    🤔You knew a guy like that , Insistent Eddie Tore was his name , we called him " Tore the place up!" ( as in always making us laugh). He loved doing show & tell in school , gave him a chance to do sound effects . Judging by the teacher's expression she was in Dredd when it was Eddie's turn . 2000 A D was what she gave Eddie ; 2000 approval distinctions for his presentations. We were all in complete agreement. 🤔 Yeah , I think so , Eddie did have an albino right hand as well.

      Someone must have thought it was too niche to bother sending over, I've seen people on your end picking issues up here and there and I'm telling them you should get this and this but they're like this stuff isn't all that easy to pick up, which is kind of mind boggling really. That cover of the month is a fun one, why bother with ray guns when you can just lob a brick at someone!

    I was wondering what they came to with postage, for a minute there I thought it might work out OK to buy from him. A bit steep for me. Have you considered getting a Stackery account? They are meant to be good for getting books from overseas. I need them DC specials too for my run of that series. Yay Rima for the win!

    • @tmpsfrommars
      @tmpsfrommars 12 дней назад

      This was just a one off as I was getting some freebies off of Rob, which I'd offered to pay postage on so I thought I'd see if there was anything in the claim sale as well, to be fair he did offer to help me out but it would have meant him losing out, which is very generous of him but he's selling this stuff cheap enough as it is. Still I don't think less than 6 quid a book is too bad and yes, there seems to be a bit of a Rima resurgence going on at the moment!

  • @Quite_Nuff_Sayer
    @Quite_Nuff_Sayer 13 дней назад

    Snappy vid, Tempus. I liked the saucer joke. You can get the postage down to as low as $1 a book if you get like 100 of them in a large priority flat rate, side-by-side stacks to 5.5 inches. The medium flat rate seems like around $1.8 per book for like 50. Of course the less boards the more books.

    👀Thee see that Kryptonian reunion? 🤗! 🤓Spectacle lure with those additional adventurous antagonists ! As to sizeable comics I will say that Joe Garcia was actually a healthier amount more than the comic you showed but then Joe never made to the 3rd round of the comedy contest he participated in. Ahhh , but had Joe reached the 3rd round , ( 🤔hmm I wonder if using the word "round" is suitable for this conversation?) , his sizeable presence and humorous anecdotes would have been listed in historical records. Ahh but Joe is largely forgotten now except by those of us who know him. ( 🤔 Is " largely" another cautious word?). The gigantic had to be so for it contains a time capsule sampling of SA and BA continuity goodness.

      @@tmpsfrommars Joe was a rough and tough guy who preferred family friendly material ; I guess it was partly because his favorite comic books were the Archie style teen humor books and the Funny Animal titles. Congrats on your 50th video Tempus. And, a great video indeed my friend. That Sword of Sorcery was a nice, short run series. I loved when DC did the DC Comics Salutes the Bicentennial on 33 of their books. I wonder how many kids ruined their comics and fell short of the goal they need to send in and get that Superman belt buckle. I also wonder if anyone has that Superman belt buckle. I have never seen one. Cool DC Treasuries as well. I enjoyed the Batman Family series and thought the last four issues were great. From what I have heard, that series was supposed to continue and the plan was to cancel Detective Comics but cooler heads prevailed and they did not cancel Detective even though it was on the struggle bus at the time. They rolled Batman Family into that book. Charlton had some under appreciated horror comics. I rarely saw a Charlton comic as a kid. Maybe at a local Kmart here in the states back in the 70s.

    🤔 You know "A " , I do "B" lieve in that educational stuff. I remember seeing something similar to those Super books in our.school library ; they were intended for students who needed extra help reading. That Jimmy knee is sure cricket on stage ; his mobility is entertaining but his facial expression seems to indicate that he wouldn't make a Jiminy of a Crickwitted advisor. The Ducks , The Mighty Mouse , Ol' Jiminy , a country style atmosphere of relaxing reading.

      I had read that as well as changing the characters they did alter the wording in some instances as well, anything that gets kids reading, comics or otherwise can't be a bad thing. It is astounding what we classed and indeed do still class as entertainment 😄

    Nice set of books there, Temps! I need to rewatch Krull, it's been a while for sure. Last Straighter we watched about 6 months ago, loved it. This synth wave song takes samples from that movie and compelled me to rewatch it again! ruclips.net/video/8OM1uAE2mAg/видео.htmlsi=T22kkavouqvZceYq

      Cheers Doc, from the looks of what they released on those Marvel Super Specials they might as well have named them Marvel Movie specials! Marvel did seem to have one up on DC with the movie tie-ins as well.

    You can’t go wrong when you start out with a DC Treasury featuring Joe Kubert art. 👏 Love those Charlton books too.

      I'm starting to pick up some Charlton here and there now, I'd much rather have stuff like that and Gold Key and Dell than any Marvel stuff, that's not really me having a dig at Marvel it's just there's companies that did stuff that appeal to me more, Charlton especially have a lot of sci-fi\horror\mystery books that I'd like to get hold of.

    😎 Wild hunting in the wild bringing on the wildest man of all -- Tarzan! A really great Kubert series. Charlton's Midnight series is a favorite among collectors. Never can go wrong with Uncle Scrooge or any other Disney / funny animal selection. 🙄shilly there is no suspicion among the audience that payola is involved in these weekly "pick ups" ?

      I just thought I'd have to mention that I wasn't paid for this but having said that I'm not averse to being paid for things like this 😄The only other Kubert Tarzan stuff I have is in the 100 pagers, I'll have to rectify that at some point.
