Добавлен 28 окт 2019
Cisco Racing Videos were introduced in order to preserve the history and memories of stock car racing. The majority of our content is related to stock car racing memories from New Jersey asphalt speedways. However, we have and will continue to include videos and photos of stock car racing from other states along the east coast. Our videos will cover stock car racing from 1950 - 1999.
Wall Stadium 1984-*"Never say Never" to a race car driver*
1984 - Wall Stadium Modified main event---2 massive wrecks eliminate 14 cars from competition. The 8 remaining cars were able to put quite a show for the fans. See what happens when race car drivers make the wrong split second decision or take a peek in the mirror at the wrong time. There is no room for error in the world of short track stock car racing, it can be disastrous.
*Stafford 1983 Fall Final 100* Cookman-Bugsy-Evans+ Bouchard, Pasterak & many more
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.2 года назад
Stafford Speedway always presented "The Fall Final 100" as the last modified race in New England each year. Since most tracks would shut down at the end of September or early October, many of the top drivers from other regions were able to compete at the Fall Final. Usually, 50-60 competitors showed up. Yes, most of the "top guns"/"invaders" were there.

I may have been there for that, for my recall is a little glitchy.
There's still racing there.
What class is this? Don't know rounds round classes, but looks super mod/pony??? Pinto/vega/monza based???
@@AdamRoot-z5g Modified stock cars. Nothing stock about them. The bodies have nothing to do with what’s underneath.
@AirSpooledGarage Thanks. Got a fairly clapped out '78 pinto (Ohio winters🙄) runabout. Would b cool 2 build street version o 1 o these😁🤪
Yours truly was the announcer there that night.
who is your's truly?

