishery up there. I live by the Chesapeake Bay and I fish for flounder a lot. So far it's been the pits everywhere I've been, lots of tiny shorts and no good ones. And they raised the limit from 16 up to 17.5", so it just got harder. But I refuse to quit trying. Our Gulp get chewed up by tail biters a lot, the croakers and spots and little flounder are tough on them. I try other soft plastics and even with Procure they don't seem to work as well.

Are you finding there's a lot of smaller fish this year compared to last year?
