I have been waiting to upgrade my mini 4. Though I feel bad for peeps that recently paid 499.00 for the 64 gig mini 6. P.S. the mini 6 case is on eBay for 25.00. It is compatible with the mini 7. Bought a new one in burnt orange before people twig and the prices shoot up! Then with the money saved, buy a plug which no longer comes with the I pad 😞. I have an I phone 13 USBC plug so can use that.

My wife uses her ipad mini 6 for her on the field work and reports. The only upgrade she wants is a higher nit brightness as she works outside. Looking forward to a huge nit ncrease in the iPad mini 7 but I haven't seen much news about it.

I got it all working but cant get the Opacity to change the brightness of the overlayed Light image depending on the brightness of the entity - is something missing from your sample code to get that to work ? thanks again

Should people buy it? If you want it-- Sure. The mini still is the most mobile and hand-friendly tablet out there in my opinion. The 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and binned A17 Pro will get you far. Should mini 6 users upgrade to it? for general casual users and avid note takers-- No Only beneficiaries for the update are people into iPad gaming and heavy iPad multi-taskers. My biggest gripe with the update-- Apple locking the compatibility to Apple Pencil Pro.

I feel that was a slap in the face to the iPad Mini users. I think I am going to just get the iPad Air M2 11” inch version now that I don’t take my iPad everywhere anymore because I now use the iPhone 16 Pro Max in it’s place.

You didn’t even talk about the most important thing : the display !!! I want an iPad mini so bad but no OLED and no Pro Motion is impossible for me. Switching from an OLED-ProMotion display to this LCD the difference is too visible and annoying

Apple should get an award for being the #1 company that manages to continually create loyal customers, then baits them along for years before giving them a sufficient update.

Delyn, I was so excited to finally get my hands on the iPad mini as my go-to iPad. I want to replace my 11-inch Pro so I can carry my MacBook Air and the mini everywhere. I can't seem to settle for a mini without ProMotion. I guess I'll wait for the next one, or maybe Apple will release a mini Pro. lol

This is the most ridiculous update apple has ever released. Literally a waste of my time. i'll be keeping my 6. It would have been better do nothing at all.

The iPhone audio mixer doesn’t sound that great. What microphone do you use for your videos? The sound of your voice sounds great. The iPhone sounded distorted.

I can't use a variable in the style attribute to dynamically change the opacity. Any ideas why? If I set the value fix to e.g. "0.5" it works but with your opacity snippet and my sensor it doesn't work.

Love it man. There is nothing like seeing your kid get excited about smart home stuff. Kudos on the setup, the twist with govee was a smart idea. I don’t have anything this fancy, but my 4 year old daughter has a lamp and sconce with hue bulbs, a VOCOlinc humidifier (which has terrible color) and a Hue light strip that lines the back of a teepee/tent type thing in her room. She loves the different colors and I have a flic button on her bed post in case she needs to get up in the night, it’ll turn her tent hue strip to 10% on a warm setting. Thanks for the content

Thanks for your video. You've got a new subscriber as I’m currently planned to install Home Assistant and uses it with HomeKit. I just have a question. Instead of removing all my accessories currently managed in Homekit, insert them in Home Assistant and reinsert them in HomeKit, do you think it's possible to use "HomeKit Device" plugin which "allows you to connect accessories with the Works with HomeKit logo to Home Assistant" ?

Any change that would work with color-changing lights? Or at different parts of the day (by using a much darker base image at night)?

Do I understand correctly that in any case you have to install the device in home assistant first and then you can use it by using the bridge in HomeKit, too. It’s not possible to use a HomeKit device directly in home assistant?

WOW 😮 A Google Pixel 9 Pro XL 4K - 7 minute video is 3.8GB meaning a 15 minute video would be 7.6GB YO.... WTF. I know you're shooting in "log" form, essentially recording 2 videos at once (so 2 video files) and even that is insane! Why is nobody talking about this? I think your culprit is the Beta. Please (if you can) roll back to a stable build and test if the phone still overheats and test battery lige please. There is a reason it is a "beta" build. Not ready for prime time. Are you sure the Audio Mix feature isn't available on the Voice notes? You said it could only be used/edited in the Photos app.

When I record cinematic videos on my 16 pro it doesn’t playback. I don’t know what the issue is.

Trying to decide whether to switch from 13 pro to 16 pro , only thing I wanted it for was the audio mix feature for vlogging. Unsure about the audio quality though seems a bit robotic, I wonder if software updates can fix that ?

I however don't see any changes happening (apart from the on/off).

Thanks for this tutorial, But I dont know what I am doing wrong, when I type in the image path mine being(local/V1/Flooruno/TopBaseDay.png) nothing pops up on the image, I have triple checked the spelling and case sensative, files are located is in homeassistant/WWW/V1/Flooruno/ please help.

Thank you for this tutorial. I'm trying to understand one thing though. If I have 40 smart lights in the home, do I have to create an image for each one on and off throughout the house? That would mean hundreds of images with all the variations of all the room lights on and off.

Thank you for the explanation but I don't understand why this works (obviously it does at you show it in the video): as you generate all pictures with only one light on: why don't you see only the latest lamp on if you turn it on or if you turn one lamp off: why don't you then see all lights off even only one was turned off. Do you somehow limit the image space that is replaced for one light?
