    Thank you for sharing this Madz. In all honesty, I’m in a very similar position as you were. I’m 4 years into Webflow but still don’t have a clue of how to develop my business. I’m trying new things. Hopefully something will click! 😊

  • @lancelot222

    One more question, lol... is there any reason someone would still use Showit for a client instead of Webflow?

  • @lancelot222
    @lancelot222 5 дней назад

    Lots of great points to consider here, thank you!! Wanted to see if you could clarify, are there situations where Squarespace actually might be the best fit for a client? Also, how does pricing work for Webflow from the client perspective... what will their ongoing cost be? If they want to use bluehost to host their site and it's built on Webflow, is that an option? Again, awesome video, thank you!! :D

    • @studiomadz
      @studiomadz 4 дня назад

      Yes! My clients all pay for their own hosting via something like bluehost or godaddy. Then I build the site on Webflow, transfer it over to their account, and they are in charge of their monthly Webflow payments. It will vary depending on their features. Yes, there are situations where Squarespace would be a better fit. If they are already comfortable with the platform and want to stay. If they have a ton of content already over there and don't have the budget to make the switch (exporting can be tricky with Sqspace). Or if they want something that feels as manageable as possible for them to edit on their own, more than creative design/layout. All about what they value in the process and in their website in general.

    Great video Maddie, this has spoken directly to me as well with focussing too much on product / service features rather than just coming up with a killer offer for the client. One of the things I struggle with is I want to focus on building the best, most bespoke client sites I can, but often this means it's less profitable. I don't like using Relume because it degrades my skills, but it's definitely way more profitable. There's a priority conflict here and one i'm still figuring out.

    • @studiomadz
      @studiomadz 20 дней назад

      I feel that struggle! And I'm the same as you, preferring to build pretty custom and tailored sites for my clients. I mainly use Relume to build the bones of my site & to create a clear system. But then I customize pretty heavily on top of that which allows me to land somewhere in the middle to balance speed & customizations. If raising your prices isn't feeling right, then I'd be curious where you can make some repeatable systems in your biz to help with profitability. Good luck!

    Hello Maddie, great video! Just got one question, when the site is finished and I send to the client, they will still have to pay a montlhy fee to webflow? So their cost will be what I charge for the site + monthly fee forever, that is very hard to sell to a client, specially with webflow prices. How do you do it

    • @studiomadz
      @studiomadz 5 месяцев назад

      Hey there! No matter what website platform they use, there is going to be a monthly cost associated with it, which is standard practice for the client to handle. If they aren't in a place to make an additional investment for designer/developer to help them build, that's totally understandable, but just means they aren't the right fit for you. They can always DIY their site, but the cost will be their time & attention. You offer valuable expertise, insight, and skill, and with the right clients, that's worth paying for.

      Hey there! Haha fair question, but more videos are on the way I promise. That's awesome you want to dive into brand & web. Its a super rewarding career. If you've never built a website before, I do think there is value in starting with more of a DIY tool (like Squarespace or Wix) just to understand some basics of web design, responsiveness, design principles, etc. and be able to start creating sooner. You may outgrow it quickly and then feel ready for a truly custom option like Webflow. Totally depends on your goals and where you are starting from.

    • @studiomadz

      Great question! Not gonna lie Webflow can get a bit confusing with this. Assuming I'm understanding your question correctly... your client will have access to the Designer & The Editor no matter what plan they purchase. However, if they want to invite additional team members as 'collaborators' to also use the Editor, they would need at least a CMS site plan. This is what 90% of my clients have since there's almost always some CMS components when I'm building. However, if you want full editing access on behalf of your client (not as an additional collaborator) you can be added as a 'guest' to their site. This means you each have your own separate Webflow accounts and you can hop into theirs for free to support with changes. Hope that makes sense! If not, feel free to DM me on Instagram for more clarity.
