You helped me consider some programming aspects that will be more efficient compared to my current method and have definitely hasted my acquisition of the Home Assistant system. I have been mentally justifying redoing my home office automation. Like you described, it seems that having my 20+ automations for it will just be simpler across 3 sets of automations. Right now, I normally get the “I tried, but not all home accessories replied.”
I’ve been there. Sucks starting over. I only use home kit and found a shortcut IF ELSE statement works great for when no presence detected on the fp2. Essentially, I set a “wait X minutes after presence not detected > if presence detected stop shortcut > Otherwise lights off”.
I'm on the 58 sec. Thats a great reminder to make a backup :)

Just curious, why do you use different programs to set your automations? Could these all be done in home assistant alone?
It's a good question. I have found that for some more simple automations apple home performs them faster and more reliably.