He ain't no Glenn Sullivan!
I KNOW TONY A LONG TIME.A GREAT GUY.
It looked like Tony was done, more than once. One of the nicest guys in racing.
Saw him at Turkey Derby this year, great guy.
Tony Siscone won the race and, his tires were flat Wayne Anderson pitted for a flat. The tires were a factor bc, the track was cracked The ROC was at Flemington
I owned a camp with Richie Evans first crew chief,Roger B.
Great pictures, Thank you
Great memory lane..."real modifieds"... had been to these tracks back in the day (moved from the area in '76) ... I don't recall the #659 (at 1:33) ...that was Parker Bohn's number when he ran the 37 Chevy with the GMC straight 6 (6:38) ... but doesn't seem it was that later car either at (10:08)...seems the low hood line is too low for straight 6?
Evans was on a different level!
Where can I get a print of that spectacular wreck at Wall Stadium with Kremer's 77 up in the air in front of the stands? Please get back to me at your convenience. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video and posting it! Great memories!
Brings back good memories.
Thanks!! Great looking machines. 🏁🇺🇸👍
Never knew how close Jimmy Spencer was to Ritchie. Stories from the road priceless 😂
I remember this race. Exciting racing, an emotional for the Flemke family. Lost one of the greatest modified driver.😢
❤ Love this, I got to meet Ray Everham he is an awesome man
It was a very cold day and it had a very biting wind in the air. I was there with my Dad, we sat in the grandstands just before the start/finish line. Walked in a little late as they were cleaning up Vinnie Greens wreck on the backstretch. I walked up to the concession stand to get my Dad some coffee and myself a hot chocolate after that I stopped by Carol's goody shack to get a Racing newspaper. When I returned to our seats my dad was talking to some friends that we sat with in the stands numerous times. I handed him his coffee and began to sip my hot chocolate and began scanning the newspaper. When I finished reading the articles I scanned the "for sale" ads in the back pages of the newspaper. One ad caught my eye; someone in New York was selling his Race car and all his spare parts. He was asking $1500 for all of it !! I was 17 years old and I just happened to have saved $1500 from my salary working at my uncles starter and alternator shop. I showed the ad to my dad thinking he was going to brush me off but to my surprise he considered it and though it was a good deal for what we were going to be getting. Fast forward, After a phone call to the number listed in the newspaper ad, We made arrangements (my dad and a friend of ours Jimmy Sturtecky) drove up to New York state to buy the car and parts if everything looked good. The first trip was a bust because it had snowed and it was too slippery for the ramp truck but a week Later they we able to complete the trip and I was the very proud owner of my first race car !!! so very happy !! ... I slept in the drivers seat the first night it was in the garage; And just like that my career in racing began!! Fast forward my story, I was 17 years old on the day that this video was recorded and as I am writing this story I am now 60 years old. I have had a successful career in racing, It has been my life's work. I have raced at and been to many race tracks from Daytona and Talladega to Indianapolis and Bristol. I have worked on Wall Stadium cars to NASCAR cup cars for Robert Yates Racing and Red Bull ..... It all started ON THIS DAY in 1981 ... what a treasure it was to find this video here and re-live this day, one of the best days of my life !!! I miss you very much Dad, I hope when I see you again we can do it all over again together.
PAUCH IS THE MAN !!!! FROM LAST ROW
Does anyone know the history of the 2X? My great uncle owned that car in the 60's and early 70's, I believe. He had a ramped truck hauler and traveled New England and NY. I don't know who drove it. We have 2X jackets kicking around somewhere. My family have all passed away.
The good old day s❤
The Bob Judkins 2x.
I was at that race when I was 10 years old. What a show they put on.
I know that the modern version of the track is a D shape, and the older version is an oval, but i cant tell if the Central Jersey Speedway is a D or still an oval
That was a good spanking. Tony and Dick really had the field covered in the 80s.
This is great! Thank you.
I miss that place 💔
The thumbnail picture doesn't look like Wall. Was that at New Egypt? 659 is Eddie Bohn, right?
Actually, now I think it's Flemington
The thumbnail was the new cavalier that was the backup car for the 1992 season. That was most likely flemington in the background
Wait, im slightly confused, dont the nascar modifieds still occasionally race at wall? Like im pretty sure i went to a nascar modified event there
Yes there have been some nascar tour races at wall and they have nascar modifies at the Turkey Derby, along with the wall modifieds
Oh now I see what you mean. In the video, "NASCAR type modifieds" refers to the practically unlimited modifieds that raced at Wall Stadium up until that time. After that race the modifieds moved to Flemington and Wall Stadium switched over to what became known as the MAD (modified affordable division) modifieds. MAD had a lot of rules that were intended to make modified racing more affordable. It seemed to work pretty well because we had fields of 30 cars. There was a consolation race just about every week and a few guys didn't make the feature. The current wall modifieds are kind of a hybrid mix of MAD and the old unlimited modifieds. They have rules but they're not as restrictive as the MAD rules were. Current weekly car count varies from about 12 to 18 modifieds most of the time.
JIMMY WAS THE BEST DRIVING ONE HAND
It was a one time last minute deal. Mike Stefanik was supposed to drive it but couldn't get there for some reason so they called Billy. It was one of the best moves we ever saw to get by Siscone and Reggie. It was right in front of us. Billy was great on dirt or asphalt. One of the best ever. Still holds the fastest lap on a one mile track in the Zemco No. 1 Sprint Car at Syracuse.
No if they brought the dirt back they would have brought the FANS BACK
If Pauch ran more asphalt races at Flemington. He would have brought the crowd back. Flemington speed way might still exist today.
Doubt it. The asphalt caused more accidents, and the open-wheeled modified design is just not suited for a paved track.
Thank you sharing this! Love watching and listening to anything related to Ed Flemke,
Lol,ole wick pomeroy
If you look real close me and a bunch of friends are sitting in the first turn grandstand. Loved that track and the Tuesday night extra distance races. Great memories.
Did Tony Ciscome have a fatal accident at Stafford motor speedway. I believe it happened in the first turn
I believe I was at that race and may he rest in peace
@@GerardArchambault Who are you talking about?
When it was Fort Dix Speedway it also had The Mini Stocks there quite a few times and put on a good show.
Man, this video brings back alot of memories when I was an 10 year old kid!!watched Satch Worley,Al Hill, Paul Radford, Johnny Johnson battle it out on the Historic Quater Mile Bowman Gray stadium!! Man Those were the Days!!!

thanks alot that was awesome richie goat
This was a great place for the race of champions , to bad they dont have it today .
Any one Old enough too remember "Will Cagle" or Merv " Potatoe wagon" Trikler,or Chuck Akulas?. Damn Im Old.
I grew up going to Middletown, so hell yes I remember. Crazy that Frankie is in this race.
Cagle was both dirt and asphalt along with The monk lazzaro
This is right around the time I started going to the races. I think the first photo of a race car I ever had was in 1974 at East Windsor, with my grandfather. Shortly after that we moved to brick and I started going to Wall. I remember the fire hydrants painted R,W&B for the bicentennial when we lived on Harvard Ave in Brick. I remember seeing a lot of these cars before the Cavalier took over. Great memories!
