My name is Chris Dow and my wife and I live, work and travel full time in our RV - a 2020 Grand Design Momentum 397TH fifth wheel toy hauler.
Before becoming full time RVers, I had no idea how many people were interested in doing the same! I’d never thought of living in an RV until the day we actually went to a dealership to look at rigs. But every time I told someone what we were planning on doing, “I’ve considered that…” or “I’d like to do that one day…” was the common response.
With that in mind (and also the realization that pulling this off was going to take a huge amount of research and planning) I decided to document the entire journey.
My plan for this channel is to release my experiences chronologically for anyone thinking of doing something similar. From how-tos and tutorials to reviews, tips and my thoughts on RV life.
I hope to create videos that are informative, helpful and maybe even a little inspiring :)

We got a five seater for our toy hauler and keep it climate controlled. The seats that never get set in are peeling… very frustrating

@@Itsa_Mea We’ve actually used Open Roads for years and it’s been awesome! On this particular trip though this overpriced truck stop was the most convenient. lol.

Why do people go aginsed manufacture recommended things if I remember correctly it’s 75 for the front and 80 for the rear
@@Jaybird913 You don’t remember correctly. Lol. Door sticker says 90 for front and 80 for rear. The more you know 💫
And that sticker if for tire size psi should be adjusted accordingly for any changes

tire pressure should likely be around 45 front 40 rear unloaded, door sticker is for the absolute MAXIMUM LOAD your truck is rated for, the more ya know, overinflating tires gives poor ride snd uneven wear but better economy

As someone who doesn't wear glasses because my sight is good , i can see the slight shake which likely means a blade hit or clipped it. In drones over $50 thats usually the safety feature so it doesn't tear up the rotor or something else internal
Congrats on your epic vision!
I had Recpro but they did not hold up well despite replacements due to seams coming apart in the seat and back rest on both sides. They seemed aware of the flaws and quickly sent replacements . Eventually they started peeling. We now have A new RV with Thomas Paine but the frames seem to be bent because the recline mechanisms are catching.
Interesting. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had bad experiences with both! Quality seems to be harder to come by these days unfortunately.

Great video but did you ever consider Morryde independent suspension and disc brake conversion
@@billchesney8949 Independent suspension is definitely nice but it’s quite a bit more expensive and requires an appointment for installation. I wanted to refresh all of our components myself before our next big trip so timing was also a consideration for me personally. As for disc brakes, these drums have been performing perfectly fine over the past 5 years, so again, while this would also be a nice upgrade, it wasn’t something I stress or worry about.
where did you plug it in?
There is a regular AC outlet where the old fridge was plugged in. You can see it on the right side of the screen at 6:54
The outdoor kitchen norcold refrigerator did not come with normal clamp that keeps door shut when moving . So we can not keep it to full when moving.
@@dianasmith6971 This one shuts pretty securely but I would imagine a ton of weight stored in the doors could cause them to open. Our doors aren’t usually packed full of weight and we also use a strong gun magnet across the doors.
What did you use to keep refrigerator doors shut during movement?
@@dianasmith6971 The doors hold shut pretty securely anyway, but I do place a strong gun magnet across the crack of the door for some additional peace of mind. Haven’t had them open yet!
