Lse math of economics not as hard as UCLs

Hi Annie - I was just admitted to the BSc in Maths & Econ. Are there any textbooks or online groups that will help me start preparing for year 1 courses?

I applied late to UCL and i recieved an email from them that thanked me for applying. They also told me that i would be sent another email that would allow me to access portico and that i would likely be called for an interview. Later that day, UCAS sent me a rejection email. I'm confused 😢

I am email about being on hold twice for Economics and Politics and I’m very worried about being rejected as it is my first choice uni….is there any chance people on hold get accepted ?

Is mathematics with data science also a course you can switch to before your 2nd year?

Makes no difference in the end. You can study maths and just read finance and economics on the side

Can not decide between maths and finance at university of york or mathematics and economics at LSE?

Do you think going to university is worth it? I believe it does not provide you something like unique experience. Unis do not care about teaching high quality education anymore, they only care about money. Studying at uni nowadays seems useless.

Do not study in the UK if you want to find a job after graduation. UK's education do not prepare you for jobs. It is focused on theory. There is very lack of practical applications at universities. Higher education is very expensive too. I do not believe that the education you receive at UK university equips you even the basic skills required by industries. You just waste your time there. Go to USA. There will be more opportunities after graduation. In USA, companies do not look for 5 years experience right after graduation. They will teach you that while you work there. No one can become a experienced person without job offer. In USA, if you do Masters then most companies will automatically assume you as 2 years experienced engineer. That's very good system. Unfortunately, UK and EU is out of blue. They expect everyone to be born as 10 years experience. Ridiculuos.
