Hello, thank you for your feedback! Indonesian and Malays have their different kind of sweet soy sauce as well. So, I don't mention sweet sauce. For my dark soy sauce, it's always referring to Chinese dark soy sauce ya (the thicker and sweeter version than light soy sauce). Hope this clarifies. 😀

Yes, not needed at all. Just ginger and sesame oil and thats the original fragrance for this dish. 😊 You can always add garlic or onion as you like, bit it will taste slightlyvdifferent, but sure its delicious too.
